Wonderful Review. I'm interested in the Tata Safari Jet Edition, but I'm hesitant to buy because its available in Diesel only. I need your suggestions whether to go with the diesel or should I wait for the the due facelift Tata Safari 2023 that allegedly comes with 1.6 Revtron engine. Plz suggest. 🙂

Thank you for appreciating 💕 Ajay, I feel safari is meant to be a big engine and big car, I mean personally I don’t feel that 1.6 engine should go along with such a beast design language. Though, they are coming with 1.6, I can only say at this moment that wait for sometime. Let’s check out this new edition and then we will decide.

Most important thing I feel to go for XZA instead of other variant is, it comes with auto hold feature ( which is bi product of electronic brake) so the best of it is sparing your right foot in big traffic jam. Else, only going from manual to AT is like sparing your left foot from clutch pedal in manual to engaging right on brake.
In my opinion this is the only thing which you cannot get in after market. Baki yar dekho, ultimate decision according to the pocket bhi hota hai
Han manual aur automatic me recommendation is automatic big vehicle can take you into clutch plate issues.

Infotainment system response is little delayed, but manageable And 360 camera is a major miss.
Apart from this, in terms of handling, driving, everything one can expect from a SUV, Safari has everything and it shines ✨

@@boywithtravellingbag i actually meant issues like steering wheel going left, car not getting start, turbo engine leakage, sunroof getting shattered by a small pebble..
Infotainment and all are cosmetic..can be lived with..but not when the car is in service centre for 20 days in the first month itself

If you want power, modern design and high tech, I will suggest you Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari (this is where I fall, I mean among these 2)

I m planning to buy the XE i.e. base variant of Safari
It comes with 16 inches steel rims
So, is it advisable to change them to 18 inches with or without alloys
Will this enhance the ride quality and handling, What about pot holes and breakers ?
Any advantages or drawbacks if you could share
Or should I stick with the 16 inches steel rims ?
Hi paapisadhu, Thanks for the compliments , definetly this motivates us to deliver whatever best we can.
So coming to your point,
Default tyres in XE are 235 / 70 R16 with Rim
Whereas in top model XZ it is 235/60 R18 with Alloy.
Recommendation will be you should upgrade to alloy of 18" and then upgrade the size of tyres to the 255/55 R18 which will have benefits definitely, I will breakdown the suggestions into following for my recommendations:
1. Rim to Alloy:
a. It will cool down the brake pads faster (due to gap between alloys)
b. Rims are heavier, and alloys are light weight (if not going for heavy ones).
c. Increasing the size of alloy will reduce the weight of tires too, hence profile will reduce too, of what benefits I explained below.
d. It will help you in better cornering also.
e. Ride height will also increase.
2. Reducing the Profile from 70 to 55 (not going beyond this size as with that you will lose practicality) and increasing the width to 255 from stock 235:
a. Increasing the width and lowering the profile will increase the traction and accurate power delivery to wheels (will reduce the skidding) and provides the grip to the road.
b. Body role (major issues in SUVs as CG goes up) will also reduce (I felt negligible in the car and was feeling confident while cruising it for 130kmph even)
c. Braking also improvised as great traction will provide more grip to the road hence braking with all wheel disc brake will have every bite on the wheels.
d. Steering feedback improves you will feel confident cruising at higher speed (I felt for a, b,c point of this section when I was cruising it for 130kph)
Considering the above dynamic changes, you get more massive looks and appeal.

Actually I had booked Carens prestige plus Deisel on 14th January 22, (the day Kia commenced bookings for Carens)
I m sure you are aware of the price hike fraud by KIA
Long story short,
I cancelled the booking😎
Carens is certainly a wise economical option but not something to be excited about.
It actually is a stretched Grand i10 😂
So I was looking for some options around 17-18 lakhs on road, especially for long distance travels.
Considered Xuv700 but after paying around 21 lakhs you still don't get essential features like Cruise Control, telescopic steering,reverse parking camera etc
And unlike Safari and Carens it's not a practical 7 seater
Also, the eternity waiting got it out of the equation.
Earlier I was just considering the base variant of Safari as the cosmetic elements provided in the higher variants are pretty sloppy.
Like the infotainment system, camera quality, the speakers etc.
So it's better to get the after market installation which will certainly be better than what the company offers.
I actually was not very serious about Safari XE
But your reply has got me all excited.
So pls guide me if my decision is correct or should I go for some higher variant, may be automatic or
some other car for that matter
My priorities are
Comfort
Riding Pleasure
Decent fuel economy
Missed one thing. Khare- When we will have our ride?

Avoid buying any Tata Vehicle. Hype created on social media about Tata Donations or charities are all fake. Don't get carried away as they don't care for their customers. I purchased a new Tata Safari and on the suffering end. AVOID BUYING ANY TATA VEHICLE
