MORE ABOUT FLULA!!
BOOM! Hallo to you! I am Flula Borg, a German Man of Adventure and Music and Many Other Items of Dopeness! You have perhaps seen me inside Pitch Perfect 2, or in my Automobile making Musik in my Auto Tunes series, or wonderings why Jennifer does poop at Partys (I still do not knows why!) Join me here for RUclips-Exklusive Content inkluding Vlogs, Celebrity Interviews, Dope Musik, Comedy Times, Drama Times, DJ Times and much many more Dope Times! See you soon and oh yes: DÄNCE!!
FLULA! I am the teacher and parent that you did this for! You are such a generous, kind soul. And you did a better job than I could do! Danke (Also my first name isn't Uwe, but my last name was Stuwe ((mit umlaut)), but I always thought that my parents should have named one of us Uwe, so we would be Uwe Stuwe)
Rebekah! Oh no I did say your name very incorrect! I am sorry I did only do one problem and not two, the video it was getting so long so my apology to you! And Thank You for sending! Also yes, hallo to Uwe AND Stuwe!!
No, no please don't be sorry. I am now Uwe.The teacher formerly known as Rebekah. And please do not be sorry about not doing both, your explanation was very elegant and succinct. You would make an excellent teacher! This remote teaching thing is kinda weird, but one way I get a few of my 8th graders to participate is by saying that if they get the problem correct I will say Michael Jordan is not the GOAT, LeBron is etc etc , but maybe since you are now the patron saint of our class, I should change it to statements about DIRK! Danke, again. You are a generous, kind soul.
@@rebekahbaril5554 I don't know. I think @Flula is the GOAT. He's super cute (not a talent but his personality makes him way too adorable), he's a comedian, DJ, musician, actor, etc... and on top of it all he can do anyone's math homework. What more could you ask for?! 😊
Uwe Stuwe is the kind of name that a legend would have.
@@svenrichtmann6792 Uwe Stuwe(and Luwe? like the donald and daffy ducks?) would be great as his dj name
I’m in my 30s and no one ever told me what completing the square meant. Thank you, Prof. Flula.
Same
Well thats because you probably never asked for it so why should anybody tell you. Its as easy as it is.
@@Tryomega7 lolwut m8? this is elementary school stuff, you are meant to be taught that...
@@zagarna this is literally what I was learning in college (for the first time) like 5 years ago
For Flula to be THIS GOOD at explaining math in his SECOND LANGUAGE is just insane. This is wonderful, please continue doing it.
OMG, 20 years after leaving high school, I finally understand the quadratic equation
This was competing the square... He didn't use the quadratic equation. They're used for the same thing though.
lol that's exactly how I feel right now. my teacher just told me to do it and it worked for some magical mathematical reason. Flula has unlocked the truth!
my school only give me the formula never really explain the geometry behind it. now i realized why i sucked at math because i'm bad at memorizing but good at understanding the concept after watching flula.
Am I high? You don’t need the quadratic equation to solve for X here. And that’s not the quadratic equation. Why is everyone acting like this. There is ONE variable here. Why would you use an equation meant for 3 variables edit:okay I hope I missed the joke. I didn’t like that weird warped Pythagorean theorem stuff
No shit..
me: is Engineering student who is currently in Calc III
also me: "let me watch flula explain completing the square"
Edit: What a great explanation of the proof of why! loved this
If you aren't already check out patrickJMT, this dude saved me in college.
Yeah I’m in Calc 3 as well, this was a fun way of watching simple quadratics being done. I’ve gotten so used to complex fractions, and way to many derivatives and integrals
I'm just graduating and I totally forgot what completing the square was used for cus it has been so long since I've needed to use it hehe
( also shout out to PatrickJMT. When I get a good job ima give him and the AKLectures dude a ton of money)
I have always hated completed the square! I am even going to major in math...
@@WarbossRB Is he funny?
If this quarantine goes on for a long time, we may have a Flula teached nuclear physics video lol
Yes please.
Rofl 😆
@TheSportsGuru Damnnn, astrophysicist to substitute teacher. That's rough.
Flula, I hate to be one to tell you this, but this is your calling in life. I have no love for mathematics, but these videos are so enjoyable because of you.
Absolutely correct. This changes lives, for reals. If our kids could learn such difficult subjects with such Grace and patience and clarity, they would be absolutely unstoppable.
I said the same thing! I stumbled upon one of these videos and suddenly I like learning math 🤣
"Schnippel....equals Blänkel" 😅
UGHS THESE PEN CLICKS IS SO ANNOY !! SORRY FOR MY PEN CLICKINGS!
I heard nothing 👌
i didnt hear them either I better watch again just to be sure though
My old ears didn't hear it :)
Flula. But I am enjoying the pen clicking! Comforting, it is. Makes the gears of brain start to get in gear for the HomeWerk.
Click away, its Okay! 👍🤗😇
You’re hilarious and awesome. Keep crushing
You’d make an excellent math teacher!
