I admire her for standing up and doing what's right. I disagree with her conservative politics, but she's a normal person deserving of respect, unlike the MAGA cultists who wanted to manipulate her.

Hearing her story about Gaetz at Camp David, picturing his face in the doorway saying and doing those things made my skin crawl.

What's great about this interview is that it really sounds like someone describing what it's like to leave a cult.
I love her sense of humor after going through such an ordeal.
At a very young age, my folks taught me right from wrong and I'm so glad they did. They also taught me to stay informed, learn about each candidate so one could make a smart decision. Trump had no platform; no foreign policy. I knew he had gone bankrupt and there were so many other red flags, it was a no-brainer, I'm so glad I voted for Clinton in 2016.
Knowing right from wrong is simple, extremely important and woefully lacking.

From the time he started campaigning, the man made perfectly clear who he is and what his values are. I'm sure there are some people who took jobs in his administration in the hope of moderating his impulses and getting some good accomplished despite his personality. But not one of them can honestly say they were surprised that he is difficult, and under qualified to a dangerous degree. "When someone shows you who they are, BELIEVE them!"
Fascinating watching a former cult member talk about their journey into the cult and her struggling rise out of it. Helps us understand a bit more how cultists get dragged into the trump pit of hell. Good on her for smartening up and dragging herself out. An intelligent young woman.

I've never agreed with Liz Cheney on policy, but her leading the hearings was not just admirable, it was courageous and honest. Cassidy Hutchinson is also a republican who seems to have a soul. We will not agree on policy. But I might read her book.

I would imagine it to be similar to the Monica Lewinsky experience. Not what President Clinton did, but the experience of being so close to POTUS and the whole White House experience.
Cassidy has a trembling, anxious demeanor. You can tell she is fearful, and perhaps feels alone. But you can tell she is telling the truth. If she were dishonest, she would have never said something like “Others can corroborate anything I’ve testified to, so I’m hoping they find the courage to come forward.” That is *not* something a dishonest person would say. She also meekly but repeatedly instills her faith in the justice system. I think she is a very credible witness and I’m glad she did the right thing.

Cassidy Hutchinson will be included in our history as an American who represents the best aspects of our democratic system. I consider myself a little right of center. I won't vote for Trump if he's the nominee. Having said that, I WILL NEVER VOTE DEMOCRAT. The things they stand for is so out of whack. It's pretty disturbing hearing someone who comes across as so sweet and unassuming talk wistfully about the feeling she got when she attended a Trump rally for the first time. Those events are cesspools of vitriol and cynicism and xenophobia. I'm glad that she escaped that situation, and grateful that her honesty and moral compass cast her out of Trump World, but it really sickens me to think that there are so many people just like her that continue to be seduced by Trump's cult.

She described the setting but had no insights for the inexplicable falling for this guy, that she also did. Great for Jimmy asking the tough question, "why work for Trump in the first place", she has been on countless shows now, and he is the first I have seen to ask this. Everyone else, basically gave her a pass on that.
She does a solid hour on Pod Save America and gets really granular about how she got there. Basically she was very "nose to the grindstone" to make it in DC and jumped from one rep to another in GOP circles, not in a craven way, but just grabbing what ever job came her way. She was a pretty young Repub, and kind of drifted right in to the center of things.

That might be true, but a lot of folks saw the behavior that led to Jan 6 before the 2016 elections. It was right there in the open. So if less people ignored that for some "other" goal, Trump, perhaps could have been avoided.

I don't think Trump is alluring. It is the ambience of the event that makes people worship him. Similar thing happen if you are attending a concert, a giant church mass, or an MLM convention. It's the influence of the mass. That's why when you watch Trump on TV you find him repulsive. Because you can see him as he is, without the influence of the mass in your surrounding. So, credit should be given to the event organizer.

She did not have to tell the truth to the committee. She dropped Trump’s attorney and got her own. She freely admits to an evolution in her thinking. She volunteered to testify in public. A lot of people didn’t. I think she did OK considering where she started from.

I watched her entire testimony and was impressed with her poise and integrity. I read her book and enjoyed it immensely. Cassidy, one day you will be another person's Alex Butterfield. When you're in your early 20s and trying to get your career off the ground, it's easy to give someone who hires you the undeserved benefit of the doubt.
