Hi friends! A quick reminder not to post spoilers for "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes". The book isn't out in many countries yet, and won't be for another few weeks, so it's incredibly inconsiderate. Also, many of you have been asking when I'll make videos about it. I won't be making videos about it until the movie adaptation is released, as this firstly gives everyone time to buy and read the book, and secondly will allow us to use the secondary canon that is a movie to base ideas off of. Thank you and happy bubbles!
These Quarter Quell was Written when the game were being created and we know the games were added to over time so the NO Sponsors would not work because they were created before the 10th hunger games. so, the Quarter Quells of the Past have to do something with the reaping, so it could be Tribute or Adult or Only male, could be reaped. How they could be linked to the War Adults - Adults Started and Fought in the War against the Capital, so for the 75th Anniversary Only Adult can be Reaped for the 75th Annual Hunger Games. Only Male- Men Fought in the War and Stood Against the Capital, So of the 75th Anniversary, Only Males Can be Reaped for the 75th Annual Hunger Games
I think that for the 3rd Quarter Quell, the tributes could have been launched at the edge of the arena, so they have to run kilometers to get to the cornucopia for weapons and supplies. This would be a reminder that it is very difficult to get what you want, in this case showing that the rebels were very far from winning the war with the capitol 75 years ago.
**EDIT** TO THE COMMENTS SAYING I STOLE THESE IDEAS FROM A CAPITOLIO VIDEO: Look at the dates of his video and my comment here. Five months ago happened long before three weeks ago. Capitolio took my ideas without giving me credit and got a video with over 100k views. I didn't care for a while, because it ain't that serious. But when people ask you to give credit to the person who stole your ideas and cashed in on it, you can maybe understand why that's a lil' annoying. I have some ideas: only female tributes- since women decided to fight in the rebellion alongside men, they will suffer the consequences of the war just as the men do. only male tributes- to reinforce the idea that men should be strong and tough, but demonstrate that no man is stronger than the capitol. only 12 year old tributes- because the youngest children are the most vulnerable in times of times of civil unrest and the choice to rebel is the choice to put your children’s lives at risk. capitol selected tributes- to remind the districts that their rebellion caused the surveillance state of panem, citizens caught on camera or recorded assisting in rebel plots will have their children hand selected as tributes. sibling tributes- to show that to fight against the capitol is to fight against your own family, the male and female tributes from each district will be siblings. families die with tributes- to remind the districts that whole families died fighting in the rebellion, whenever a tribute dies in the arena, their entire family bloodline is executed back home. tribute chosen by reaped tribute- to remind the districts that to choose to go to war is to also send your neighbors to war with you, the male and female selected in the reaping will chose the male and female tributes to take their place in the games. EDIT (I thought of three more) no contact arena - as a reminder that food is a privilege gifted by the capitol, the tributes will be completely restrained and given no food or water until all succumb to dehydration and/or starvation except one. high iq tributes - as a warning that generations of the best and brightest could be wiped out in the event of a rebellion, the tributes will be reaped from the districts schools’ top %1 highest academically achieving students. low income tributes - as a warning that rebellion would only result in poverty and famine by consequence of the capitol, the tributes will be reaped from the lowest income house holds, families in poverty, and homeless families.
I feel like these ideas are just crazy and sadistic enough for the Capitol to do. They come up with a strange idea to benefit themself and come up with some bs reasoning linked to war
Daniel Choi the Capitol has, and uses a lot of night vision cameras throughout the Games, so it wouldn’t be difficult for them to have an all-night Games
maybe not total darkness but somewhat of a sinister atmosphere with almost no light. remember that the games still need to be fun and entertaining to watch for the Capitol citizens
In the books, in the backpack that Katniss picks up at the bloodbath in her first games, there is a pair of sunglasses that allowed her to see perfectly in the dark. If they only put a limited amount of these in the Cornucopia, a Games in complete darkness could be interesting, as those who manage to get to the sunglasses would have a huge advantage!
Katniss actually mentions in the books that victors’ children/relatives are reaped too often for it to be a coincidence. I definitely think the 3rd QQ was planned in advance.
One possibility is this: "to remind the districts that their rebellion has robbed their children of having a future, only 12 year olds shall be reaped" (to symbolize how these kids would die before they had even lived) or "only 18 year olds (or even 19 year olds!) shall be reaped" (to symbolize that just when you think you're safe and ready to live without the fear of being reaped, the Capitol can change things in an instant) Another idea: "to remind the districts that the rebels put their families at risk and were unable to protect them from the might of the Capitol, volunteering will be prohibited". Basically, whoever gets reaped, stays reaped, and nobody can volunteer for them. This would definitely change things in the Career districts, where volunteering is everything to them. It might even out the field a bit.