He is a math teacher. 3 homewerks in, I annoint him math teacher
wish I had someone like him....i hated math with a passion
Somehow learning maths I was meant to understand a decade ago from a German musician just feels so right ☺️
Toastwig agreed
I actually understood these concepts but the way he explains it it’s almost like I finally truly understand.
Everytime I open a Flula video, “Here come the fun time”
I've never seen that geometric explanation before. Very helpful Thanks Professor Flula!
Me at 1:30: Oh, he's actually doing math. I thought it was just a goof.
Me at 7:49: Mind blown.
german public education
@@zoesmybaby In my first reaction I wanted to say "No, that's not. I'm german and ..." and then I remembered 7th grade and 8th grade in my school. So yeah, you were right.
I didn't get this when I was 13. I didn't get this when I was 20. But now on the verge of 37, when Flula explains it I'm like, oh!!! 💡
I'm full-on addicted to this now. Thanks, I guess. Stay well.
Herr Borg, I must admit math scares me but I do enjoy your videos. They are informative an entertaining which I never thought I would say about math. Please continue with your awesome self.
PBS Kids programming team: honestly, scoop this guy up!
Warwick Moffat Flula on Cyberchase would legitimately be legendary...
We need more teachers like you!
Oh, okay, just watching whole math lessons just because I love Flula
“Homeverk. Send it to me. Homeverk. I vill do it. Dance!” Flula please spin up a full Homeverk track! That would be epic.
It's werk homewerk otherwise it won't werk
I swear you teach better than any of the math teachers I've had in life.
Flula how to do you remember all this math 😂
I think Germans are naturally good at maths because their heritage is used to building V-1 rockets
I was thinking along the same lines. In my version @Flula was an up and coming brilliant scientist and mathematician back in his homeland (because you know, they're all great in those subjects) but came here to DJ and be a famous comedian. Who knows? Maybe he's a spy! Dun dun dun.... 😂😂😂 Seriously though, the guy knows his stuff.
Not saying the German education is perfect but their priorities towards education & what is taught is vastly different than US
He knows it ... he doesn't have to remember it. I love Flula .... I suck at math.
I'm not German (i'm from Ecuador) but I studied at a German school. And really, I remember all this. And my teachers taught me like Flula (kind of)
That proof was amazing! It all makes way more sense now.
Why do I enjoy watching you do math? I mean I love math. But you just make it even more enjoyable. It's like you're a good dad that's just helping his kids with their homework and it's so wholesome.
I want to show you to my teacher so we can just watch you
My mom send me this thinking it would help me with my Calc homework, sadly it did not but it did help my brother with his homework😂
Flula should do all the maths!
Nothing ever has scared and entertained me at the same time as this
So Flula...
you are the first person I have ever enjoyed to be witnessing making the mathematics kind of fun exciting and entertaining, and even understandable. My mind is exploding in happiness! ( I was an Art major in college, so math usually makes my spirit bleed and my mind cry )
but you, kind sir, a game changer!
I you had helped with my homewerks when I was in high school, I believe many less D's would have been my reality! 😁😁😁 lol
Keep up the excellent Werk!
⚘🌟😇
O. M. G. So THAT'S what a quadratic equation does. So cool, Flula!
“I put my twos over ones for funsies!”😂😂😂
Aaaah Thank you! This actually helped (43 years old, and trying to finally figure this stuff out just for the heck of it)
I never thought there'd come a day where I'd be listening to Flula explain math problems for comfort and relaxation
this is the best math i had in 10 years!!!!! danke!
I am about to graduate college and I JUST NOW learned that they call solving a quadratic equation "completeing the square" because you are literally building and bigger square and trying to make it whole... Flula, why is it so entertaining to watch you solve math problems!?
I haven't had to use a lot of this since high school 14 years ago and your videos are breaking down those cobwebs a bit. Loving this series!
Flula you're my new favourite.
I'm an engineer and already knew how to complete the square but you have still taught me something.
Maintaining a patient and light hearted tone while explaining maths is a useful tool to not lose people (make their eyes glaze over).
I will try and use this every day
I just fell in love with flula’s kindness
I have no idea what you are doing and I'll never comprehend this level of math but I can sit here for hours just watching your videos because you are an amazing person and you make learning fun.
How are you not a math teacher you explained everything so well ! Thank you for helping all the children and parents during this difficult time 😊
Please make more of these instructional videos! You are awesome!
I am a middle aged English teacher who has no need to watch your Homewerk videos, but they are so quirky and engaging. I think you could have a future in this, Flula. You could be the maths equivalent of Mr. Bruff on RUclips. Keep up the fantastic werk. I’m now curious how you apply all this excellent maths knowledge in your day job.
FLULA! You make me have so much joy and giggles in my heart. I don't do social media but love watching your RUclips videos. Thank you for bringing joy into this world and into my life! Never sell out and stay true to yourself. XoXOxo
I no longer have the brain capacity for this.
me as well!
Me as well
I haven't had a math class since 2007. I followed until about half way through and then my eyes glazed over.
@@jerit7529 Same. I was in honors calculus in high school and enjoyed this stuff. It's all gone now.
