It was able to land me an interview and a job. I had no formal IT experience just self taught skills and no degree.
That is amazing!
@@nicoleenesse I did leverage customer experience as one of my strong points during the interview but I was pleasantly surprised when they wanted to know more about the cert
Damn, nice!
is ther a proctored test or do you get a cert for finishing the material? I'm studying this off a youtube video and don't have coursera
@@stardestroyer59 what job did you apply for?
FOR THE PEOPLE READING THIS: STOP DOUBTING YOURSELF. STOP LOOKING FOR APPROVAL OR SECURITY IN OTHERS. LEARN ANY CERTIFICATION TO GET YOIR FOOT IN THE DOOR. CREATE YOUR GOALS AND THE PATH AND YOULL GET THERE WITH HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION.
Thank you for these words. I believe I'll be there.
Needed this
I needed to hear this.
Thank you
I appreciate how you’re your thoughts are clear-cut and to the point, you literally answered all of questions and concerns I had regarding this program 👍🏽
Thank you! Sorry for the jump cuts!
I just finished in a month and I work 10 hour days at least 5 days a week. I did it purely as an alternative source of information and enrollment to WGU. I'll have over 4 months of nonstop studying CompTIA exams by the time school starts and feel well on my way so far. The knowledge I've accumulated from various LinkedIn Learning and YT sources along the way is encouraging and enjoyable, though I'll know how well it's paid off in August.
Sometimes it takes time to see results from your effort. It will come!
What did happen in August mate ?
@@owlthetyto August was when I officially started school. I haven't yet taken a CompTIA exam, but they're just around the corner. I've knocked out both IT and Web Dev Fundamenals, and Ethics in IT, with my ITIL4 exam being the only thing I need to pass to complete the term. The tongue twisting corporate lingo isn't my cup of tea, but it must be done eventually. That's a bit more than you asked for, but there it is.
@@JudgeGideon823 keep us update brother!
What Degree are you taking? I was going to do this course after I take my CompTIA exam then enroll into WGU for cyber.
I always 😅 laugh when people claim "I finished the course in 7 days". It basically tells me they didn't learn anything and went to youtube for all the answers. I agree that it takes 2-3 months to complete if a person is really learning.
Yeah it is a lot of information
I was familiar with about 70% of all the info so basically most of the videos were useless to me. Not all people who start have 0 information so yeahh. depends.
@@itsjozef most of the information was knowledge I already had. If you’re new to IT you will take about 6 month to learn the material.
Looking like like is going to take me 3-4 weeks.
True, but I will say I’ve tested out of most all of the first 2 courses (out of the 5). They were very simple to me and I didn’t learn much. I did watch all of the videos though. I worked at Microsoft in IT support so I guess this was just an easy add to my cert list. The last 3 have been more enjoyable and have learned a few things for sure!
It’s so hard to concrete with all the editing and cuts
sorry I have gotten better haha
Agreed. She has this kind of tone about her voice that is kind of distracting. Almost like a ramp and a decline. I have been told that I do it too. Never understood until now.
.oO0Oo..oO0Oo..oO0Oo..
Yep only 3 min in and im out. Plenty others that don’t drive one crazy
I’m currently finishing up my masters in Information technology management, so I really need to finish this course since I have no experience working in IT. I appreciate the video - thank you!
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. Thinking of a career change with zero experience in IT.
You can do it!
I totally recommend the certificate. As an A+ cert holder it was definitely a nice refresher. I also recommend auditing the courses, going through all the material, and then sign up.
Thanks for sharing!
How do i audit the courses and its material without signing up first? Thank you
@@jja08 it's on youtube
The jump cuts really aren't that bad guys. I'm sure your editing will get better! Great video.
Thanks!
All the jump cuts in this actually make it seem like google cut different things she said together to construct there own review 😂
I am making a new one without jumpcuts!
Hi Nicole. Thank you so much for this review. I am a 27 year old old healthcare admin assistant wanting to switch to IT. I have absolutely zero knowledge and experience in I .T. Do you think going through this certificate will help me feel a little less lost when it comes time to study the A+? Unsure what my long term goal is but I’m currently interested in Cloud/ Cyber Security and Network Admin so I eventually want to do that. Sorry for the long post, like I said I an a newbie and I don’t know anyone in this field to talk to. Thanks again for the informative review!
It will give you a good overview to see if you like it or not. Some people have actually gotten jobs from it also. A+ is a ton of info, and I personally hated it! There are way more interesting topics than A+ in tech so I understand feeling at loss. This is definitely a better overview of IT operations and may spark your interest in a certain discipline that then you could pursue.
