Mr. Middleton thank you for giving us a very competitive team, you truly are a FAN of the game and this team, God bless you and your family. You will have that trophy next year.
Our owner is truly amazing!!! 👏 👏 👏 I love my team!!! ❤️🤍 The loss hurt, but I will ALWAYS be a PHILADELPHIA sports fan!!!! Let’s try again next year Fellas! 🏆 Go PHILLIES!!! ⚾️ 🔔
I met John Middleton over the 2022 season, my son in 2021 caught a Rhys Hoskins homerun ball!!!! I told him about what happened and he immediately told me to bring the ball down to the stadium, he had Hoskins sign it and brought to me immediately!!!! With Phillies tickets to the next ballgame!!! He was one of the nicest humans I have ever met!!!
He's the best owner in all of baseball. I still think the Phillies were the best team in the post season this year but not over the last 7 games, unfortunately. Congrats to your D-Backs...hope they bring you a championship...
His maternal great grandfather was a Norwegian emigrant to MN. He has a great heritage. Wishing the best for the Phillies - even though I’m a Twins’ fan.
He's not Ruly C...but he seems to be a down to earth Multi- Millionaire Sports Owner....Classy Guy which means MORE World Series Titles are coming the Phillies Way 🏆.⚾️✔️
Hey Mr John Middleton, you're a lot more generous and polite of a guy than I would have been at that moment.... I respect that you're talking to the media, in public. I hope that behind closed doors in private you're saying something else. I certainly would be. No sir, we didn't just "get beat." We ALLOWED ourselves to get beat. We as a team don't take batting practice B4 two games. We skip batting practice.... yet we allow one (Turrner, B4 game 7) of our guys to sit for the media before games. Sorry sir, for the League Championship Series when we expect runs will come at a premium, we don't allow anyone but Mgr or GM to hold pressers -- AND everyone takes batting practice. I put a lot on Thompson, a laissez-faire leadership style. And if he didn't require batting practice, then someone, one of the 'leaders' on this team, needed to drag teammates to take it. So in the 4th inning w/ bases full and 2 outs Rojas could have delivered a soft slap liner over the head of 1st and 2nd basemen into right and brought 2 or 3 runs across, instead he's an easy out. (or think about this... Rojas with his speed and no one expecting it, he could have dropped a push-bunt toward SS in that dead zone left of the mound that would have given him a hit.... and even if he got thrown out, that run from 3rd would have crossed the plate already. Instead Phils got nothing from that opportunity. You work on that stuff in March, AND you take practice B4 LCS games). In LCS, final game, loser goes home, AND you know both team's bullpens are going to be used, the high-leverage guys coming early, the 4th inning is NOT "too soon" to take some shot. Especially when you got a guy like Marsh who knows his home CF. (And...IF you don't have heart-burn already.... ask yourself if the team would have had a better chance to make something happen in that same situation if you had.... say.... Jean Segura at bat with 3 on and 2 outs in that 4th inning?... Stott and Bohm together on the left side were more than adequate defensively.... did Phils have to commit 300 MM for a SS.... a guy who can play only one position in the field at a time and bat only once in the batting order?.... No Segura. No Z Eflin and D Robertson in the pen. The 2022 team won one more LCS games and two WS games. Was 300 MM committed to one guy too much....? Fans have heart-burn. You should have some also. Mgmt has to make adjustments. Learn from mistakes, and don't repeat them. Dbacks Luvello did that. He made adjustments. He sat down one of his starting players when he felt that was needed. OTOH Thompson put a rookie into a high stress situation in game 3 with a 1 run lead in the opponents home park in the 7th... the lead was given up. Then, after Kimbrel gives Dbacks the win in game 3, Thompson trots out the same two guys in game 4. Luvello recognized where adjustments were needed AND he made them. Thompson?.... sorry sir, he got out-managed. (got to ask you sir, how many more MM'$ is the Phils payroll for 2023 higher than Dback's payroll....?.... do you need some antacids right about now?) The 'better' team .... on paper.... got beat by the 'lesser' on-paper team ... because leadership of that 'lesser' team recognized the moment(s) and managed accordingly. Phillies leadership didn't. And that sums up the series boss.
