    Great informative video thanks for taking the time to show us i decided to replace all of mine to kicker too but i ran the 6x9s to a amp and kept the (3) 3.5s on the radio because of the hands free. Getting the 6x9 wires through the front doors was the big pain

      Thank you, I appreciate the support and I'm happy it proved to be helpful. I bet your system is sounding good now! I actually added a rear deck subwoofer, replaced the rear deck 6x9s, added a kicker solobaric L7 sub box with two amps to that cars system. I filmed some parts of it but I didn't like how it turned out so I'll probably film a different video installing them in my 21 Blue Widebody. Stereo stuff can seem intimidating but if you like doing it and get to understand it a bit, then it's really not that hard to do without paying a shop thousands 💸💸💸

      Thanks for the comment. I actually purchased an Indigo Blue 21 Wide Body Scatpack with the Harmon Kardon. I agree the bass is lacking. I feel the range of the Harmon Kardon system does has less high level distortion than the Alpine system. At one point after it warms up I am going to add a couple amplifiers, Kicker L7 sub box, as well as replace the deck subwoofer and 6x9 speakers. What brand/model of subwoofer did you end up going with as the replacement?

    The 6x9s in the doors “can” have plenty of sound, the factory setup the doors are low passed. You’d need to use a amppro to get perfect rca outs so you can feed dsp or amps and make a huge difference in the sound of a charger

    Uh you know that by paralleling the new center speaker with the driver's side speaker you dropped the impedance from 4ohm to 2ohm right? You know that right? There's a high likelyhood that the stock amplifier can't go to 2ohms and you'll cook that channel. You know that right?

    I put this off for a while remembering the same problem i had in my last Charger. When charging the dash speakers. I hate those things 😒

    • @Shintodragon

      Yeah the problem I had was with the little rectangle brackets connected to the plastic straps. If those don't get centered in the frame holder then the male pins won't push in. Took me a minute to understand why the weren't clipping back in

    Who you a video putting 2 8 in sub woofers in back ? What front speakers would you change them out too ? Can you put speakers in back doors?

    • @Shintodragon
      @Shintodragon  Год назад

      Thanks for the comment. I have been going with the kicker L7 speakers in a ported enclosure on my last couple of chargers. I'm actually going to do a video on installing that and replacing the rear deck 6x9's and an 8 inch woofer here in the next two weeks. To add an external amplifier you need a LOC (line out convertor) You can change the front door speakers with some 2 or 3 way 6x9s however factory wise they are tuned to be more of a bass/mid speaker so swapping them out I think will lose some bass and not gain too much unless you add an amplifier to the door speakers. The easiest cleanest way to add speakers to the back door would be to get some new door panels from a junkyard for a charger with the Harmon Kardon and run the wiring to an aftermarkt amp. This next swap I'm doing is on the Harmon Kardon system charger so I'm going with Kenwood on the 3.5s and rear 6x9s www.crutchfield.com/S-WStHOog1SM3/p_113X3C/Kenwood-Excelon-KFC-X3C.html?awcr=625786852719&awdv=t&awnw=g&awug=9029679&awkw=kwd-646414742359&awmt=p&awat=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlumhBhClARIsABO6p-yZRzgQ-Q3ERK6_2pHXTQOVaptSkEWGq7SGADYv-yFuRa1za_fCFeYaAtn_EALw_wcB

    • @Shintodragon
      @Shintodragon  Месяц назад

      @@walteralvarado3640 the factory amplifier is under the driver side dash basically vertical under the parking brake pedal. You would want to add a line out convertor and a separate Amp in the trunk powered from the battery in the trunk. Previously I used the rear 6x9 to get the line out convertor signal to add an Amp and subwoofer.

    • @Shintodragon
      @Shintodragon  Год назад +2

      Thanks for the comment. The new speakers do add a lot more higher frequency range to the music. If you have the factory Alpine system then it is considered a 6 channel amplifier. The way I wired it has the front passenger and center speaker are on the same amplifier channel, while the drivers side dash is on a separate amp channel.

    • @Shintodragon

      Awesome! Thanks for the comment. EQ settings will really depend on your personal taste. I fade my personal system to the back 2 ticks, bass up 1 or 2, mids up 5 or 6, then highs up 6 to 8 notches. In my narrow body scat, I have replaced the rear deck 6x9s and have a L7 sub box with aftermarket amp to both 6x9s. Depending on how your system is you may find that fading to the front a couple notches might sound better. I have not done the sub and amp in my widebody scat yet. Should be able to film that as a separate vide here shortly so stay tuned.

Middle speaker with 2 or 3way tweater would be good with the factory stereo. You can always add amps and replace the speakers if you need more sound/power. Just the soaker upgrade would be a good improvement in the sound quality.

    • @Shintodragon
      @Shintodragon  Год назад

      Thanks for the comment. You can add 2 way or 3 way in the doors if you want to. Because they are lower in the doors it won't be as large of a sound improvement with those in the doors on the factory amp... Maybe even less bass. The rear deck 6x9s face upward so you get more robust sound with 2 way or 3 way speakers in that position. Crutchfield has a guide to show what fits that you can use www.crutchfield.com/g_400/All-Car-Speakers.html?tp=105&l=C I'm planning on doing another install video for the rear 6x9s and adding a subwoofer box as well so look for that video soon.

You could add a line out converter tapping to the rear and add a 3 channel amp to new 8 inch woofer and new 2-6x9s in the rear deck. I am going to do this soon in my charger and film it for the channel. The best way would be to do a full factory amp converter bypass with all aftermarket amps to the speaker's however that is a more involved process. www.crutchfield.com/S-od6KJ0eXLEH/p_541AP4CH41/PAC-AmpPRO-AP4-CH41-Aftermarket-Amplifier-Interface.html?&XVINQ=BIF&cnxclid=16905242379633850360510080302008005

      Thanks for the comment. I basically moved one of the factory corner speakers to the center empty cavity and added wire tapping it into the passenger side power. This will make it so you have the two new kickers in the corners and the one factory speaker moved to the center. The alpine and standard systems do not come with the center dash speaker just the empty cavity for it.