@@nicoleenesse not to mention a little cheaper! :)
This helped a ton. Thank you so much 🙏🏽 Ignore the negativity 👍🏽
Glad it helped
I'm currently taking the Google IT Support course now and I'm thinking of taking the Google IT Automation with Python course later on to better my chances of getting a job. So, I wanted to know your thoughts and opinions on the Google IT Automation with Python course, and do you have any plans on doing a video on that course?
That is my next course that I am going through!
@@nicoleenesse Sweet! I can't wait for your video about that course.
Python is definitely something you’re going to want to learn. I’ve programmed in C+, Java, HTML/CSS and Python is something I want to learn next.
Week 1 in a couple of days? Really? I had it done in about 2-3 hours.
Great review of the course, Nicole. For those of you w/ zero knowledge of this field, how are you studying? What are you using/doing to retain the knowledge presented in the course?
The course gives you everything you need to know and then just tests you after that.
Thank You for this video, I’m getting ready to start this course.
Best of luck!
Hi Shannon! I'm questioning starting out on this course. How is it going for you? Are you enjoying it? Any tips for someone who wants to get started for this?
@@richardcho93 Hello there Richard. I am at the end of the 4th course and getting ready to start the 5th and final course of the program. The program itself is okay but I don’t really feel like I have learned enough in order to pass the Comptia exam. I think more of a hands on program like at a technical college would probably be more helpful for myself but you may learn quicker or grasp the concept of things a little better than myself. Overall I do think it is a great starter to kind of know what you’re getting into and it kind of delves into many different branches of IT so you can kind of get an idea of what you would like to specialize in. I hope this helps. I definitely wouldn’t say that it is not worth it. It is a good starter for sure. If you do decide to take the program then I would love to hear your thoughts on it afterwards. 😀
@@shannonrenee5449 Starting it now actually! I'm about to take the first practice quiz. I think theres some parts to it so far that have piqued my interest; at least with the history of the computer and such. It seems great so far; going to be continuing for sure. Thank you for the reply!
I applied for the financial aid. Hopefully it'll be worth it for me. Considering I have zero IT experience (I'm a CNA), I think it will be more beneficial for me to have it than to not have it.
It definitely would be!
I'm a cna as well! I want something new, I've been a cna for 4 years.
You can start the audit course while you are waiting for reply which is after 15days
Same! I'm nervous because it's a whole different career path I know nothing about! Do you have an update on how its going/went for you?
Also a cNA definitely needing a career change
Came here from Shane Hummus' channel
Aye!
I’m almost done with this course and I’m just using it to get accepted to school but I honestly don’t feel ready or that I’ve learned enough to be an it specialist
Thank you for the video it was really helpful! All new to this & I feel less stress now after listening to you 🤙🏼
Glad it helped!
As of now it is $39 per month. A lot of cuts but thanks for the information.
Thank you! Working on my editing lol
@@nicoleenesse Yeah, you gotta start somewhere. Best wishes.
I think its a good course to enhance your knowledge and get someone job ready
Yeap, I agree.
Oh my gosh people have such negative comments. Being rude is different from constructive criticisms. Thank you for the Information.
Thanks!
Just started this course so I can get into the WGU cyber program. Hopefully this course doesn’t take me too long!
good luck!
I actually don't mind the jump cuts too much - It's really gets to the point and cuts out all that empty space!
and retains your attention! lol, thanks for the positivity
yupp
I'm enjoying your content. I've been trying to break into the field for about 4 or 5 months now. Trying to link my networking lnowledge from my military time to the basics for civilian it support is a headache.
Thank you so much for your review. I wanted some perspective from someone that knows about IT. One question, you mentioned that is probably not good for a desktop support job, what do you recommend to study for a Desktop Support job? Thank you.
I would go for the security+, although not specifically for desktop support it is the most widely recognized and would qualify you for a range of jobs. Microsoft also came out with Azure certificates that would be worth checking out.
@@nicoleenesse so you would say security+ is better than the Google IT support?
Wow Nicole this video is worth 1M dollars. It helped me to understand a lot of things I did not know.
Thank you!
I used to be certified in CompTIA as an IT Pro years ago ( only A+ ) but that expired in 2012. Since I had the classroom experience at an actual technical school including hands-on training and building and servicing computer hardware and software, I wonder if the Google cert would be ok for me as it is much cheaper than going back to a physical school again? Any thoughts? I let me cert expire and I became a sub-contractor working in new construction but it's killing my body being as I am now almost 51 years old. Even a cushy desk job answering phones would be preferable at this point.
The the google cert can help, and people have told me they landed jobs from that certificate. If you are aiming for a help desk job it will definitely help
Does it expire ?
Hello Nicole, I'm a sales supervisor looking for a change. My local university offers certification in cybersecurity for $4,500. However, this google certification is a lot cheaper and I was wondering if it's better.