thanks for all you do to make this team a contender John! teams are sometimes a reflection of the owner and i think in this case, its spot on! you do everything you can to put us in a position to win and i think the players give you and us that same energy back! i know we just lost, but we've got you and all the guys back goin forward. also love the prognosis of what our window looks like goin forward, 5-10yrs!! we know youre committed to making them contenders and we couldnt ask for a better owner, someone to set the course and have everyone follow suit! #gophils #ringthebell #phillies
Philly…..you have one class owner and a great team. I can’t say I liked it when Harper glared at our dugout or how Schwarber flipped his bat after a home run but I can respect them as true grit baseball players and would love to have them on our team. As for you Philly fans, you also have my respect. You are every bit as tough as your reputation. Can’t say that about those lousy Dodger fans though.
I am supporting the Diamondbacks in the WS, and I'm a lifetime Phillies fan. I love Mr. Middleton, and I really hope our Phillies are contenders again next season!
Castellano's comments were sincere and articulate, and he seems dedicated to improve in the clutch if the Phillies keep him. After hearing him, I say, keep Nick C.
The Diamondbacks are a very good team. They are much better than us at playing a small ball. They outplayed us fair and square. They deserve it this year more than us. Good luck to them!
The Phillies lost because they paniced in the last two innings. They did not make the pitchers throw strikes, they desperately swung at everything thrown to them. Realmuto struck out on a pitch in the ground and a half foot out of the strike zone. He wasn't the only wild swinger with no patience.
He best teach his son better about letting a mansion be turned into crap with terrorists in it, maybe invest in fuel instead of balls. Or maybe the city should clean it up and double charge him for allowing it with all his wealth.
I hate castellanos he is an overpaid bum. 26 million a year not worth that kind of money please get rid of him .blew the series last year and this year
John Middleton will make sure the Phillies are contenders for at least the next decade. Twenty-nine teams lose every year and only one team wins. The Phillies are poised to win multiple World Series over the next 10 years. Middleton, Dave Dombrowski, and Topper will get it done.
Great interview. Jerry Jones would hide in his office after a loss like that and be around for interviews in the morning. I love the ownership between the Eagles and the Phillies. The Flyers and the Sixers however... Its obvious the flyers have become a team thats ok with selling tickets and merchandise and also ok with sucking while the sixers just dont take the next step. Not to mention the sixers ownership is the same as the commanders...(confused face)
Blowing games 3 & 4 with the same pitcher that almost blew game 1. Is that a good enough excuse? Or how AZ told media they were giving Harper or Schwarber anything to hit but Rob Thomson didn’t think he had to switch out the cleanup batter. He was out managed by miles! It is what it is
How’s that billion dollar lineup working for you? a lot of flash with no reward. Diamondbacks played small ball to get runs, and all the Phillies were doing was trying to hit home runs.
The Dbacks will lose to the Rangers. Then in 2-4 years when Galen and Carroll and all those guys are all due for major big money contracts, the Dbacks will be back to being a dumpster fire again. Chill.
@@jeremydubeck4439 Carroll just signed a long-term extension way past 4 years. The D-backs have a better farm system than the Phillies, they'll be fine.
Bryce Harper is over rated and the diamond backs proved it multiple of times thanks to Paul Sewald and I feel like the diamond backs umpires wanted the diamond backs to win and theirs nothing you can do
The umpire s were awful, for both sides, but that’s not an excuse for losing games 3 & 4 or 6 & 7! AZ told media that they were not giving Schwarber or Harper anything to hit. You thinking he’s overrated but you’re a grown man wearing a Bryce Harper Phantic headband! Embarrassing.

No disrespect, but how does a billionaire not invest in a dentist. Or at least teeth whitening. I make 50 K a year and take advantage of my dental insurance.
