I love the fact you have taken the COMPLELY CORRECT decision to 'do' the UK, rather than pretending that London is the UK.
YES!
I am glad you enjoyed the burger and pint of stowford I sent, I recognised you as soon as you posted, glad you enjoyed man
✌🏼😎✌🏼
Dangerous giving an American cider when they're not used to it! I've seen Americans literally shit themselves after a few pints of proper scrumpy. lol
Good on you for treating our boy Spence!
Well done man
"It's a burger, it'll do" sums wetherspoons up perfectly
Wouldn’t be seen dead in a Weatherspoons.
I honesty read this as he said that 😂
@@fayesouthall6604 why not? Its a pub like any other albiet a chain but still...
@@fayesouthall6604 perhaps sit your elitist butt down & try coming back to reality
@@fayesouthall6604 Why would you be in Wetherspoons if you are dead?
I mentioned this on Patreon, but it was me who ordered the banana 🍌😅
All I can say is bravo sir 😂
Really made me laugh 😂
Fuckin legend mate 😂😂😂
Lol
Legend! 🍌
Spencer, these videos are excellent. I do think you are making the best attempt to live life like a real
Brit, it’s seems like more a lifestyle and culture Vlog rather than a travel vlog. Which is testaments to you.
Looking forward to seeing the rest.
Loving how you’re fully immersing yourself into our history and culture, Spenny!
I want to see a reaction vid of Daniel and Spencer watching the videos
Thanks for coming to Cardiff! That pub that you had a pint in at St Fagan's Museum was at The Vulcan pub, which - like all the buildings at this great outdoors museum - was taken down brick by brick and then reassembled on the museum grounds. You had a unique tourist experience sitting outside Wetherspoons all afternoon getting drunk! We'll have to give you honorary Cardiff citizenship for that! Enjoy the rest of your tour!
and he got nothing to be sorry about,we have all been there in that spot in that pub :) we should make him a key to Cardiff
Great pub, I remember it being open at its original place 😀
@@c0wbag49 Yes. I drank in there over many decades and had a last pint in there about 2 months before it shut in 2012.
Wow... well I have to say I respect this man immensely.. many Americans come to the UK and only focus on London, or if they are adventurous they may go to Scotland and Ireland, very often bypassing the beautiful country of Wales. Cardiff is a fabulous city and Wales in an absolutely gorgeous country... well done than man, respect.
Sugar before the milk. U need boiling water to dissolve the sugar. Milk cools it down
Tea is best with no milk & no sugar.
Nononononon
Bollocks. Sugar dissolves fine after milk
Glad you enjoyed your time in Wales. I hope everyone was friendly to you! 😁🏴
Seagulls singing the song of there people 😂😂😂😂
MINE!!!
*Their? Or...over there ?!
You crammed a ton into each day over here and really gave this trip your all. Must have been really tiring travelling and taking it all in, but you gave it a good bloody go!
I’ve watched your channel for a long long time . Spencer I think you are a natural travel blogger too. Your sense of humour makes it a cut above most.
most don't realise that a UK pint is bigger than a US one
They don’t have the head on it.
I think you already seem to fit right in over here! Well done for staying strong and open minded and having yourself some fun! - It's all about perspective / mentality. : )
Love that ur necking the pints ! A true brit experience ❤
tipping the hat to the cenataph was a nice touch. dont know how many picked up on that but thank you and i hope you are enjoying your stay :)
You seem to be very easily slipping into life here in the UK, Spencer. I'm enjoying your relaxed-style videos. I wonder if the London ones will be as laid-back. Looking forward to seeing more. 😊
Please take care when descending down the stairs. They are quite steep. I recommend descending backwards.
It's great to see you enjoying Wales. If you had waited until August, you would have had the chance to experience full on Welsh culture at the national eisteddfod.
I’m expecting to see a very foggy headed Spencer on tomorrow’s video 😂😂. ‘Spoons should come with a health warning ‼️
Beamish is in County Durham.
So funny watching you getting drunk on the British alcohol 😂
A few years ago, protesters had a cunning plan to bring Central London to a standstill by constantly pressing the buttons on pedestrian crossings during rush hour. They did not know that pedestrian crossing are all on timers. So that the wait time is set according to the time of day.
wow, that was certainly a heavy session at the Wetherspoons!
One of the best 'American in Britain' type of videos I have seen! Down to earth honest and having a great time, I am also a big fan of your reaction videos too, I hope you had a great time and your liver forgives you lol.
Welcome to warm, friendly Cardiff, Wales! Croeso y Cymru! Hope you have a wonderful time! 😊🙏💞
The banana is for scale x
I like the pint/scone count, but you may have to do a fish & chips and burger one too, by the looks of it.
Glad to see you visiting my home town. Cardiff is an awesome city. Big enough to have everything but small enough to retain it's character.
Definitely a city-sized village!
