Slushdog 101 In my opinion, Katniss was always in love with Peeta and had a soft spot for him but only realised it when she thought she was going to lose him.
If he hasn't tried to reverse the rule at the very end, there wouldn't have been an uprising. By changing it he allowed them to openly defy the capitol.
Kori Jenkins no the rule change had to happen because they only wanted one victor. The rule was imposed in the first place so that the tributes betrayed each other and to show the districts there is no real solidarity. However he failed in bringing only one victor and broadcasting a moment of defiance on live television which is why he was killed.
He was partially responsible for the deaths of 22 children, but I do gotta admit that being locked in a room with no actual food and not being able to get out has got to be a horrible way to die. Not as horrible as getting torn apart by mutts or slowly bleeding to death after having a spear thrown into your stomach, but oh well.
we can also thank Seneca Crane and Haymitch for our star crossed lovers' victory. If they didnt set them up so that they have motivation to team up and save each other and live longer, they would not have survived that long
Haymitch knows firsthand the horrors Snow will do to people he thinks "show him up" in the Games. He's trying to protect Katniss from what happened to him, his family.
If you're thinking this scene is wonderfully cute it's because you didn't read the book. The movie is fine, but the book is so much dramatic and romantic (as Katniss wishes)
This is one of the few scenes I think they actually did a good job in. I think ultimately showing Seneca Crane robs us of the atmosphere and unpredictability of the games, but having the bowl of nightlock in an empty room is a great touch, yes the book does it better and keep a level of chaos unseen in the movies but for what it's worth this scene is much better then one's like Snows visit to Katniss' home
I have a feeling that Katniss, at this point, liked Peeta a little bit but she was so scared of what could happen that she buried them until the end of catching fire. And honestly can you blame her? Her parents loved each other a lot but that wasn’t able to prevent Mr. Everdeen from dying. After he died Katniss’ mother went into a deep depression to the point she couldn’t get out of bed which forced Katniss to be the sole provider of three people (including herself) and the only other who helped was Gale. It’s only natural she would be hesitant to fall in love.
No matter how many times i've watched this movie, it makes me so anxious. I feel what Katniss feels and i didnt feel that way with the books or the sequels at all. I love its sequels, but the first film has a magic touch to it. Gary Ross directed this blockbuster like an indie film. I wish more blockbusters could have this feeling too.

Esta escena es demasiado triste. Me quedo en los pellejos de estos personajes, y salir Vencedor de esta forma con más de 20 muertes a tus espaldas, debe ser una agonía inimaginable.
Damn that gamekeeper got a horrible death. Either starve to death or ironically eat the berries that made him allow both tributes to live and win the games.
Haymitch was telling Katniss what to do based on his experience. In his games, he used the forcefield to his advantage and was able to kill the career girl from district 1. Snow had killed his girlfriend and his family as punishment for defying the rules.
Just think about the fact that caesar interviewed the 22 other tributes and get to know them and then watch them being killed but now he doesnt give a shit
In the interview after they won Katniss looks uncomfotable at times and you can see she is not as sincere. Peeta looks just in love, comfortable and happy next to her. The actors are amazing. How Jennifer Lawrence can act like she is bad at acting. It's incedible. You can even see how she 'forgets' to smile for a few moments. Meanwhile Peeta is just like sunshine the entire time.
After 8 years I finally understand why Snow wanted caesar to eat the berries because katniss and peta was. His punishment made everything go to shit but his death made everything go down
To be honest i dont think Seneca was left there to starve. the bowl of berries was essentially a message: die now, or die later. Its debatable which optoon Seneca chose, depending if he thought he could talk to Snow and convince him, but Seneca is most likely intelligent enough to want to eat the berries. They probably gave him an hour to make up his mind
Thank you so much @Blufall for linking the music. I would have never thought that Hanna would have the same music as hunger games. This is just great. It's kinda ironic that the only sound i really enjoyed was actually from another movie.
If you think about it Seneca was the reason the revolution started. Ironic that it was someone from the capital who "rebelled" and let both of them win.
I found this part strange when I first read the books (at like 11 years old) because they won! They won the hunger games! Why isn’t everyone happy? Not until I got older did I realize that no one wins the games

I mean he’s supposed to act like he’s happy he’s a spokesman for the games
I love this scene so much
Haymitch warned her because his family was killed after the capital wasn’t happy with his win
heimich was just epic in this scene i have to tell you
I love how we’re all horrified at watching kids die for entertainment but dis basically what we are doing watching these movies.
I wish someone like Peeta was in my life.
I'm reading the book for yr 7 study and I watched this bcs I can't wait till the end and I spoiled it bad!!!! BUT I LOVE THE HUNGER GAMES!!!!
This was the best hunger games movie
And 2 weeks before they interviewed 22 other teens who are dead now
In the book she wouldn’t let him go, they even went up the ladder hugging each other
why they have to be so cute together???😍❤ I just love them😍👑🙏💛💕
After 8 years I finally understand why Snow wanted caesar to eat the berries because katniss and peta was. His punishment made everything go to shit but his death made everything go down
Seneca
Try watching from 2:33 to 2:42 in 2x speed. It's ridiculous.
I love her dress😍😍
Someone with a beard like that definitely has herpies
From CinemaSins
I'm sorry but dosent Seneca look quite calm I mean he knows what's happening and all
They left out Peeta getting a whole new leg
Seneca's beard is NOT SYMMETRICAL!!!
I wanna see the part in the book where she is screaming on the helicopter
You can absolutely tell that Peeta and Katniss are his otp.
Cato from above be like * shit all I gotta do is not kill anyone and I can win like Peetah? Crap *
Me: *Sees dress* Mom, Can I have that dress when it fits?
Mom: I don't have it
Me: *whispers* but it's so pretty
TBH , if it was a reality , Clove or Marvel would have won because they are long distance fighters
Plot twist: Those were just blueberries.
Fun fact: The original Seneca was Nero's teacher, 'till Nero forced him to commit suicide - exactly like President Snow in this scene.
Thank you so much @Blufall for linking the music. I would have never thought that Hanna would have the same music as hunger games. This is just great.
It's kinda ironic that the only sound i really enjoyed was actually from another movie.
Haha, Beauty and the Beast outfits xD
Ikr
omg i just notice that😂😂😁
Alas, his mighty beard could not save him....
The thin red line...
Katniss' fake smiles creep me out😭😭
If you think about it Seneca was the reason the revolution started. Ironic that it was someone from the capital who "rebelled" and let both of them win.
That's what you deserve game maker!!!!
Ever occur to anyone that we're in the hunger games?
how
Frosty yeah that’s what I want to know lol
I think if they went through with it then it would probably be game over for the Capital.
I found this part strange when I first read the books (at like 11 years old) because they won! They won the hunger games! Why isn’t everyone happy? Not until I got older did I realize that no one wins the games
Honestly after they win the book scenes were so much better that the movies
