Tried this. It was stiffer than I like for and oven mit and the heat between the gaps was a little more than i could handle. Yes i used the same weight macrame cord and hook.
Thank you! I’m going to try it anyway! I’m making these for a friend and ordered the cord. Now my question is … when you single crochet into every other stitch are you picking up just the one top loop or going into both? When I got to the end to slip stitch back into the first round i was unsure which stitch to stop on it sorta looked like 3. Same with the beginning 30…. when i count the 30 back to make sure i had 30 it sorta felt like i needed an extra stitch so the last one wasn’t in my hook …. I was trying to pause the video and watch you closely and play it back over again.
Thank you so much! I added eyes and a tongue to mine for my mom. God Bless. 😃
That is so funny! Great Idea. I'm stealing that.
Thank you this pattern! Making my mom a pair of these for mothers day!
Wonderful!
Thank you for this easy tutorial! I’ve only made a washcloth prior to this mit today and it came out perfect!
Great job! They are so cool looking.
Just found your channel. I LOVE this pattern
Yay! Thank you!
I would love to have this pattern. Years ago I had this pattern from my Grandmother and lost it . l have been looking every where for it.
Glad you found the video!! I don't have a written pattern - I made it up - but I love these mits!

True - it is a little stiff. We could try bulky yarn - just would have to be heat resistant.
I have a question, that when we decrease stitches for the thumb, does it need skip stitch? Or just decrease then single crochet in the next stitch?
You just need to decrease the stitch.
how many yards makes one mitten ?
Goodness, I am so sorry, I didn't measure it out! I will need to make another and measure - sorry about that!

I take it that the cord is cotton.
Yes! Cotton 3mm macrame cord.
Can this be done with normal yarn?
@@makaylamckim7723 I doubt it as most yarns are a blend with nylon or polyester which will melt when touched with very hot items.
@@makaylamckim7723 If you use 100% cotton. I would probably use double yarn so it's as thick as macrame cord.
how many yards does it take per mitten?
Shoot, I didn't write down how much I used. So sorry.