@@tsuyuasui7297 Probably because the career districts couldn't have the stronger and older kids volunteer like they usually do. If they couldnt volunteer, it could be a 12 year old who got reaped. It would be more "even," as the 12 yesr olds wouldnt have the training that the 17 and 18 year olds who typically volunteer do.
Some ideas for Quells: No Weapons: To remind the districts that without the Capitol's technology they'd be defenseless, the arena will have no weapons, food, or the Cornucopia and all tributes must fight bare-handed Timed Arena: To remind the Districts that they were quickly subdued by the Capitol, the entire Games will take place over one day and night, and any survivors left in the last hour will be forced together for a final battle 12 Year Old Tribs: To remind the districts when they rebel theyre risking their childrens lives, all Tributes will be first-years, or age 12 Sibling Arena: To remind the districts that the rebellion meant brother fought brother, each reaped Trib must bring a sibling into the arena with them, or another family member if no sibling exists Unexpected: To remind the districts that the Capitol could take them down with no warning at any time, the Tribs will enter the arena without any training, only having 24 hours after arrival for assessments and interviews before being put in the arena Pick the Arena: the citizens of the Capitol vote on the terrain and motif of the arena, as well as the climate and other artificial dangers present Chose Your Fate: as a reminder that the rebels chose their fate out of selfishness, all Tribs must be volunteers, and if no one volunteers within 5 minutes, five 12-year-olds are Reaped for each gender that didn't volunteer
That would be interesting since if your not 12 all you have to do is not volunteer and your safe. But if nobody does then you lose 5 of your youngest tributes.
I know it's a bit late, but if you think about it, maybe Snow would have used it against Katniss, like "As a reminder that Capitol children and teens of all ages died in the Dark Days, the children that will be reaped must be from 5 to 19 years old". Now, in the books, Gale's little sister, Posy, is 5, so Snow, with his power, can pre-determine the District 12's tributes to be Gale and Posy, so that Katniss understands that maybe they wouldn't have been reaped if it wasn't because of her, Gale pays for all his illegal crimes, and Plutarch wouldn't have been capable of saving all those victors. Plus, the District 12's new mentors would have been Katniss and Peeta, so Katniss would have her district 12's first mentee to be Posy, to have Peeta's first mentee to be the first man she fell in love with, and in addition, to have their new avox to be Darius. So, yeah, maybe it would have been a good idea, but if this happened, Mockingjay couldn't be possible. So I prefer it to be the one that happened in Carching Fire.
I know this is meant to be horrible but im laughing so hard right now. Imagine putting up a poster like 'please vote for me to possibly die!!!!!11!!!! I'll give you extra prize stuff!!"
I have a few: • 'As a reminder to the districts that war turns even the most beautiful things ugly, the citizen's of the capitol will vote in the tributes based upon who they deem as the most visually appealing' - I think that would be super interesting when it comes to sponsors, because in past games usually it's the best looking tributes who do the best (think Finnick, Cashmere, Cato, Enobaria) • 'To remind the districts that even the power of love cannot overcome the power of the capitol, the 2 tributes will be reaped from already existing teenage couples known throughout the each district' - so there would only be young lovers competing against each other which I think would be super interesting as they would all be allies • 'To remind the districts that war is ever-changing and unpredictable, each day in the arena the tributes will experience a new environment, bringing changes in both terrain and mutations' - so each day there's a new arena • 'To remind the districts that the capitol always holds the power, the wealthiest citizen's of the capitol will be able to decide the fate of any tribute they wish' - so if they are rich enough they can pay to kill one of the tributes and get to choose how, with choice in mutt etc or even by hand if they pay enough I dunno something like that Omg I was writing this for so long I've missed my karate lesson I didn't even realize the time ahahaha
However the bloodbath the capitol loves wouldn't be there. So everyone ran into the arena and the games would be longer and more boring I guess. Half the arena that would have died would still be alive.
The capital does love personal kills more than elemental stuff. And what's more personal than the game starting with fists flying, neck snapping, slamming heads into the ground or even the podiums.