Glad you took your time relatively speaking taking buses and walking. It's way more chilled than flying or taking the train everywhere and gives you a chance to take it all in. Hope you tried out the Greggs Steak Slice at some point too, that's a banger!
Glad you come to Wales the pub u went into in saint fagans was by Cardiff prison they knocked it down and rebuilt it over saint fagans 🏴
It may have been chilly but be grateful it was dry. Every time I’ve been to Wales it rained 😆 Loving the videos ❤️
Defo looking worse for ware with those pints. Went to St. Fagans on a school trip back in 70s. Hilarious watching you getting pissed at Wetherspoons, as least ppl got u food too. Have a great time xxx
glad youre liking it here
The age restriction on high caffeine drinks isn't part of UK law, it's just an initiative by certain UK retailers including Tesco.
I'm here for drunk Spencer! 😂 I'm sure he got pissed on 4 pints lmao love it so funny watching the meals & drinks keep coming at the pub. Loving the videos 😊
Fantastic that you got to see the old buildings in St Fagans, and you got to have a pint in the Vulcan Pub, which has not been open for long.
I remember that pub when it was located in the centre of Cardiff, near the city's prison.
It was very popular with football fans when the FA Cup was held in Cardiff for a few years.
Spencer, when you were sat outside Wetherspoons, over your right shoulder was the famous Caroline Street, otherwise known as chippy alley, next time in Cardiff, make sure you go out on a friday night and finish off with supper in chippy alley.
Sunrise in, say, London, is approx three hours and twenty minutes earlier at this time of the year compared to late December, and sunset is about five and a half hours later than in late December. Loving these UK videos so far btw. 👍👏👏
I am really loving this little trip!! After all the pints, it makes sense why we need to walk as much as we do!! Lol!! Glad you had fun!! And really loving your upbeat attitude! xx
This video made me smile. It also opened my eyes to the reality of travelling to our neighbouring country across the sea (Wales).
The Welsh sheep probably didn't understand your American "baa"ing. Fair play on getting the bus rather than an Uber
I love all this. Here is why. By the way I also follow you and those you follow. Watching and so love your honest views. Clearly you are totally understandably out of your comfort zone which for me is great. BUT At some time there is going to be a time of looking back and reflection. I will be waiting when it all sinks in. :)
Bonjour. Embrace, you shared stunning ! ;)
So cool to see you in Cardiff! I kept checking if I could see myself in the background! The castle has gigs most nights in July, last night was Avril Lavigne 🔥
Just seeing you get hit with all those drinks and food! Classic!
By the time I got to the Wetherspoons game I realised you had the UK nailed down! Hope you had an awesome time
Love the way you've done this Spencer
Retrospective...the voice over...the scenery
Seeing parts of the UK most of us haven't seen
Brilliant! 👏
Hi from Oz Spencer - great to see you going to non super touristy places!
The sun comes up in Wales the same time as it does along the same latitude. Early in Summer and Late in Winter.
Excellent video glad I found you doing a proper tour of the UK unlike most tourists .
You know how to cross the roads by pressing the button BUT next time you press the button put your fingers on the base and you'll find a small piece of metal , this turns slowly when the lights are/ go green this is to let blind and deaf people know that it's safe to cross the road .
Diolch am ymweld â'n gwlad! Thankyou for visiting our country!
Enjoy your trip Spencer 😊
Brown sugar in tea! That's a first lol
St Fagan's! Excellent.
Hope you enjoy your visit!
Spoons! 😂😂 your eyes were bigger than your belly. 😋
You've nailed it! Travel 1st edit later. Hard to believe you're thousands of miles from home, you look like you belong. ❤ please stay.
I work near that Wetherspoons - fun to see you embrace the game.. St Fagans is always a good visit-at least you had decent weather- the rain gods were good to you!
lol I have watched all your blogs so far and there seems to be a pattern emerging here that includes lots of beer 😀
Newbridge war memorial, and elsewhere is the Oakdale institute. Memories from the 80’s come flooding back every time I go to St Fagans.
Thanks for visiting Cardiff Spens, great choice going to St Fagans my house is only 5-10 min walk away from there, enjoy the rest of your trip 👍.
That weatherspoons part was hilarious 😂😂😂
Crying with laughter, Spencer. Loving the vids.
I live about 1 mile from St. Fagans Castle. 😊
For your blog...Watch 'This "Country' hillarious
Nice to see you learning how we live over here
I went to cardiff for Liam Gallagher and had a fair few pints in the Prince of Wales before the concert, what a place😅
It's good for a few cheap pints (that aren't being sent via Facebook haha)
he’s like someone gave gizmo beer instead of water
I still can't believe you're in Wales. I was a teacher and took my class to St.Fagans every year. They identify historical buildings, houses, churches, schools, farm buildings, etc. from different centuries, purchase them, then dismantle them brick by brick and rebuild them in St.Fagans Museum as a way to preserve them for the nation. They film a lot of tv programmes there, eg. Dr.Who, Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch), Poldark, plus so many more, because of the variety of historical buildings in such a small, compact area. Cardiff is also great for a night out!
