  • OK Guys, it's time to take a look at the 2024 NHL draft. There are soo many talented young players that are going to be available this year.. and UNLIKE the 2023 draft.. I feel less "invested" in some of the prospects. But in a good way ofcourse.. Let's take a look! Who would you pick if Macklin Celebrini is already off the board and you were given the chance? Cayden Lindstrom? Ivan Demidov? I wanna hear all about it!
The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

Berky Catton all the way. Based on your results, ppl are sleeping on this kid. I live in Kelowna, Iginla is WAY overrated. Lindstrom missed most of the season with back issues in his D year. That's a massive red flag. But besides that. I think his IQ is very questionable. We don't need another Jason Ward.
Putting Catton into perspective. His ppg this year was 3rd highest for a WHL player in his draft year in 20 years. Only behind Bedard and Reinhart. And this with total DOGS for teammates. 2nd highest scorer, Roulette (an overager) was a ~60 pt player until he was traded to Spokane. He got 108 pts.
And ppl say he's too small. He'll likely end up around 5'11" 185lbs. He's not afraid of the dirty areas. And he even beat Iginla in a scrap this year. But the pure skill and IQ is ELITE. Great skater. Very fast. Great hands and vision. And he's a very competitive kid. I highly recommend the recent video put out by David from Elite Prospects and also the interview David recommends at the end of it. This kid will be a star. Mark my words!

I’m with you on that one , back injury at 17 and not having the most impressive stats , looking like the next Kirby Dach , nothing wrong with Kirby Dach ……..when he actually plays. As for iginla , not sure what the hype is about .
It’s too bad the habs drafted reinbacher last year , cause Silayev is the next Chara. I’m aware I’ve said many times that the habs can’t draft anymore d-men but it might be worth it to trade Guhle in a package to get a good forward and draft silayev, those big Russians are a bitch to play against, and that guy is the biggest of em all. Think about that for the future when you face teams that have nishuchkin or Rempe ect ect
Imagine a defensive core looking like this
      Silayev-Mailloux

As of now, his shot, as elite as it is, is his only tool. And unfortunately to become a consistent threat in the NHL and be worthy of a top line role, he needs to develop other tools. And maybe I'd look like an idiot not taking Ivan at #2, or maybe Lindstrom becomes a top power forward like he has potential to be. Then again, maybe I'm just too old school minded since being small isn't as bad as it used to be, since the game is so much less physical than it used to be... idk. Dach, Slaf. These are the two top 6 guys with real size. It's 2 out of 6. Better than the Habs usual of 0 in 6. It's a good start, but we need more. If your team has speed, size and talent, you become extremely hard to play against in the playoffs. I've been dreaming of having a team like that for 30 years. @@s.b.3275

I just ran tankathon 7 times and not once did the habs go up in the draft. I have no faith that they will get anything better 5th. Most likely picking 6th or 7th.

Calgary wants Iginla so we trade down with them as long as we don't win lottery.
Calgary gets Montreal 2024 1st rounder.
    Calgary gets Jordan Harris
Montreal gets Calgary 2024 1st rounder.
Montreal gets the Florida 1st rounder next year.
Montreal gets the Calgary 1st rounder next year with elimination of that weird draft rule with the Monahan trade. No protection if Calgary or Florida wins the draft lottery next year we keep the pick.
With this we now have 2 first round picks this year and 3 first round picks next year which is supposed to be a better draft.

If they pick at 5 or 6, I won't lose my mind if they take Dickinson. I am leary of Eisermann (I heard he could be another Hoffman). I won't be mad if they reach for Iginla.

I'm not that interested in Demidov but I'd be fine with any of Parekh, Catton and Iginla. In the event of getting 2nd overall, I would seek to trade down.

Habs can easily trade up. Switch picks and offer picks and players to make the move. This becomes easier if the team above wants a D pick, We can send them Baron a Ist Pick and switch their pick for a 5th

You really need to see how Cotton plays, he is outstanding. Better then Couley, fast, quick, good skating, amazing hands, amazing skills and really high IQ. Lindstrom has potential of being a Brady Tckachuk, power foward for series. Demidov is the new talent of Russia, if he is available this is the first pick we have to take. We may have the chance to take Demidov because Montreal is the only team that doesn't need centers or D on the top 5. Iginla is good but more about top 10 then top 5. Eiserman is the youngest talented sniper in the roaster, but has maybe an attitude of an Patrick Lane. My top order foward is: Demidov, Cotton, Lindstrom, Eiserman, Iginla.

Dont need another Kotkaneimi. Too many question marks on Lindstrom. The best floor is Tij Iginla. Go for the obvious and not overthink it like they did with Jesperi instead of Brady Tkachuk. Demidov would only be available in top2 not at 5-6-7
The better question is who they draft at 25 overall?
Beckett Sennecke looks marvelous, same talent as Lindstrom and size.