Giannxax I think the capitol would know who where married at the time of the announcement, so you could not get devorced between the announcement and the Reading
This is horribly horrendous (but then again so is everything hunger games related. Imagine if the quarter quell was that parents of hunger games eligible children would be reaped, and forced to chose which of their children they would send to the games
I feel like in this circumstance one of the adults older children would give them a “pick me” look. The adult wouldn’t really have a choice, the older children would be stronger. 🙂
Giannxax yes I get that, but also in district 12 the older kids are the ones who provide for the family. If Gale’s parents were chosen they couldn’t possibly afford to send Gale, even though he has the beat chance of winning, because of he dies then their sole source of food is gone
Wow that’s a crazy idea! I gotta think the career pack would dominate in those games unless maybe there was a tribute that was really good at setting traps/ambushes or something
Superintendent Bruh wouldnt the tributes that saw the careers approaching them just run away further? and i could imagine most tributes dying from sleep deprivation since i know for a fact i wouldn’t be sleeping knowing other tributes know my whereabouts.
That's actually a really cool thing to think about and it would make an interesting story, if there were to be an omniscient narrator meaning that we knew how many were left but the characters of the story didnt
Mathiass101 why would it be scary to not know which tributes died???! you can actually use this to your advantage in the games imagine getting stabbed and then pretending to be dead ( since there’s no cannon that goes off) and when the other tributes leaves your body you treat yourself.
As a reminder to the districts that the longer they fought, the more their people died, the games will go on for 5 weeks, with every week bringing 24 new tributes into the arena. I love this idea cause I’m just imagining like ten people lining at the end of woods waiting for the pedestals to come up and for the timer to go off so that they could kill the new tributes coming in and take their suplies. Also I would imagine that so the old tributes couldn’t take all the supplies before the new tributes came up, the land mines would circle all around the pedestals they’d also have to wait until the timer went off. As a reminder to the districts that they destroyed each other in their attempt to destroy the capitol, there will be six tributes reaped from each district. These tributes will fight with the three districts in their multiple of four. When only six remain in each of the three games, they will fight each other in a new arena until a lone victor remains. I.e. districts 1-4 together, 5-8 together, then 9-12. The one with 1-4 would be nuts with all the careers and then the smartest district of Panem as well.
I think that the first idea would’ve been better for the fourth quarter quell, 100th hunger games. the last week bringing four of the previous victors in as a surprise and to round off the number to a hundred. I image that they would’ve had all the victors names in a bowl, and pulled out four randomly, despite gender or otherwise, and thrown them in in the fifth and final week. The ppl waiting to kill all the new tributes for supplies would be shocked to see victors they recognised and even idolised in the arena with them. It would be a reminder that even those who fought the longest would soon be killed at the hands of the Capitol.
TPWDS or instead of victors, when there were four people left they would bring in four more people that are the opposite gender as them but from the same district. That would make it 100 tributes but each of the final four had a new district partner that they had to think about
I have a few ideas! Hopefully, they all relate to the war in some way! "As a reminder to the rebels that it was ultimately the parents of the children sent into the war that suffered, the male and female tributes are to be reaped amongst the parents of each district." - Only parents of children who are eligible for reaping are to be reaped. "As a reminder to the rebels that it was the forefathers of the rebellion that initiated violence, each of the districts is to offer up two male tributes to compete." - Only male tributes. "As a reminder to the rebels that even the youngest of rebel children were not sheltered from the war, the male and female tributes reaped are to be twelve years of age." - Only tributes who are twelve years of age. "As a reminder to the rebels that through their choice of initiating violence, mothers orphaned their children, each district must offer two female tributes to compete." - Only female tributes. "As a reminder to the rebels that the war tore loving families apart, the tributes selected are to be brother and sister." - Much like Cashmere and Gloss, one name would be drawn (male or female) and whoever their brother/sister is would be their fellow tribute. "As a reminder to the rebels that even the strongest of them were forced to send their children into war, the male and female tributes are to be children of current victors." - Essentially any child of any victor, regardless if the victor is dead or alive. "As to remind the rebels of the Capitol’s generosity and forgiveness, only one tribute is to represent its district." - This would basically just have one big reaping ball with all the names combined, regardless of age or sex, and one name would be drawn.
If your ideas are for the original of the 75ths games.....remember that district 12 had only one victor alive....and no victor's children. The family (friends of Haymitch were already murdered because of the stunt Haymich had pulled of with the force field. Another option would be: Force a victor to choose the children of his/her district....when a female and male victor are available the female must choose a girl, the male a boy. Making sure that they do not choose an already ill child the victor will share the fate of the tribute if the tribute does not belong to the last eight.
Reinier NN what about the first victor? they’re dead but the person said that the child of any victor dead or alive could be reaped. what if the first victor had children? wouldn’t they be reaped
My idea- One district is reaped by Snow and all tributes are reaped from that district. This can show how each district is vulnerable even perhaps district 2.
“As a reminder of how parents betrayed their children by starting a war with the Capitol and depriving them of their parents and of their security: parents must choose which of their children’s names will be put into the reaping.” Only families with multiple children are eligible.