I Just graduated not too long ago with a Bachelors in Information Systems, and I now have 2 years of IT experience with a software company doing general windows/network support. You said this is for people new to IT. With that being said, do you think it would be worth it in my case just for further job security? Or would it be pointless since I already have my foot in the door.
Thanks!
Depends on where you are trying to go. It is a good refresher, but most of it will probably be things you already know. A focus on an upcoming niche like security or cloud would be a more useful use of time.
@@nicoleenesse I see. I'm happy with what I do now, I would just like a little more security & have that little cherry on top for my resume if I ever look for another job. But I do agree cloud & security would be a good focus point if I wanted to ramp up my salary.
Thank you I'm about to start the course so this is helpful!
Thank you!
Just a quick tip: if you are at college and/or has a .Edu email, you can do the whole certification (not only this one) for free through coursera for students :) loved the video 💜 I’m doing mine while also studying for my finals 😂
Thanks for the info!
How did u unlock it for free? im signed in with me school email but it still asks for my card information.
I like your review Nicole however the new versions of Lennox specifically Linux mint are very user-friendly I've used it as a Windows 8 replacement and also used it when Windows 11 come out a home user can you use Linux but you have to put a little bit of time into it and have a brain between your ears I've used Linux since 2017 people generally run away from it because you have to apply yourself and work hard to learn it it is 2024 and I'm still learning stuff that's my two cents
Thx for info, im going to learn with your recommendation to proffesor preparation for comptia
Best of luck!
Do I need a computer for the course or a android phone will do it?
You will definitely need a computer
I mean realistically speaking, no certification is guaranteed to get you a job; there's a lot more involved than just obtaining a cert like you said.
Yes, it’s more about the skills you learn
Are sections of the course downloadable as I travel abroad a lot?
Because Coursera videos are pre-recorded, you can watch them on your own schedule. You can watch videos by streaming them online, or you can download videos to watch offline.
Great video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Holy Jump Cuts batman!
Sorry lol

i took this course in 2020 with no knowledge on IT, I've been struggling to find a job, and I'm a single mom currently jobless. is there any advise to where to apply to with this certification?
U probably wanna take more courses and possibly take a look at wgu
I'M SADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. I've been watching your videos and decided to go this certificate. BUT A STUPID QUIZ GLITCH prevented me from completing this certification. I emailed support and they said there was nothing that can be done. :(
I'm going through this on a 4hr youtube video. Is there a test for this or you get a cert after you go through the material?
Yes, you have to go to coursera
I don't have no IT experience is Comptia is a great way to start or cisco networking? Great video btw☺️
CompTIA is good to gain base knowledge. CCNA might be too much all at once
Does the type of computer you use matter(mac or windows)?
No, not for this course.
Am seriously considering taking this certification course but was wondering if there would be any issues with taking the course on a Mac vs. a PC?
No, OS doesn't matter
Hi, I am new to this and I don’t know how it works
Are the labs in-person or online?
this is 100% online
Very nice informative video, is AWS cloud praticetioner is a good certificate for someone who doesn't have any cloud knowledge and experience?
Yes! A great start
Dumb question, but if you have no experience, should I first start with the google cert or try the CompTia ?
go with the google cert
The video has a problem when you talk about the price... might want to re edit
Aha, thank you

I did it, I finished it, and I've been applying everywhere. No luck, but I'm not giving up either. In fact, I am ready to take on my next certificate already to be able to increase my hiring options but, I've been told to skip the Comptia A+. What are you thoughts?
I would skip the A+, and go for Security+. it will be more bang for your buck
@@nicoleenesse Thanks for the reply! Will look into it.
@@nicoleenesse So you're saying, after doing the Google certification in IT Support it would be better to do Comptia Security+ to get a job?
I'm looking into the Google certifications and trying to find something which does not require programming or coding. Any suggestions?
Hey do you have any updates?
I am set to go to Saint Pete College and take the help desk support tech certificate program. Based on what they are going to offer and the interaction I will get, is the course you are talking about the same thing OR is it sub par based on an actual college program?
I would say this course is equal to one course, not an entire program
A+ job search posting results on Indeed were over 50K. The Google IT support Professional Cert warranted 6 jobs....go figure.
Would this be a good entry point for someone looking to get into the security+ certification? Thanks in advance! 😅
Absolutely!
Great Video,
I am new to IT and was thinking about doing the data analytic certificate, in your opinion should I be doing the IT certificate first?
I am actually doing a video on the data analytic certificate. I would start with the IT cert to give you a general overview of what IT is. Then go for the data analytic one.
