Dodge made this car in accordance to their audience; younger generations that listen to music with high bass. Listening to classical music is not what the sound system was designed for. It was designed for rap, new york drill, and that type of music.
If you want fullness, the best option is to upgrade all the speakers and go with an aftermarket radio. I did the radio in my 17 charger SXT with the apline system in it, and there was a noticeable difference in sound quailty compared to uconnect. It also has the speakers that came in it from the factory
Interesting!! Sounds better than the harman system in the TRX. But any factory system is shit. You want proper sound you have to buy quality aftermarket components.
Yeah that tracks with my experience as well. I did a side by side comparison of the HK and the Alpine systems and honestly the Alpine was significantly better overall. Great vid.
I'd have to hear this system in person but it doesn't sound great though RUclips. My Optima has the 10 speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Quantum Logic surround, it's the best system I've heard in a mainstream ( mainly midsized) sedan. Haven't heard the Mazda 3 Bose yet unfortunately.
@@TheMazdamn I would like to disagree. The bose in the fourth gen sounds MUCH better than this poorly-tuned Harmon Kardon. Frankly, there's not many HK systems I have been impressed with.
The Harmon system in the charger consists of 11 speakers and one subwoofer that actually looks like a speaker as well . 3 3.5 midranges in the dash, 2 6x9 in the front doors, 2 3.5 mids in the rear doors, 2 6x9 and 2 3.5 in the rear deck along with the 8 inch so called subwoofer LOL that is it, nothing under the seat, that diagram is off 😂 they should call it what it is a 12 speakers system, this unity stuff is bunch of BS
Logic7 surround sound just isn’t good to me. I’m sure it’s customized among the different makes and models but most of the cars I’ve heard it in sound really strange/not good
What other vehicles have you heard with logic 7 surround? My Optima has Quantum Logic surround and it doesn't sound strange or hollow at all. Definitely better than Bose Centerpoint
@@kyron2092 mercedes, BMW... I agree quantum logic sounds good to me. I have it in my Volvo S60 w/ H/K. BOSE centerpoint also is meh especially in the models you can't adjust the amount of surround in.
@@christopherrmcg glad to hear you enjoy that system in your Volvo. I just read that Logic 7 is the predecessor to QLS, so it makes since that QLS sounds better. I wish Dodge would've properly refreshed the interior of the charger extensively, along with its sound system that just doesn't cut it, especially at this price point
@@kyron2092 BMW still uses Logic7 in their new BMW's - I have no idea why! This brands MO is bass, it's been like that since the Boston Acoustics system I heard in the Magnum SRT-8. Listening to this system in a challenger which has an even crazier sub setup, the bass is intense but the mids-and-highs are hollow & harsh which ruins the whole system as DM sound noted. You're right these get too expensive to have such poor mids/highs & surround sound.
@@christopherrmcg I 100% agree with you and this is prevalent with a lot of American brands. They've always aimed for bass heavy music that lack dimension and dynamic range, and I guess people who buy those vehicles don't mind it lol. But bass isn't at the top of my list when it comes to what I want from my system. It's very important don't get me wrong, but sound stage, surround, clarity, depth, richness and smoothness of sound is before bass for me. What's at the top of your list in terms of what you want from your system?
The only sound system I need is a good sounding exhaust system :)

Knowing that Harmon Kardon got an S tier this year, this is quite disappointing. The sound is hallow and lacks depth.
Can you try to get a charger with the alpine to see if it's better?

Thank you so much for making this video!
I couldn’t even listen to this at above 5 volume I don’t know what Harman did but it needs to stop

The 2016 murano platinum had Bose and it was so bassy but sadly had to sell it bc my head gasket cracked and was to much to repair
The mazda 3 bose is spatial, but nothing more. It's not impressive. MUCH better than the stock, for certain. The Dodge HK sounds a lot better.
Wait till u try the new harman kardon on the bmw

Can you try the new C Class burmester 3D
I wanted him to do this too.
I don't have it on my c class unfortunately tho.

Turn up the bass
Yikes that interior looks ugly.
Typical with Chrysler shitboxes