I think this could be emotionally devastating, but easy to choose... The family would obviously send in the child that has the most chance of winning.... For example, nobody sane would send Posy in instead of Gale, who actually stands a chance... Though, this could get complicated if the oldest a strongest one was the one that kept the family alive and they could not do without them...
Why only families with multiple children? I think it would work better if every family that has a child has to choose one child to enter in the reaping, regardless of whether they have multiple kids or not.
I think that the parents wouldn’t choose but oldest child would most likely tell the parents to choose them (this idea is dark but definitly something the Capitol would do)
I always thought that they'd remove the age limit... "As a reminder that there is no limit to the Capitals power, there will be no age limit in this year's games" Understandably the Careers will still be there albeit a bit older than usual, I imagine some of them being ones who were training for it but weren't selected to be the tribute at the time so they'll be looking for glory... so there'll probably be a rush to volunteer from the general populous ( trainers, peacekeepers, parents, training academy grads etc ) Poorer districts are a little more sad... Imagine an 8 year old being reaped with no one volunteering and getting thrown into the arena Sorry for the long paragraphs 😅😅
We could also expect older people volunteering for young children. An elderly person who knows they don't have much time left would be quite likely to volunteer to save an 8 year old from the games I think.
I have a couple of ideas myself. However the quarter quell seems to always have a twist on the reaping. Like the first one with the voting and the second one with double the amount of tributes. Even in the (new) third QQ the tributes where reaped out of the remaining Victor's from previous games.. So again the reaping gives a spin to the games. 1. However I always think about a QQ where the tributes won't have weapons to get to during the cornucopia. Just food. Because during war not everyone is blessed with having weapons. The capitol wants the districts to be reminded of it. This would also even out the chances of the careers and the others a bit more. 2. A QQ where the tributes are reaped of brothers and sisters only in each district so the papers would have combinations of 1 sister and 1 brother on them. During war entire families are the victim. To remind the districts of all the families lost during war these games would represent it. The capitol would love the tributes to have a bond like this. I could go on like this for a long time. Tho I think they would keep the special reaping thing for each QQ I would love to read / watch a hunger games about my first idea Love your vids from 🇧🇪
I’ve always thought maybe the capitol would reap full families from each district and distribute them throughout the arena, having to look for one another but also staying alive would’ve meant that the districts must remember that they should stick with “their own kind” sort of
Maybe there could be a Quarter Quell where the tributes are reaped out of whoever had the highest amount of slips in the bowl that year? Targeting the 18 yr old poorer caretakes of families like Gale who need the tesserea to sustain their families. Then say the most amount of slips were 42 for Males shared among 8 different males only those 8 males in the district would be eligible for that Quell's reaping.
"As a reminder to the districts of Panem that their war caused great grief and suffering to their families, each reaped tribute shall be joined by the next youngest family member in the arena." imagine having to fight alongside your newborn brother/sister
Emanating_Auras uhm i dont see a newborn baby would be in the games... and the capitol ironically definitely wouldn’t agree with thay ( well i hope so)
These comments are so creative. I always thought that Snows alternative to getting back at Katniss would be to reap from the siblings of the existing victors, otherwise why would she be so nervous watching his announcement? I think that’s what she was expecting.
And since Haymitch no longer has any relatives, and we don't know what exactly happened to Lucy Gray or the rest of the Covey... Prim as the female tribute, one of Peeta's brothers as the male tribute.
6:13 I remember Katniss saying that there was a lot of victor's children who got reaped despite most victors being well off enough that they'd only have one entry. It was basically statistically unlikely
I've seen some good fanfics about that. In particular, the chapter for the 25th games in the fic called "The Victors Project". The kid who ended up winning the Quell in that fic was voted in because their father killed a child, but other tributes that were voted in by other districts included a teenager who was a serial rapist, and one who was a drug dealer.
I thought maybe, all eligible siblings of the child that is reaped also go into the games, because the choices of individuals effect not only them but their whole families. This might also make careers less likely to volunteer as well because even if they felt prepared they might have a younger sibling they felt wasn't. ALSO poorer people tend to have larger families meaning one district might reap 2 children each from a family of five where another district might reap 2 only children
The books are told in first person from Katniss’ perspective (the story is told through the character’s eyes; the reader only knows what the character knows, I, me, my pronouns), whereas the movies are told in third person (he, she, they) that’s mostly limited (focused on one character, similar to first person but without first person pronouns) but occasionally omniscient (not focused on one person, but rather can see everything going on at any point). The books by necessity can’t show all the scenes that the movies can, because doing so would break the narrative.
