"Looks better in person"??? - I'm sure it does, but to my eyes, it's fantastic ... can only imagine - the in-person view must be breathtaking ... you have a right to be proud of this work.
A truly magnificent layout that showcases your skills as modellers, as well as what makes On30 such a great option. The backdrop and trees are masterfully done to create the illusion of depth and make your layout seem far larger than it is, and personally I think the skyline of trees looks more spectacular than having a higher mountain. For someone who hates making buildings you are doing a great job of them and the framing in the interior of the little bait shop will make for a really lovely interior - can't wait to see how that turns out. All the best from a couple of gals recreating a little piece of Minnesota here in Melbourne (the one in Aus).
As you have stated your video does not do your exceptional modeling justice, nothing I can say would do your work of art justice as well. I am beyond impressed! Even though it is not yet quite finished, "Well done and congratulations!" to everyone who has worked on this version of the Lilliput Logging Layout. Exquisite Modeling, People! Bravo! Thank you for the update, looking forward to future updates.
Absolutely wonderful, so creative and not huge, a set of cameos. I think a glass of moonshine watching trains on the layout would top it off, although a few wee drams of Balviinie sing malt scotch would really do it justice.
Thank you! We've been working on it for about 2.5 years. I think this sized layout is JUSSTTT big enough to finish in a reasonable amount of time... We are on track to finish it by the end of the year
I love making buildings and have a collection and a large tresle bridge waiting for a layout.Constantly looking for inspiration and i think i just found some .Great layout with wonderful details and goes to show what can be achieved in a limited space. We havent all got space for a 200ft mainline run,
Looking great! Just starting to get to the scenery stage on my son and I's On30. If we can make ours look 1/16 as good we'll be happy. Once again, great job!
this is incredible! can you do tutorials on how you do your scenery, like trees, rocks, ballast, the logging camp and forest floor. simply amazing! well done
Thank you very much! I was a little nervous at first we may have gone overboard with the static grass, but nearly all of it gets covered up with ground cover, what bits of static grass do show through, you're glad its there!
@@Seanmmvi you’ve inspired me to put a logging layout on my bucket list for when I retire in a few years. Not sure what scale yet but On30 looks neat! Would be quite a step up from N scale!
@@pacificcoastminiatures I watched this video which inspired be to begin this layout, it's worth a watch. " You don't have to be old to be dead, if there's something you want to do go, go do it". I wanted to build this layout so we got after it. ruclips.net/video/SEIWJXQDQpM/видео.html
This is too funny. I am in the process of building the similar layout. Mine is under trainmaster bond on the other social medias. Need to check this out.. This is just too funny.
Please tell me about the trees 🌲 🌲 near the log hoist. They are so life like, especially the trucks. Did you purchase them? From whom? Im building a small HO scale diaroma for my daughter and I'm searching for nice trees that won't break the bank. Thanks and take care!
"Rip the mountain in half" yes, I understand having to take a 6 level helix down to 4, because my wife was too short to see the scenery on top. Lots of work & rework underway.
Yes, indeed! All these trees are a bit under sized, but by our estimation, anything over a 10" tree appears to be quite respectable, even though that's only a 40' tree, relatively small for a spruce tree
Looks fantastic. My only constructive criticism, is the color chocie of the facade. I feel like a dark olive drab, or a very dark warm grey perhaps, would appear more cohesive, which would then “disappear”. Other than that, the layout looks truly fantastic
We are going to repaint the facsia when the scenery is done, there are some inevitable paint and glue dribbles that get all over it, I tend to agree with you it should be a bit darker!
@@Seanmmvi touchups are always necessary, no matter how careful we are lol. You should check out the Sherwin Williams color swatch “ Iron Ore “. It’s what I used on my facia and visible bench work. I think it would look incredible, with the overall tone of your layout. I would call it a very warm black ( like a muted vandyke brown almost, if that makes sense lol ) Anyways, the layout looks KILLER
Hi there! This is some fantastic work. Really really nice. I must ask though: where did the track plan come from? I built an N scale layout around 20 years ago with almost identical track layout. Mine was adapted from an HO plan I found in Model Railroader magazine. The plan was called The Lilliput Logger I think.
Hi Chis, we used hogs hair filters and cut them to a arrowhead shape of varying sizes, glued them to tapered dowels, did some shaping with scissors, then painted them brown and added the flocking. I am going to try to make a video on our process. It took about 3 months to build all the trees, but I think they turned out just great. Thanks for watching
It is a slightly modified Lilliput Logger track plan by Iain Rice. It was originally drawn as a 4x8 HO plan we stretched it to 5x10' for On30. There is a track plan on our Wandering Spruce Facebook page 😁