Many thanks-
so i already work at google but hired by as contractor in IT but we mostly do tier 1 support and inventory. Think this IT support cert would help me?
well seeing as google has said they would count it as a degree..i would say yes. But it also depends on where you want to go. This cert is geared to get a tier 1 job
Thank you so much.
I’m planning to take the A+ and wondering if the Google cert is good preparation. I already have a CompTIA ITF+ but barely passed it. How much overlap is there between ITF+ and Google cert and between ITF+ and A+?
It is a good base, but isn’t a good prep. It’s not detailed enough. Google Cert is fore like ITF+ . A+ is a ton of detail, Check out Mike Meyers on youtube.
It is not for only people with no experience, it's for people who need to pad the resume. People who worked their way up in a company without certs or degrees. Sadly paper is needed. This is the cheapest way to get a basic cert.
when you finish all courses under this topic, can we say you are an it support officer with all these certificates?
desktop support/ helpdesk jobs
mam ...is this certification is still useful to get a entry level job
Can i complete this certificate in 2 months i am not new and not a pro to this subject
I have been working for non it for 2.5 years and am taking IT Google certification course can you suggest me how to crack the interview after this course and where can I upload my resume through online mode. Thank you
Wait so are there any other google it courses that you could take ?
There are a few, this one is good for learning the basics of IT
Will they require you to take a test prior getting the certificate?
yes
why are there so many cuts in the video?
Hi Ben, need your opinion, I am a pharmacy graduate, having 11 years of working experience, during this pandemic covid-19 I have lost my job, still searching job. But I am not getting. So I watched your video, what do you think this certification course will help me to get a job in IT as freshers. Please share me!
Depending on how much work you put in, this will definitely help you get a job
which IT career is best for those personds who dont have university degre and they also dont like coding?
networking/ It support/ cyber
I passed this in 3 days was fun but very basic!
It among the best course of IT career
It is a very good course to begin with!
I have a Bachelors degree in health administration. I’m currently finishing the data analytics course. I’m switching to cybersecurity. Do you think I should take the IT support before taking Comptia a? TIA 😇
Yes! The A+ is a ton of details, and doesn’t give you the full picture. The Google IT Support is a good introduction to I.T.
@@nicoleenesse thank you, I’ll do that after this data analytics course.
Your presentation is really great but please do avoid cutting the video multiple times in the middle of each and every sentence, that sounds really annoying

Do i have to finish all 5 courses to get Google IT Support professional certificate?
Yes
Nicole does the Google IT Support cert expire?
Nope

@@nicoleenesse NO PROBLEM... Is there anyway to avoid doing help desk/tiers as a first IT job for those of us who don't want to be an inbound call IT specialist desk top trouble shooter, helping desktop user's fix common and random error mistakes and want to specialize down a certain path like cloud, security, analytics, etc?
In your experience are IT companies willing to allow individuals to do shadowing, volunteering, or interning if someone is already finished with college.

Hello dear Nicole,
I just finished with this course I do not receive my certificate, I am reading their help not when something.
Could you give me their contact because I already finished the course
Thank you
Hmmm, has this been resolved?
From my experience it does not help at all. Ive seen people with bachelors in info systems + comptia trifecta + internships struggle to get jobs in IT. Someone has to be a little nieve to think a certificate will help them at all
Depends on the employers and personality of the individual. It has happened
Great Video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Would you recommend getting knowledge on the A+ and get that out of the way before applying?
Ehhhh, I would go for the security+ if you also have the Google IT support Professional Certificate.
Why is there such a high turnaround rate for support?
Customer Service....
@@nicoleenesse I can totally see this being a problem. They probably have customer services scores to go with evaluations.
Can you suggest is COMPTIAA+ is better or this course is better to get a job .
Compitia is better and more recognized
Thanks highly appreciated...
Where do i take that ??? On google as well?
As someone whose almost done with the Google IT support course and having friends who've finished it well before me. It's not likely you'd get a job with just this cert. Definitely would though if you got your ccna or comptia certs on top of this one. If you're lucky enough to get in touch with a desperate employer who can't find people to hire you may get lucky and land a job. It's a great course though if you're hopping into IT with little or no tech know how. And it's one extra cert under the belt to add when looking for work. I have yet to see if it alone will land me a job. Probably not. Hasn't landed any of my buddies a job by it's self yet. Planning on getting my A plus though after I get this cert. Which I'd recommend others to do as well. Good bang for your buck though. Especially if you can get in when they offer the course for 40 bucks a month.
Thanks for the feedback
Did you get a job?
@@TheChris91173 no lol. but to be fair i havent looked for one since getting done with the cert. Im currently working on getting my comptia a+ cert so im focusing on that first. still not convinced id get a job just with the google one.