@@samjensen392 That is true but - at the end of Catching Fire, when Katniss wakes up and talks with Haymitch, Plutarch and Finnick, Plutarch speaks as if he did not know about the special reaping, he says that he thought Katniss would be the mentor. He could be lying, of course, but I never got that, I always thought that the Quarter Quell was just a coincidence beneficial for the Capitol
Katniss mentions in (I think it's Catching fire) that she never wants kids because the children of Victors end up as tributes a lot. Too often to be a coincidence. So I think the Capitol put Victors children in the games already. I think it could have been the tributes reaped from only the Districts 12 year olds, or even reap 10-12 year old kids for that year. It would show that, in the war, it was the youngest and most vulnerable who suffered the most.
What if they removed all weapons so its just hand to hand combat and threats that the gamemakers put in this is to remind them that their weapons were nothing compared to the capitols
To show the mercy and power of the capital the night of the interviews the capital will vote on one tribute to 'save' from the games. The tribute who doesn't have to go in becomes another mentor and is automatically given the life of a victor, but the other 23 tributes go into the harshest arena they've designed yet
Here are some ideas I had: Only one tribute from each district-probably an even number of boys or girls-to show that all of the districts had tiny chances of winning the war in the dark days Lowering the smallest age to eight, and there being no maximum age, to show that no matter who you are and what your age is, the Capitol will always rule. That there would be no food or water supplied at the Cornucopia (This one is kind of random and would need extra planning beforehand) All of the tributes would face all of their fears in the arena, and everyone would be targeted by Capitol-made weapons trying to kill them The arena would change into a different arena every 24 hours.
I agree with Billy Verlaek, it seems that the twist is always on how the reaping is done (though we've only seen two examples, so that might not always hold true). One that I think would be interesting would be reaping one gender and having them select their counterpart. So they reap all the girls like normal and they have to pick a boy to go with them. This could represent how at the end the rebels sold each other out. Another could be that the reaping pool is made up of those with the most entries (so in poorer districts, it'd be 18 year olds who applied for tesserae every year). This could represent how much the districts rely on the capital and how the capital does not need those who leech.
Maybe there could be one where they put family members against each other to symbolize the civil war between the Capitol and the districts, the Capitol explain it as if they were family with the districts.
My ideas: 1) Remove cornucopia and give each tribute a backpack of which holds the same items, because soldiers got the same resources. 2) The districts would be reaped normally, but they would be split into teams (like in the rebellion), and fight until there is only members of the surviving team left. 3) Every kid only has their name put in once, because in the war the chances of you dying are equal to your neighbor if your a rebel. 4) Kids and relatives of high ranking people in power in the districts are reaped, to show that even if you come from a family of power, the Capitol will always win. 5) Capitol citizens will vote on what district will provide all 24 tributes, to symbolize that the capitol soldiers had to choose where to attack, and also that family turned on family on the war.
to expand on the last one: have EACH district send 24 tributes, 12 boys and 12 girls. they are split into 24 smaller arenas of 12 people (so they can't hide for days and have to fight then and there) by district and gender. sole survivor in each smaller arena is then brought together with other survivors for the real games. say it's to remind how the rebels' actions hurt people in their own districts as well as the others or something
I really like the idea that the 3rd Quarter Quell would have chosen adults. Like imagine Katniss's mother or Gale(who was 19) was reaped and Katniss had to mentor them.
idk but the previous victors to compete in 75th hunger games was specifically designed for katniss to be back in the arena as she was the only female living district 12 victor
I have a theory:"as a reminder. That the government in each district helped the citizens to start the war, in this third quarter quell, the male and female tribute are to be reaped from the family of the leader of each district (or someone close to)
I have a couple of ideas. 1. Only parents can be reaped 2. Only 12 year olds 3. Single gender games 4. No weapons, you have to make your own 5. Only 18 year olds 6. Maybe you can only be reaped if you are over 50? I'm such a sadistic prat
They could have had the children go in as usual but on of their parents has to go in with them to show that the adults couldn't save the children from the war
My thoughts was the third quell. “Not only must tributes fight one another but the arena itself”. That would explain the new threat every on going hour.