Well done scenery. Layers do work. Trees always transform a layout. The layout is very "photogenic". Thanks for sharing.
I would love to see this rolled out into your driveway and photographed in the natural light.

Truly a piece of art. Beyond amazing. A joy to behold. I'll be excited to see the finished masterpiece. Bravo!
Very well done! The the scenery transition to the divider/backdrop is beautifully done.
Amazing job!
I just came across this. Seeing Ian Toce’s Lilliput and logger come to life is amazing!!!
Absolutely wonderful, so creative and not huge, a set of cameos.

Beautiful. Tank you fr mentioning the tree count and layout size, my wife now. Believes me as to the number of trees I'll need.
The scenery is well done! I really like the forest floor and the special oak tree. Realism is important to me. Good job!
Great work. One suggestion is the base of the trees, they need to be broadend and flard at the bases.
Detailing a model train layout such as this is a new mode of artistic expression. You are an artist, not just anybody can do this.
So true, I could make everything, but dont have any of the vision, nice job
Layouts looking great, fantastic job of making the trees, really pulls the layout together. 👍
Great work! You have set the bar at a new height!
amazing work, that backscene blends in perfectly.
Just come across your channel, just brillant, goes to show you don't need a large layout! Trees look fantastic, 👍👍👍👍👍

Use your imagibation, like he did. P.s. redwood bark and an old coffee grinder are essential .
The foliage is brilliant, very convincing!
Hi, thanks for sharing your extraordinary layout and realistic artwork. This also my dream to try to create something like that.
Well get after it!.
Lots of “Railroady” in a small space. Well done!Very well done 🚂🇺🇸

Looking great, Sean and Kevin! Super inspiring work. Congratulations on how well everything is coming along. :-)
New to your channel. This is a compact yet incredibly detailed layout. Excellent work!
Thanks! Wait till we actually start adding the details!
Love it all, you're on track with all aspects of the layout.

Glad you like it, thanks for watching!
Beautiful work. Exceptional.
Maybe the most incredibly realistic layout I've ever seen...
You need to look up the Hangman Creek layout in that case ;) You're welcome
Great detail, a lot of work....looking forward to your next update, thanks🚂👍👍
THANK YOU FOR SUPER DETAIL LAYOUT AS DID GREAT DETAIL ALL LAYOUT AND PLAN TTHE DETAIL

I do like your conifers! very nicely done!
Glad you like them!
Excellent job. Good idea with castors.
This looks like so much fun! Amd a lot of work!
Monumental! Adding a few critters in the forest might be cool. Sure hope you don't need to dust that?
Love the verticality in this layout!
A truly beautiful layout, well done
Bautiful work looking forward to the stream installation.

Impressive work....a suggestion....a few more dead trees or/and a small group of dead trees, or a post-forest fire scenario....
Hello , maybe could add a few sections to be able to run some trains. Nice lookout points , n where is bigfoot ?
Seeing this, I'm starting to think, proper O-scale trees would be huge.

great job. maybe you can show some moving engines\trains in future videos?
Yep, definitely. The track is just super dirty right now from all the glue.
Enhorabuena, buen trabajo
Cool loayout dude, looks great 👍
BTW this layout dispels the myth you need a humongous amount of space for O scale.
Gorgeous
That looks awesome.

Complimenti bello veramente bravo 😊😊😊
Great work - really cool - thanks :O)

It's Peco flex track and turnouts
Very nice.
Museum quality all the way
Very impressive. A bait shop seems a little out of place?
It'll all come together with the details
…Excellent!
Klasse Darstellung! 👍
Very realistic!
Okay, this is awesome
Will you be adding switch stands?
No switch stands, just the toggle switches
Amazing!
Thank You!
wow i m so impresed
Epic!
