Selling a beginner art kit at an animation studio-focused museum or park is a great idea, they ought to do that at Disney parks or museums, maybe sell a variety of options in different price ranges and different mediums (pencil/charcoal, watercolor/gouache, acrylic/oil, etc)
I agree. Even though the prices would be higher than getting them individually at an art store, it would be fantastic to sell. I remember going to MGM Studios in Disney. If they had a kit for drawing animation (pencils, paper with pegs, etc) that would have been an extra awesome thing.
That’s how I started teaching myself how to draw and paint because of all the pretty things being an artist came with. For me it eventually led to me learning my creativity, not sure if it would happen for everyone else tho
Hi! I love your video! Thank you for sharing; it is very helpful. I am traveling to Tokyo and I'm wondering if you happened to come across any crochet hooks. Where can I find them? Thank you so much!
My fiance had gone to Japan with some of his friends several years ago and brought me a Ghibli Museum sketching kit!! I have since been using the Holbein watercolors, and I am *very* pleased with the quality of the paints; I think you will enjoy using them :D
That illustration book was so gorgeous. Thank you for including enough information for me to commence a determined google search. Japanese illustration and art in general is on an entire other level. The amount of genuine inspiration, creativity, skill and pure talent is unreal. I love any and all books and exhibitions that cover anything to do with it all. Incredible.
Thanks for sharing this! If you don’t mind saying, how big were your luggage while traveling there? I am going there in two month and don’t want to restrict myself with things to bring back, but feel like it might be really hard to navigate cities with a very big suitcase (or two small)
I brought a carry on luggage, large backpack and then a duffle bag stuffed into the carry on luggage (to use as I purchased things) if that makes sense haha We had joked about purchasing new luggage if we acquired a lot of stuff during the course of the trip (or shipping items home) but in the end it didn't come to that But I will say I packed quite light knowing we'd have laundry at certain accommodations Hope you have an amazing time!
You got so many amazing items in Japan. I’m so jealous. I’ve always wanted to go to Japan. Your Duffy ears are so so cute!! I love the Duffy & Friends merch even though I don’t have any. I have some of those little figurines. There’s a store called Neko Stop at my local mall and they have all kinds of those figurines and I try to buy one every time I’m there. The figurines are so cute. I’ve started to collect them. So far, I have three.
Such a fun haul! I got suckered into Disney ears too after EVERYONE was wearing them and merch. I live right next to Disney and no one ever wears them, so I've never felt inspired to get them.. until Japan. They know how to enjoy themselves at theme parks. Your first video was SUPER helpful in planning my trip last week, so thank you!!!
I am in love with that sheer jacket you got! 😍 I'm going to Japan next year and I'm excited to shop but not sure anything will fit me. What was it like finding clothes that fit as a westerner?
Thanks so much! In most western clothes I'm a L-XL and I'd say that yes a lot of the clothes in Japan are small/one size but there's some styles that are meant to be oversized for them but then ended fitting me :P I also did come across some places that did carry multiple sizes so it really just depends! But yea, be prepared not to fit everything haha
If you get dark undereyes the retinal eye cream from beauty of joseon is rocking my entire world and is pretty affordable. Even though its a retinal product ive been able to start on it without any problems as long as i moisturize after it soaks in. It's the only things thats made a pretty big difference for me.
much to say in my brain once again but most importantly,,,i agree. I'm afraid the catbus is simply too iconic!!! it wins me over even more than totoro 😅
I just got to go to Sekaido in Shinjuku and immediately looked for their gouache section! They really are so affordable here in Japan, I got a student grade set- and it was only like 900-1,000 yen. I haven’t had a chance yet to go to Harajuku- I’m excited to go there but scared I’m going to find clothes I want/love but can’t afford to get rn 😂. TMI, I literally just spent so much on cute clothes from Uniqlo 😅. Also, I swear I saw that art book in Shinjuku, where the Cinnamoroll Cafe is at! It seemed like a pop up event of some sort where there were several+ extremely talented anime artist with booths set up. 😊 Sorry for the over sharing- but I’m excited to see your next vlog! 😊~

A haul is always fun, but a Japan haul is just awesome 🤭
Perfect vid to watch with my breakfast 🥰🥰🥰
Love your work!
The Holbein watercolors are so fantastic, if you're a fan of their acryla-gouache then I'm sure you'll enjoy those too
So basically a protip: go to Japan and get a sh!tton of Holbein Gouache
She’s living her best life, I can tell. 😭😂

I'm the least creative person ever and am without a single artistic bone, but I want that watercolor set so badly now!!
That’s how I started teaching myself how to draw and paint because of all the pretty things being an artist came with. For me it eventually led to me learning my creativity, not sure if it would happen for everyone else tho
Never too late to get into a new hobby!
The Sake Kit Kats are surprisingly good! Beautiful and inspiring haul! 🗾🎑🎏
