Just wanna say thanks for this detailed vid especially part about fertility as that’s a huge concern of mine. My question is I strongly feel like that my acne prone skin is linked to hormonal issues and genetics. Is accutane going to stop my menstrual acne ??

Be careful! I took Roaccutane for folliculitis on my chest. The degree of the side effects, particularly depression, were never fully explained to me and I suffered some kind of mental / emotional thing after 3 weeks. The dry skin was bad too - had to take vaseline with me everywhere and apply it to lips every 10-15mins, and literally had to place my spectacles over my ears to put them on because even the grease and sweat on my head had completely dried up. It did start to work for me but the side effects were so severe I had to come off it. Just be aware of how you are feeling mentally and I would suggest that you ensure someone close and reliable can supervise you as the treatment progresses. Good luck.

........I would add that the medical profession's attitude to teenagers on this drug who report feeling depression / suicidal is that this is due to their age, acne causing low self esteem and other teenage problems. Previously perfectly normal healthy teenagers have reported such mental problems when on Roaccutane. Please be careful.

My dermatologist said I shouldn't try to have kids A WHOLE YEAR after taking it and that you can't give blood for THREE years after stopping taking the medication. Also, they changed the name because they had a bunch of lawsuits. This video is just an ad for Acitretin since it's probably the stuff you sell the most.

I have to say I think this video is a very biased and potentially dangerous view promoting accutane and majorly down playing the dangerous side effects I know because I was on isotreinoin for 7 months and unless you’ve been on it you don’t know how it feels. I can’t believe that only 2 or 3 patients suffered hair loss??? since this happened I’ve researched and majority of people suffered this. I was not prepared for this side effect or warned about causing severe internal dryness resulting in injuries amd pains I’ve never felt before agony for a very long time. Not to mention mild joint pain .. mild?! Every joint was agony from my ankles to my elbows to my back and neck. Dry eyes could barely see was very worrying at night. Also very low mood dark thoughts depression worsened anxiety. I must add I was only on a considered very low dose of 20 then up to 40 per day. Did it get rid of my acne? Thank goodness after a very traumatic time on it yes so far.. meanwhile 7 months later my hair is still not the same still not regrown in thinned areas is very upsetting so would I go n it again? I honestly don’t think I could. Just wanted warn people this video makes it sound like a walk-in park so easy and I’m genuinely happy for those it is but for me it was not oh I’m 36 btw

Ya so I’ve heard that the side effects can be worse the later you take it in life. Not sure if that is true, but seems to be the lucky of the draw. I took it for 7 months at age 22 and was on 40 mg for a month then 60 mg and then 80 mg for 4-5 months. And i had some side effects but nothing too major. i will admit the mood one was tough. But the worse side effect I had was by face got a litter puffier/fatter in my jaw area.

Totally agree. Doctors know this is the last resort as a treatment, and even call it the nuclear option! This is so obviously an advertisement.

The fact that she said she prescribes Accutane every day is troubling to me. I pray she's exaggerating. This isn't something that should be handed out like candy, it's a dangerous drug. A lady I used to work with took Accutane and it permanently messed up her eyesight. So thankful I never needed it. ☝🙏

I'm 17yr old (high school student), I've been suffering from acne for almost 4 years now, it really affected my lifestyle and appearance. Acne changed my personality, Acne destroyed me, I've been fighting against it for such a long time using various of products and none of them worked.
I visited a dermatologist 2 months ago (first time in 4 years) and he prescribed me some medications including Isotretinoin (Roaccutane). I had no clue whatsoever about this capsule nor about its side effects. I'm currently on my second month with this capsule, although I stopped using Isotretinoin for a week after my first *box* was finished, it didn't take long (2days) before my skin completely changed its path in an unimagineable way, I started getting the worse acne I could think of but thankfully I visited another dermatologist and she treated and currently does as her son, I did some blood tests and was given the green flag to continue with Accutane. I'm currently on low doses 10mg during Moday-Friday and 20mg during weekends, the side effects are slight and hopefully there will be more improvement upon my skin.
Note: Pretty sure you've heard of it already but I'm just reminding you to drink lots of water, I mean alot!!