Maybe it could be that all tributes from all districts had to stay together to remind them that they teamed up before in the dark days against the capitol and many of them died, even though they were supposed to be a team. The tributes would have to kill in the night and things such as that and if they left the group would be immediately killed
It would be interesting if they put children between the ages of 6 and 12 to symbolise that the young are weak and are always left to die. They could of also done a specific age category like they only put 16 year olds in the arena to make it more interesting instead of having the older tributes picking off the younger ones
Also if for each district, the female tribute is 12 and the male is 18. Would the 18 year old men agree to sacrifice themselves so the girls have a chance or not? How would their district react to a male victor who killed little girls?
i have some ideas for quarter quells; - 24 tributes of any age from one district, signifying how people can turn on their own people. - 24 twelve year old tributes, signifying how children suffer from their parents or elders mistakes.

The Third Quarter Quell would not bring the victors back to the area, as Katniss thinks, it would be a very good solution to all current problems. Following the last two rules, I believe the original rule would be that only male tributes were reaping. If that had followed, Katniss and Peeta's attention could have been away, and the revolution would not have happened, and Panem would have fallen asleep for another 25 years.
In the centenary, I believe it would be very possible that the creators had written that the living victors of the last 99 Hunger Games would return to the arena.
An idea could be when a child is reaped they have to choose a family member to go into the arena. No volunteering allowed. This would be to show that the adults are powerless and it is their fault they had to die. Also telling the child that after the parent/family members if they are starving it is not the capitol's fault but their own ancestor's fault.
Reaping concept: “ as a reminder to the rebels that chose the demise of their people and future generations, the tributes will be reaped from the pool of the children of existing, and deceased victors. The tributes age to be reaped will range from 5 to 100” Arena concept: a battlefield. Like one that would have been used in the war between the rebels and the capital. A bit of symbolism that the districts will always be stuck fighting a battle they have already lost.
Intersting but many victors didn't have children, as for district 12 there wouldn't be anyone to reap because Katniss, Peeta and even Haymitch were childless at the time of 75th QQ. So no tribute for 12?
My Idea: The 24 that will compete in the games would lose their families instantly due to them all being executed, to remind the districts that as the Rebels had nothing to lose anymore, they do. Arena Concept: All 24 tributes will surround the arena by a mile radius away from each other. The center of the arena is the cornucopia. However, between the cornucopia & the tributes is an active war involving Capitol designed soldiers (mutts). The tributes must get through the entire war in order to reach their desire of a weapon. This is a reminder of the harsh war the land suffered. Those who choose to stay out of the raging war will be killed instantly by explosives. I know what your thinking, if they go into the war they all will die instantly. Well, since this is the 3rd Quarter Quell, let's make things interesting. The tributes will consume an antidote before the games, guaranteed that they have 3 chances of life to spare. 3 symbolizing the 3rd Quarter Quell. But the tributes have nothing to lose now? Not on my watch. The victor will bath in riches & will grant the lives of their family back at the hands of the masterful science of the Capitol. - Yeah I went in. 😂
I think maybe instead of the families being killed immediately, they would be held captive and tortured. Tributes who die has their families tortured to death, whilst whoever wins has their families healed. I think all families would be held in the stage before death, using some of the science of the Capitol and therefore it would still have the ‘nothing to loose element’ as they are a millisecond away from death anyway. The tribute who wins has their families revived.
It would have be something epic like, the number of your district is the number of people that will be reaped ( eg district 1 = 1 tribute, district 12 = 12 tributes
Like many have already said, I could see the following twists for that Quell (or any of the other Quells that was planned in the future): - No volunteers allowed. - Only female tributes. - Only male tributes. - Only tributes that are 12 years old. - Tributes are the male and female of each district that have the most slips that year due to the amount of tesserae they have taken (meaning that, yes, there would be a lot of 18 years old among those from the poorer districts since those are cumulative afaik). Could also add the "no volunteers allowed" clause for extra drama since I bet there are still a lot of kids in the Career districts that take tesserae because they are banking on a volunteer to take their place anyway if their name is called. - Tributes are to be relatives (of reaping age) of past victors; can be a sibling like Prim, a son or daughter, a cousin, a nephew or niece, and grandkid, etc. - Tributes reaped from the same family (be it immediate family like siblings, or cousins). I also think they might have planned other Quells with more than 2 tributes for each district, but keeping them for later Quells. They might not do it so soon after the second Quell, but I could see it for the fourth or sixth one, for example. To be honest, all of these could be extra sadistic just by removing the ability to volunteer, tbh. Now for ideas that have not been mentioned (afaik): - Only the eldest child of each family will be added to the reaping pool. Depending on how sadistic the gamemakers are, they can either limit it to family with multiple children, or all families. Meaning that, yes, if you only have one child and they are of reaping age, their name goes into the reaping bowls. - Same as above, but with the youngest child of reaping age. - Only 19 years old tributes (you thought you were safe now that you aged out? Think again!). - Another "vote for the male and female tributes of each district", but the twist is that they pick the ones with the least amount of votes. - Only volunteers. If no one volunteers, then it immediately goes to the youngest male and/or female children of reaping age. Sucks to be you if you literally turned 12 on reaping day. - Actually, that could be one of the twists. Youngest male and female of each district. I know there was a "only 12 years old tributes" already suggested earlier, but this is extra sadistic if you know little Timmy is the last boy in District 3 to turn 12 this year. - Okay. This is going to be my last one, because it honestly disturbs me that I even thought about it... Only disabled Tributes. This is 100% horrible, but I have no trouble imagining someone like Dr. Volumnia Gaul having the time of her life as she watches a boy beating a little blind girl to death with his prosthetic leg.