Had many a drunken night in Cardiff, it's about 50 minutes away from my house on the train , so quite a few people will cross the border to spend a day or two in Cardiff on the Weekend, a great place....I still have a Key Ring from St Fagan's Museum, I got it on a school trip there a looong time ago. :-)
Its really surreal to see you almost literally go past my house on the bus ride to St Fagans. That Wetherspoons had been a theatre and then an adult cinema before being converted to a pub. If you linger around there on a Saturday night you'd probably have a similar viewing experience...
I'm following your journey with interest. I'm from Newcastle, was in London for my birthday this weekend and will be at Beamish on Saturday as my son is camping with the cub scouts. Hope you have good experiences.
Weatherspoons game was like the membership challenge
@13:37 Banana for scale.
Looks like you are embarking on a UK pub crawl!
Credit to your parents. For raising such a lovely lad.
I have fond memories of visiting st fagan’s museum, it was over 40 years ago 😳
Glad to see you gradually evolving to British culture, plus I do think going forward it better to edit and post your content after your trip like you did .Next time I’d swerve the weatherspoons pubs no normal person i no goes as food and atmosphere is bad, other than that getting better, just worried how much you missed when you get to Liverpool by not hooking up ,maybe next time👍
Polen levels very high in the UK at the mo'.
Wish I’d met you when you were here. 👍👍🏽
I used to work in that 'spoons you visited! Excellent pub. Love your videos.
Love your videos - wish I knew you were coming to Cardiff & Swansea ! Glad you enjoyed - should have spent more time in Wales!?
Wow, that was such an amazing day, and you are soooo organized and so well prepared! Except for the Whetherspoon Game. ;-)
Now I want some loaded chips from Wetherspoon's.
ahhhhhhhhhhhh memories . family town , home town
You probably came through Hereford on the train back to London, and though I mentioned it yesterday, the cathedral is not only worth a visit because it's nice, but also to see the chained library and the Mappa Mundi (oldest known world map). Quite happy to meet with you and show you if you make it back to the UK again.
I’m really enjoying your journey. 😊
I'm enjoying the fact you're going for a far more humble and down to earth experience.
Though the UK for sure has some great posh swanky hotels I'm sure, it's not really the world that the vast majority of us live in. The types of people you meet will give you a better idea of humour, mindset, outlook, attitude etc.
Despite things a nice cuppa, or fish and chips being cultural staples here, I'm not sure if most of us would actually be aware of things like National Fish and Chips Day so please don't take any lack of heads up as a snub.
For instance, it's only after moving to my current city about 10 years ago did i discover we have a National Talk Like a Pirate Day. And that i discovered after they brought an 18th century whaling sail ship to the pier dressed up as a pirate ship.
I wouldn't be surprised if every day of the year was some kind of National day, National Jam day or National Bicycle Day or things like that. In some ways those hidden gems that aren't grotesquely commercialised are part of the kinda understated mentality here.
Which areas are you headed to? I'll see what kinda sights you may like. Are you looking for military history? Medieval ruins? Cultural history (you visited Abbey Road Studios i saw)?
I remember years ago, me and a few mates were on our way to Alton Towers, and halfway there, it said on the radio it was National Gnome Day, and if you brought a gnome to Alton Towers you would get in half price! Needless to say, we stopped off at the nearest B&Q and bought a gnome each 😂
@@whitedwarf4986 see? I love some that bonkers surprises🤣
Love to see you in my hometown - and playing the game! Quality!
This was brilliant!
If you return, Spillers Records shop, founded 1894 is the oldest or 2nd oldest in the world (apparently D’Amato Records, Malta founded 1885).
Yay ! Having Fun Spencer ?? If you Get to Cornwall (Which you Must ) Give us a Shout ! If you like Real Ale , I can take you to a 16th Century Inn at Helston called the Blue Anchor , their Brew is called Spingo it carrys a health warning !! Take care Graham
If you do go to Cornwall/Devon or Somerset, try to Scrumpy cider, but be careful it is very strong. Also, next time you're in Tesco, try a meal deal.
Good man! Hope you have a good time!
There was no need to press the button at all. Traffic was light so just cross on red if it’s clear. Saves holding everyone up. 😊
Going to St.Fagans, you went passed my house on the bus 😄
IK pints (20 fluid ounces)are bigger than US pints (16 fluid ounces)
Interesting you are going to Beamish, there is a similar place in the Midlands called The Black Country Museum which was used for some scenes in Peaky Blinders. Love how say route, in the UK we say root even though the spelling is the same. Enjoy the rest of your time here :)
It wasn't just the chips that were loaded by that point.
Have to admit I feel like going for a pint too after watching that.
Ah the sounds of Wales, sheep and lambs in the Spring! more sheep than people! I miss it so much!