@@jerit7529 2000 here lol
🌞if ONLY I had a teacher like you when I was growing up-learning IS fun-thanks Flula❤
💪Strong math skills
I watched your last math tutorial and it was so clear. I wish all teachers explained like you, clear with a bit of humor.
Damnit where were you when I was still in classes. You're an awesome teacher Flula. Love seeing you on Smosh
picturing the 1 sleeping quietly is such a good way to remember that it's there though
I love this series. Thank you, Flula.
this is actually rly helpful tyyyyy flulaa
Dude, I NEVER understood what quadratics were asking until your visual explanation! You taught me better in those 2 minutes than any one of my many math teachers, tutors, professors did in all my schooling. Thanks. 👍🏻👍🏻💋
I love this series!! You are a great teacher.
7:49 is the exact moment where my braincells made sense of the whole point of completing the squares.
amazing idea flula!... i love your maths videos. keep them coming. it takes me back to school...
Yay! I just commented on ep 2 asking for more! Thanks.
Great Concepts ❤️❤️❤️❤️
thank you flula, after many years I finally understand some math. PLEASE keep up your cheerful lessons. I feel like I can relax and understand. However I do need more help. Love you
0:12 “Quaran-tuned”?! Is this a hint? Auto-quaran-tunes? Ja bitte!
perhaps oh JA!
It's time for a quarantune!
Flula Or Car-a-tunes. Endless pun possibilities!
Also, how ‘bout Dance Monkey? Just four chords :) Tanze!
Hi Flula ! Would you like to become my full-time maths teacher?
Flula, you are definitely Oberaffengeil! Thank you for your videos! They have made quarantine life
Drei Käse hoch!
Brian Key Hehe, das nenne ich mal einen Ausdruck.
Thank you Flula!
Hi Flula
Hallo Adam!
❤️❤️❤️ you’re the best, Flula
Wow!!! How did I never get this visualization? Brilliant!!
This was great!
I’ve never been more enthralled by mathematics! Flula is the most amazing teacher!
Wow! I had never heard of completing the square. We were taught to use the Quadratic formula, which was kind of but not really explained. Even when I read and watched multiple explanations and algebraic derivations I can still never quite wrap my head around it. Completing the square makes so much sense, visually. Even when it's not always possible (not all quadratic formulas have (a) solution(s)) this definitely should have been taught before jumping to the quadratic formula. Thanks!!!
You are amazing, Flula
Extra points for not only finding the answer but proving why it works
I love this man.
you're such an inspiration, after watching your vids doing homework rn im motivated to do my college assignments
Been checking every day for a new math homework video. These are my favorite Flula vids.
This is amazing.
This is so great...the Thüg Life logo got me
hahahahaha......Flula is the hero we need right now!
I thought this was going to be a joke, but you for real explained completing the square. You would make a really good teacher
These Homewerk videos are greatest thing on the internet.
Wow!!! 😵😱😨
You just blew my Mind!!! 💥
You're the Best Professor!!! 👍😁
Thank you for the learning.
*Thanking you for the learny learning
I don't think these maths videos will ever get old! Keep it up Flula!
Thank you Fula!!! I am in my 20s but never paid attention in math and you have explained it in a way I can actually remember!
Und bin also a funny kind, that loves your humour, your comedy. Love you.
I am awaiting with eagerness the instructions on factorings the quadratic. Thank you much, Papa Flula!
Wow, did anyone else not know what completing the square meant until now? Awesome video 😃
Flula, you truly are a national treasure! Greetings from Bavaria :D
After all those math classes I took back in the day, I finally understand where that equation comes from. Your explanation was very good!
Thank you for this! You've taught me more in 5 mins then my teacher could 10 years ago
"Complete the square" aka "Quadratische Ergänzung". Amazing video, thank you. And triple thumps up for that last explanation with the pictures.
Looking forward to the Flula/Numberphile crossover!
math has always been my most loathed subject. Flula your so fun and awesome I actually enjoy these homeworks and I am learning from them as well at age 45! *hugs*
I have no idea what is happening. Math is still a mystery to me, but boy this is entertaining! Flula bring it to you every time! Danke schon herr Flulers
Flula, this is really amazing, thank you for posting Homewerk sessions. Your blend of humor and real knowledge create a dynamic that a lot of folks aspire to. Have you thought about making some videos for Khan Academy?
Damn I never saw it that way. What a delight to be educated about this by the funniest man on earth hahaha
I'm hoping for quaternions next! Thanks Flula!
I'm a junior undergrad engineering student and I just now learned the (b/2a)^2 trick (probably because the quadratic formula works in most cases). I always thought people used intuition or trial and error to complete the square… Great work!
Your explanations make more sense than any math course I’ve taken as an engineer; love this series!
WOW! brilliant! I cant believe no one ever explained it to me the way you did. Finally it's clear. (I am a 32 year old PhD student in Soil Physics).
I absolutely love it
Flula I'm strangely enjoying this. Thx for the laughs while reminding me how bad I am at math but improving!
