Yeah. We already knew Gaetz did this (years ago?) when he was first accused of sleeping with underage girls. The fact that our “leadership” refuse to expel him from Congress and the justice system did nothing is a sad example of how our society works and what we’re willing to accept and excuse.
I'd assume he was actually innocent, because any of the girls could come forward with extreme reward from any rich democrat willing to pay for the evidence/story! Accusations happen a ton to anyone powerful, it's evidence that matters and nothing else for a fair and equal justice system.

"Tom Petty's estate requested that President Donald Trump no longer play the late singer's music after "I Won't Back Down" was heard at the president's rally Saturday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Trump's team was "in no way" authorized to use the song, Petty's estate said in a statement released on the singer's Twitter page. Petty, who died in 2017 at age 66, wrote the song for the common man and would not have approved of its use in Trump's campaign, the estate said.

A cease and desistv order will not stop trump from using any song. He used Betty Buckley's transcendent version of MEMORY from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical CATS.
The song is about an old, homeless, grungy looking cat whom done of the other cats love, and they won't let their kittens play with them; no one loves Grizabella (her cat character) anymore *because* she's no longer beautiful, like she was when she was younger.
The way Betty Lynn sings the song, it's about learning to love yourself on the inside, and loving life, and having hope -- "Look! A new day has begun!"
Is diametrically opposed to everything Trump stands for.
Betty Lynn Buckley AND Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber sent cease and desist letters and Trump kept using it... and he KNEW Betty Lynn was one of his most outspoken detractors out there back then. I'm sure it made him happy to break her heart using that most beautiful song of self realization and hope that is her trademark number, if you will.

That's the same song that Tom Petty's family wouldn't let Trump use for his campaign, they posted on Twitter “Trump was in no way authorized to use this song to further a campaign that leaves too many Americans and common sense behind.” It isn't public domain either, she has to pay them for the right to record and make money off of it, IF they agreed to allow it, which I highly doubt. They could sue the crap out of her though, that would be cool.
That's why none of the platforms want to touch it with a 10 foot stick. They'd be liable for $$$$. That and it's terrible. She's only doing it to be spiteful to the Petty family because they told *Rump not to use it.

@@meself349 They know, they have copyright lawyers for this very thing, every artist or their estate keeps track of things like copyright infringement and plagiarism. It takes time to build a case and figure out what charges should be brought, monetary fines and penalties assessment for the charges, they could demand a public apology, a recall of the album and whatever the fee would have been had they bought the right to record the song and be done with it, easy and civil, or make a big deal and drag her through the system kicking and screaming that it's a political witch hunt. One does not simply sue anybody, there's a chain of procedures.
