  • Опубликовано: 7 сен 2024
  • Airdate: January 14, 1967
“Standing in the Shadows of Love”, the follow-up to the 1966 #1 hit “Reach Out I’ll Be There”, is at #7 this week and will peak at #6 next week. The Four Tops (one of my all-time favorites) made Four appearances on Bandstand in April ’65, Nov. ’66, Oct. ’76, and Jan. ’82.
Regulars spotted today: Pat Moriarity, Jeff Stein, (0:39), Don Sanuskar (0:51), Daniel Campos (1:00), June Strode (1:24), Leonard Smith (with June Strode at 1:55), Mike Klein & Lori Montgomery (2:04), Famous Hooks (2:45), Marcia Silverman (2:50), and Maureen Cohen (2:58).
….And tomorrow, Jan. 15, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (only 9 miles south of where AB was taped today) will be the very first AFL-NFL World Championship game. The Green Bay Packers will go on to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in what will later be known as Super Bowl I.

Sadly true, but its our youth we're really missing. Everything changes constantly. The brief moment of the 1960s was as different from the 1910s as it is from the 2020s.

They along with The Temptations are still revered in England and Australia. They stayed together longer than any Group in the History of Music. They started out first as The Four Aims. Abdul Duke Fakir did a UK Documentary called "I'm In A Boy Band" while Mary Wilson The Supremes did a Companion Show called I'm In A Girl Group.

Excellent... I'm most impressed with the album that this was released from, "Reach Out" because 6 songs were released and all went top 20, including this track, the previous hit, "Reach Out..", "Bernadette", "7 Rooms of Gloom", "Walk Away Renee"(previously a hit for The Left Banke) and "If I Were a Carpenter"(previously a final top ten hit for Bobby Darin).

Angelique the LP "Reach Out" was the last album by the Four Tops released on the Motown label to be produced by H-D-H...and the Tops most successful LP release. To this day I still amp up the volume to these H-D-H productions. Fresh as ever background vocals by The Andantes and instrumentals by the incomparable Funk Brothers.

@@dancerdon9175 Next to their 1967 Greatest Hits album, I agree. It's a shame that The Andantes didn't get enough recognition because of the vocals that they brought to many recordings but I'm glad that I can read about them. The Funk Brothers.. I'll have to see the movie that was made about them because they are incomparable!

It is sad contrasting the size of the average teen boy or girl in 1967 or even 1987 to today. Something has gone seriously wrong with our diets and lifestyles. In 1967, less than 5% of American teens were obese. Today that number is over 20%. Insane!

The code is shown on the tickets . No I go into the city on Saturday nights, and there are very well dressed people of both sexes at popular pubs. Teenagers fundamentally have not changed . I should be laughing at how pathetic you are for saying the false idiocy that ABC's Television Cemter right in the heart of Los Angrles denied or resticted people from attending because of race or a multitude of other discriminatory reasons. But then, you can't even do a correct number count for your racial groupings on the TV view or admit that little error. No wonder you stay ignorant, can't and don't even try (or lie) to defend your false statements with any facts or evidence & just type "ha, ha, ha". Actually opening your mind to thinking could be dangerously life-altering to realize your heads full of cr*p & you've been wasting a good part of your life.

Like around the kitchen table give the RUT A REASON for loving. Clairvoyant Comp or Voit Comp empathy testing fail. I should put on a big turk because she like it that way. Nolo's Legal dot com would not agree. Living in a big neighborhood RUT like a Bison without love. How you spell get into a fight with the Turk next door. Debbie Dolezole and the poverty line. A Debbie is a Hogathaw of female professional traits. I really should of beat him only Frank might of beat me. So There! Brian A Koller
