I've been playing around with Tonocracy for a couple of weeks and have dialed in a couple cool "profiles". I'm getting the Dimehead for portability. It will probably sit on the coffee table for my couch trips. I picked up a Bootlegger Spade for added comfort.... I'm old.
It sounds good, but it's just too much money for you actually get - at least for where I'm from - Australia. To get one of those here, $600 Euro turns into $1000, plus shipping which won't be cheap, maybe $100-200, and then taxes. When it's all in my hands, it will cost about the same as a Helix LT. For me at least, it's just way too expensive for what I'm gonna get. I can get a ToneX for half of what I'd pay for that.
The latency specs is very impressive compared to most competitors! I just got a Tonex, which is very nice too, but the NAM Player definitely is the most impressive unit specwise. Sure it lacks a bunch of effects but besides that, it beats most others
There will be more effects which future firmware release, but since it's a small developer team they had to focus on the core unique selling points of this product, which is basically everything to get the amp sounds right.
@@fuzzaldryn9626 And they got it right! As i said. I like it so much that this is a new product that just works without any big bugs or something i could find.
I own the Dimehead and ToneX... ToneX downfall is the software to pedal integration. That said, the Dimehead is head and shoulders above any modeler/capture device.peroid.stop. I use it strictly as a preamp into rack gear. The reverb is awesome, effects are simple but great sounding. The accuracy of the capture is the most important thing to me. It feels and sounds like my old tube amps when run through my VHT 2/50/2 into real cabs... I'm blown away
@@SebastianBogensperger That is an excellent feature to get in such a small footprint. It makes this item way more flexible than ToneX and Nano Cortex.
yea.... kind of. Its more or less like the Quad Cortex. So..... to close ;D. But i think they just tried to keep it small. It's a compromise. If you make them wider, the device is bigger and people complain that it is to big.
@@BlazonStone You can an external midi foot controller which the spacing you like instead. I just use a cheap M Vave Chocolate (horrible software btw.). With that you even have more control as the NAM player does not only accept PC commands but also CC commands for each adjustable parameter.
@@fuzzaldryn9626 That's right. Still i am with @BlazonStone. Three footswitches with the possibility to hit two together to bank up and down would have worked better for me. But everyone has different needs. :)
Just a decent convolution verb pedal you are looking at $350 - $400 USD. I would say the extra $135 is a no brainer. Might sell my HX Stomp to get one.
@SebastianBogensperger probably for 90% of the people. Really only makes sense of you plan to use it on top of vintage guitar preamps or other outboard studio gear, which I would love to
@@ImpostorModanica I think it is in the first place a live tool. And live, i would say that most stages a normal musician is playing, the PA will be mono. I often saw guitarists having fancy stereo effects and boards and in the end it gets summed for the Audience.
@@SebastianBogensperger I know it is 100% aimed at live performance and it absolutely aces that. I personally would splurge on a stereo version in the same format for both studio and live usage
I just postet a new video with soundsamples. :) ruclips.net/video/j1Qi7dFpWTg/видео.htmlsi=XDmK_3xmqQgIOL9v

Tonocracy won't work on the Dimehead

Understandable. This is of course a hefty price increase in comparison to here.

Yes. Exactly :)

Ur apartment looks cool
Thank you. That was intentional ;D
looks good, but price is little bit op, compare with Tonex pedal for example
I don't think so. The unit very well built and i think i another league as the tonex + sooooooo much easier to operate without any acounts and stuff.
@@blackswn7 agree with Sebastian- I have both. Dimehead is in another league.
How long did it take to get yours?
HIHO, I think around 4-5 working days. But Dimehead just made an announcement on their Facebook page about this.
If only they had stereo input/output
Yeah... That's personal. For me it is completely not important to have stereo. :)
