    So pleased you like the stamps Charnie. The South West African mammal definitive series is one of my favourite sets of all time. They are breathtakingly beautiful and it was lovely that you included videos of many of them so that we could see them in their natural environment.
    The 16c stamp is part of the series, but was issued later as the postage rate rose. There were about 3 or 4 additional values released over the years and four monochrome coil stamps in a smaller format.
    I am also delighted that so many of the stamps are new to you and that you didn't already have them.

      Hi Steve!!! I am still flabbergasted by your generous gift. It really makes my heart sing! That definitive series is certainly exceptionally beautiful. Apart from the animals themselves, the artworks are beautiful and I love the rich and shiny colours on the stamps. Very luxurious. I can see why it is your favourite!!! Now I have them as well! Thanks for the info about the stamps. Everything is new to me. I really didn't have most of the stamps yet. Since starting collecting a little bit more than a year ago, starting without having any stamps, I largely bought large lots and mixes of stamps, and only later bought a few specific sets or mixes. Most were used stamps. I also saw some of the stamps for the first time. The complete sets also means that I got higher values of the stamps as well. All in all I am so privileged to get the gift from you! 🙂😊💝

    Very nice animal stamps including my favourite, the giraffe.
    I'm also collecting birds on stamps and I will show the collection soon.
    Animals are great and make a very nice thematic collection.

    It's not a topical I specifically collect, but I recognize that wildlife stamps are always some of the most beautiful stamps of any country. And you have such an amazing selection in this video Charnie! I love that you show a short video of some animals in their natural habitat. And, as always, your enthusiasm makes for a sparkling and joyful video. Well done!

      Hi Rangersly. Wildlife stamps being so beautiful is also about the subject matter, I think. Nature of which we are part, is just so pertinent and important to us. Also animals make for beautiful subjects for artworks and stamp designs. Anyway, I am mesmerized by them. Thank you so much for your kind remarks about my videos! I appreciate it so much. It is difficult to put one self out there. 🙂Thanks also for your time to watch, and your comment. 🙂

    Nice selection of stamps. Many years ago, in 2000, I got the chance to see many of those animals when I was in Kenya on my way to Rwanda. Look forward to Part 3. Thanks for sharing.

      Hello my special and interesting friend (I hope I may call you that). I am sure you must have precious memories of the wildlife you saw in Kenya. Kenya is probably one of the best countries to see wildlife. I am also keen to open and see the stamps of the third envelope! Thanks tremendously for watching and commenting! I hope your book is coming on well. 🙂

    Lovely stamps. I haven’t seen those before. I wonder if they get used on letters

    • @GreatStampAdventure
      @GreatStampAdventure  8 месяцев назад +1

      They almost seem to be too pretty to be used. 🙂 Yes, all are for postal use. Most I showed are definitive sets. Because I am still not nearly starting to collect these southern African stamps, I most likely don't have any myself, but one can buy them used, e.g. on e-bay: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204229918060 With Google search I only found a few on cover. Interesting! I must start to make contact with people in Namibia and see if I can find good covers. Thanks for watching Ken!!!!!!! Wish I was able to improve my videos as much as you do yours. ☺