The games were a doomed spectacle form the start. In the deleted scene where Plutarch changed the games...that always made me wonder...if all those were quarter quell games and they happen every 25 years...the capitol government was planning for hundreds of years of games...it makes no sense. I just want to see why the capitol acted so harshly toward their own people.
They had planned for the Games to last for hundreds of years. Oppression is an easy way to keep control over a population, ancient Rome did it for hundreds of years, other countries are currently doing it now. It's not nice to think about, and often leads to violent uprisings, but a lot of political leaders choose oppression
@@StoryDiver very true! i love your videos about the Hunger Games..especially Panem...you should totally explore what type of Arenas they have had in the past? or a video about how Capitol kids would view the games...i bet the Captiol would have arena toys just for kids! katniss dolls and peeta dolls just like we do today! what an odd parallel lol
I was thinking maybe 100 tributes. The way that this would play out is every person from every district massive reaping in 1 district. So there could be 20 district 1 tributes and only like 3 district 5 tributes. The way this relates to the war is when you rebel the capitol won’t play fair, hence that’s why the number of tributes of 1 district will be unfair compared to a district with less tributes.
Maybe that the districts where sorted from the most loyal to the most rebellious and from that the most loyal district has more chance (the gamemarkers will help them) then the most rebellious district witch get a lower change of winning to show that loyalty gives you pleasure
I like the idea of reaping from people who have been volunteered for, though I think they would keep that one for when there are enough people that they can have all 24 tributes like this, rather than having to hold a "normal" reaping when no-one has been volunteered for (or they're all dead) if that makes sense
but in the book says that is not allow to volunteer after the name of the tribute was picked. The katniss/primrose situation was unusual but they “allowed” just because of the case that are a volunteer from a poor/long distance/not happened before district, like 12. so how this idea will be applied just for prim, for example?
No, you have to wait until they ask for volunteers, which happens after the tribute is reaped and presented to the district. So Katniss was supposed to wait for Prim to be on stage, and at that point Effie would ask for volunteers. But you definitely can volunteer after the tribute is reaped. In fact, that is when you’re supposed to volunteer
Ooh, I really liked the reaping from the volunteered for, but I had another idea: no weapons in the cornucopia, forcing the children to literaly kill each other by hand. They could say that it was to represent the 'savageness of the rebels and the defenseless caption citizens that were killed'
I love your hunger games videos and can't wait for more Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes videos! I was thinking that maybe for the 3rd quarter quell the reaping for tributes would be normal except the mentors would also be reaped from the districts (instead of existing Victors). It would be quite interesting and they would probably have interviews with the mentors. If their tribute died then the mentor would to. Also you could have it where the tributes are all members of one family (one district is chosen at random). Ages wouldn't matter.
Well, in hindsight of the first quater quell, they might reap one tribute, either male or female, and this person has to choose someone from the opposite gender to come with them. This would show the rebels didn't act as a team, they made themselves go down and pulled everyone else down as well, without hesitation. Also, it'd be interesting to see whom the tributes bring with them, their friends or their enemys.
"As a reminder to all that the rebels were merciless and brother turned on brother, we will be reaping 2 family members from each district. As a show of the capitols incredible forgiveness we will allow up to 5 victors at the end of a 3 day period. However, in order to qualify as a victor you must have killed the family member that was reaped alongside you. May the odds be ever in your favour." i'm kinda late but the twist here is that they're directly forcing family members to murder each other for their own survival. It's meant to show how low the rebels are willing to go in the name of self preservation, how "brother turned on brother".
What if instead of reaping from 2 bowls for the male and female tributes, both were reaped from one bowl leaving the possibility of having 2 men or 2 women from a district.
First of all, I love your channel! And secondly, I've always felt that Snow showed how little he knew Katniss by making this choice. If he wanted to torture and ultimately kill her, he should have made the 3rd Quarter Quell reaping to be among those of age who are related to a victor. In other words, you wanted to save Prim, well now she has to go in. Granted, this clearly isn't what Collins ever had in mind, as there were characters like Haymitch and Joannah who had no one to reap, but I do think it would have made for a great story.
