    My family and I stayed here way back in the summer of 2005. We loved it! My kids were only 7 and 5 at the time. It was a magical vacation! I hope to re-live it with grandkids someday! Thank you Disney for the wonderful memories!

    I first went to DisneyWorld when there was only the Contemporary and the Polynesian. It still takes me back to childhood when I go or see it. I think the grounds maintain a slightly more minimalist modern aesthetic.
    And Nixon's big "I'm not a crook" speech was given in a Ballroom at the Contemporary.

    • @TheMouseScout

    Great Video, very well put together, straight to the point, quick.
    I did notice that you brought the saturation of the video all the way up. you can tell from when youre around people, their faces look tomato red.
    I imagine you did that so that this place wouldnt look as drab as it actually looks.
    The whole reason that i searched for this video was because I came across a promotional picture of this place from when it first opened and my first thought was "i bet that look didnt age well" then i looked images on google and my hypothesis seemed to be correct.
    All the images made this place look old and drab. so then i looked for videos and luckily yours was the first one i clicked-on since you packed everything up so neatly.
    I was glad to see that they did rejuvenate the place a bit. and the rooms looked great. but Istill dont imagine myself staying there. it has too much of a "corporate look"
    Im still glad the place is still open and that it didnt go to waste.
    it probably has a lot of potential. It would be cool if they leaned in more heavily on that sheek 70s aesthetic that they have going on. if they got rid of all the 90s decorations that look like they came out with a shopping mall. and replace them with 70s style decorations but updated to modern taste.
    they could also introduce a lot more lighting to give it more color and warmth. maybe add some large modern LED light fixtures to make it seem more modern, while retaining the vintage look.
    if it looked nicer, I would have loved to have a dinner date in one of its restaurants all dressed up in a sleek 1970s suit like i was going to a cocktail party.

      @TheMouseScout  Год назад +1

      Hi heroedeleyenda05! Yes, I’ve been working on my color lately. I was using the auto color correction in Premiere Pro, but now I’m making sure the saturation doesn’t change and working with vibrancy if I feel it needs a little more oomph. Hopefully you will notice a difference on my recent videos. Thanks for your thoughts on the Contemporary too. You hit the nail on the head saying it has a “corporate look”. I think that is the best description of the resort. Although I really loved staying there for the proximity to the MK and the restaurants, I would completely agree that they should lean into the 70’s aesthetic. And, if you do someday ever dress up and take a date to California Grill, but sure to send a picture!! I enjoyed reading your post. Thanks so much! Ked 😁

      I know it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I did love staying there. Did you consider the Poly? It may have a more romantic feel to it. Nonetheless, I hope you have a WONDERFUL honeymoon!! Congrats!! 😃

      @@TheMouseScout We did think about it! The Contemporary is just a bit more financially “within reach.” We figure that since we’ll be spending most of our time in the parks, aesthetics don’t really matter much! I think the magic of the parks is romance enough, and she agrees. (It’s her first time and I’m PUMPED)

      Our Honeymoon in 1991 was at The Grand Floridian. It was just a few years old( been going to Disney since it opened) we stayed at conch key and our room overlooked the magic kingdom! We could hear the train whistle from our room every morning! Watched fireworks from our balcony and sitting on the bed eating popcorn! I love The Contemporary but honeymoon … ya gotta go Grand Floridian!!

      It's overpriced and the Rooms-to-go decor is just hideous. A LOT of people on Disney message boards have expressed how tacky those rooms are. I wouldn't stay here even if the rooms were 20% cheaper.

    When you say book early (restaruants), like how early?

    • @TheMouseScout
      @TheMouseScout  10 месяцев назад

      Right now, if you have a Disney Resort Hotel Reservation, you can book your for your entire length of stay (up to 10 days) in advance of your hotel reservation. If you do not have a Disney Resort Hotel Reservation, anyone can book up to 60 days in advance (you would have to book each day as it becomes available into your vacation). Reservations open at 6:00 am EST. This is advisable for those hard to get reservations like Space 220, Topolinos, Be Our Guest, Cinderella's Royal Table, Le Cellier, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, Ohana, California Grill, Narcoossee's, and Victoria & Albert's. Otherwise, just keep checking for any reservations you were not able to get up to the day. A lot of times, people cancel their reservations and one may open up for you. Hope this answers your question! Let me know if you need any clarification. Thanks @timchan334!

    Having such a hard time finalizing my decision between The Contemporary or Art of Animation for our party of 5 (3 adults) 🙁

    • @TheMouseScout
      @TheMouseScout  Год назад +1

      Wow! Those are very different resorts with very different amenities. Contemporary is more luxurious, has very good restaurants (Steakhouse 71, California Grill, Chef Mickey's), and monorail transportation. If you're going to spend more time at the Magic Kingdom, it's an ideal choice since it is mere steps or a monorail ride away. You can also take the monorail to Epcot, switching monorails at the TTC, which is the next stop on the line. Art of Animation has buildings that are more spread out and depending on what building your in, you will have more walking within the resort to do. Also, there is only one quick service restaurant. It does, however, have access to the Skyliner, and you can easily get to Epcot and the Studios. So, are you going to spend a lot of time at the resort? If so, I can recommend the Contemporary. If you are not going to be spending a lot of time at the resort, Art of Animation may be a better choice with a lesser price tag. Hope this helps! Thanks Jacinda.

      @@TheMouseScout Yes, we’ll have 2 full rest days and 1/2 a rest day since we’re doing MNSSHP too. So resort amenities are a must. I’m just nervous that my kids won’t love the theming and will wish they were back at AOA. They’re always talking about staying in “McQueen’s” room! The price difference isn’t much going from value to deluxe in this case but again just nervous about sacrificing an extra bathroom and extra space to get “deluxe perks”.

I live in the Bronx and u said “the grand concourse” referring to the main floor i was like yup I just had to pick a busy resort that reminds me of home lolll 😫🫣😩 I guess it’s just the NY in me lolll I can’t wait to be here tho it looks up my ally even tho not tropical which is my vibe
