Superb! I love the way the railway is very natural and not filled with plastic buildings and figures. This is effectively a ‘real’ railway and it feels like one. A real credit to you. 👍👍👍
I love it. It’s so raw and natural like a jungle yet uses things you might find around a property like bricks and scraps. Not necessarily to scale but useful and appealing.
Yes. I'd love to know just how long it is and where it actually runs (garden? Parkland? Farmland?) There are also some quite spectacular engineering features which can't have been easy to build - to say the least. Thank you for a very interesting journey.
I just finished watching your video with the very inventive, maintenance of way weed eater. That was very cool! And this video just popped up as well. I remember thinking during the other video that I sure hope there’s a cab ride view through the jungle. And voila! My wish has been granted! Thank you for sharing!
the weed slasher made the path for the train just the right size to make it feel like a jaunt through a forest. like it was a purpouse-built railway line in said forest. the rocky tunnels and the little things like the wood on the bridges gave it all that "human-scale" that i feel is hard to pull off with miniature trains.
Are you kidding me?!?!?!?! This has to be the coolest railroad I have ever seen and I need a schematic or layout of it immediately, I also need to know if these other tracks are abandoned or actually functional and just need to be trimmed. I also subscribed immediately because this is absolutely amazing. Sorry for my demands, but this is absurdly awesome.
I do need to make that track diagram! This video covers basically the whole main line, the other tracks you see are sidings or crossing loops. They could be restored to working order if the vegetation was slashed, but they're mainly used when other people come over and there's multiple trains running at once that need to pass each other.
I feel like I'm on my way to find a Lost Temple filled with gold and treasures and this is the first journey through an ancient place before the real adventures begin.
Luckily no, the most common cause of derailment is hitting something on the track, and at least the tunnels protect from that. You can kind of get access if you really need to, though it's pretty awkward.
Fantastic to see you back Alexander! Have you considered a "weed spray" train? I know you don't wan't to kill off the scenery, but maybe a bit between the sleepers now and the? Anyway, another beautiful run with "Melbourne Sparks" . Cheers Gregg.
The actual answer is it just wouldn't make much of a difference. There's a big risk of off target effects, and most of the weeds are invasive oxalis introduced from Europe which regenerates from underground tubers so herbicide is ineffective.
@@melbournesparks3828 That's true I guess, plus what effect would the sprays have on the rails? Also watching the weed wacker train is far more fun! Gregg .
It features in a couple of previous videos, including this one: ruclips.net/video/3cQdbo-G6MU/видео.htmlfeature=shared I'm certainly planning to make more tram videos (and build more!) in future.

The setup of tunnels, bridges, and tracks is an art!

This must be the longest & most spectacular model railway in theworld! Thank for sharing it

@@tominnis8353 It's all in his back yard. And yes, one of my favourites too.
@@JasperKloek Thank you for that. It seems to go on forever (it must be a massive back yard!). Amazing!
I just saw that he says in another comment that the line is about 130 metres
Lovely stuff! I think we might be needing a diagram showing how this all fits together (and where some of those tantalisingly glimpsed sidings go to).
Not dull at all. I remember my time in Oz 1968/9 and the winter in Melbourne was freezing cold. Loved the video, more to come I hope. Thank you.
Yeah this isn't the best time of year for garden railways unfortunately.

How big is the overall property? How long is the railways? Lovely video.
@@tm502010 The line is about 130m long, or 3.1 scale kilometers.

Spectacular views of your layout, as always. Thanks for taking us on the ride.
What a beautiful and indeed quite scenic route 🤩
Like riding through Jurassic Park! Wonderful details!
Very nice, and the ending with the leaf blower topping it off made me laugh, Thanx so much
Superb and sublime. Felt like I was there. Thank the weedeater train for sure!
Great video as always. Thanks for posting 😃
Excellent excursion! 👍👍
Nicely done, I enjoyed the ride. Kind of felt like that movie with the shrunk kids,
I really enjoy riding along on your railroad. The way it changes over time makes every video different and fun to watch. Thanks for sharing👍👍👍
Love the view. The "weeding train" video peaked my interest 🛤️
So much fun. Thank you for the ride on your train
Man that is so cool! Is like going through the jungle, but in miniature form!👌😂👍👉❤️ Thanks for the ride! Looks like a ride through Jurassic Park!!🤣👍
Beautiful. I've never seen an electrified model train before.
Awesome layout, I especially loved the video on the (Trimmers) for the vegetation
That is so cool 😎 ❤.......love your garden railway!
This is absolutely beautiful
The old magic is still alive and working ✔️
every few seconds my brain goes "holly molly, this is a big ass plant!...... oh no, i'm just a 1:24 guy"
So much atmosphere!
Sensational project!!
Phantastic ……..thank you for showing .
DUDE! Thats amazing.
Great video...👍
Awesome stuff, Imagine how terrifying being that size in Australia!
Very soothing
Great vidio, like the grass tunnels. Thanks for the morning coffee...
Had to see the railway after it was cleared by the coolest weed eater ive ever seen haha
This is amazing
love it!!
Awesome😊
I wish I could just shrink down and spend a day riding around the tracks!
gorgeous

new video!! like opening a present!! yippee!!
That has to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing garden railways i've seen in a while.

Super. 💙 T.E.N.
It’s like a railway through a prehistoric world with the size of the plants compared to the train
Define DULL. I had a wonderful time.😊
I feel like I'm on my way to find a Lost Temple filled with gold and treasures and this is the first journey through an ancient place before the real adventures begin.
Kinda reminds me of videos of Penn Central
Cool Video Thanks
So these are powered by the overhead catenary line and picked up by the pantographs?
sure are!
Hey! Love these tram videos. Just wondering what type of wire you use for your overhead?
It's about 1mm copper wire, from old mains multi core wiring.
@@melbournesparks3828 OK! Thank you. I'll track some down for my trams.
Do you have many derailments inside the tunnels? I'm wondering how easy they are to access if you need to retrieve something.

Are you in the Melbourne area? Nice outdoor tramway!
Picton, NZ.
yes, Melbourne suburban area
I had meant to ask, but do the overhead wires actually power the engines?
Sure do! All the electric trains and trams are overhead powered.
@@melbournesparks3828GET OUT THIS IS AMAZING 😭🔥😭
is this a garden railway, what is the motive power?
\
It is! This train was powered by a diesel locomotive (actually battery powered) but most trains are electric powered by overhead wires.
I feel like I should have paid for that trip. You should get a Patreon account and sell tickets.

Great railway .
How long ago did you build this amazing railway?
It looks all so grown in, which makes it perfectly natural!
What gauge is it ?
it's 45mm gauge, sometimes called G gauge