When I read the books I thought that since on the 2nd Quarter Quell tributes were doubled in the 75th Games or future quarter quells the tributes would be tripled (6 tributes from each district 3 male, 3 female, 72 total) or maybe even quadrupled (8 tributes 4 male 4 female, 96 total) or multipled even bigger tripiling or quadrupling the tributes could show that even with the rebels strength in numbers the capitol could still win with their power
i always imagined something like the reaping of 24 tributes by mixing all the possible tributes from all districts into one giant pool. no volunteers allowed. this really punishes those who have the most names in the pool and more than two tributes can be from the same district
During the scene when the district 12 victors react to the quarter quell announcement, haymitch angerily throws his beer at the hologram projection television thing. To some, it may look like he’s just mad that he might have to go back in the arena and upset over Katniss and Peeta going in as well. However, we learn that Haymitch was apart of the “mockingjay” plan that (i believe Plutarch Heavensbee orchestrated). So my question is: why would Haymitch be upset over the announcement if he knew that it was going to happen? Like I would be glad that the plan was finally starting.
I have two ideas for a quarter quell: 1. To symbolize, how the rebels utterly lost, there is no winner this year. 2. To symbolize, that the rebels sacrificed their childrens future, only kids will be reaped.
I had a few ideas- Only volunteers are accepted into the games (to symbolise the rebellion was of the rebels free will) The district number shows how many tributes will be reaped (1 tribute from 1, 2 from 2 etc) with the even numbers spitting it equally between genders while the odd numbers send an extra male. No volunteering, only reaping. One tribute will be released into the arena at a time every five minutes, starting with the female tribute of 12 and working through the districts 1 by 1, female then male. All the male and female names in one bowl, and three tributes reaped.
I think one of the quarter quells (maybe 100th) would be a spectacular tournament. The Hunger Games themselves would be attended by a female and male tribute from each district that survived their own District Hunger Games. For example 4 male tributes from one district would battler each other to the death in the semi-finals, with the survivor going up against the rest of the survivors in the Hunger Games finale. So instead of 24 tributes to start with, there would be 96 tributes (12 districts x 8 tributes) in the semi-finals and then the winners from each mini games made up the 24 tributes in the finale. The theme behind this would be that even though the rebels might have won a battle, they still had to face the ongoing war.
I’m late but I had some ideas: Sponsors only to the weakest. Every evening / night the game makers calculate who’s the weakest and least likely to win the game right now (has no weapons or food and is physically weaker) and give them supplies and needed medication. This will create interesting dynamics Only alliances allowed to enter cornucopia. But once they get the things they have to sacrifice one of them / or one randomly designed dies. Reminds that even the greatest alliances are broken by the capitol Sponsors, but also negative ones. If you’re disliked the capital might send you poisoned food or explosives. Put emphasis on the fact that the opinion of the rich decides everything Half of the tributs are 12 year olds and the other half adults Reaped children must choose one member of their family to be tribute No food or water in the arena. Cannibalism only Tributs must mutilate themselves if they want something from the cornucopia. Like one eyeball = one knife
I thought of this one to specifically to get at Katniss for the 3rd quarter quell is to reap the tributes from direct family members of the existing victors. So for her it would be Gales brother Rory (her “cousin”) and Prim that would be select because I think the others are too old, young, or dead. So she would have to be present to and watch them struggle and potentially die and crush her before she could officially assume the role of the Mockingjay.
To remind all of the gradual secession of the districts, there shall be multiple areas of the arena which open up throughout the games; each with their own punishments and rewards. To remind that District 13 was the cause of the rebellion, 13 descendants of District 13’s population shall be reaped and fight on the remains of District 13.
"As a reminder that the Rebellion traumatized just as many people as it involved, the tributes will consist of those with documented histories of abuse and trauma."
i think it would be a great idea to have a games were their werent any wepons and they would have to beat eachother to death this woiuld have been entertaining to the capitol
This is what i've thought: The players will be anonymously reaped (proll unknowingly get kidnapped after) and remains unknown until the 3rd Quarter Quell starts.(They will remain unknown until the quarter quell and skips every interviews and any public showing of them and will be trained secretly, they will also had no clue who are they be fighting from each districts) This is to remind the rebels that they started the war without knowing who they really facing and fighting and how much power does it has.
Here’s mine: “To remind the districts of the Capitols generosity, the families of the slain tributes will be compensated with a lifetime supply of food, medicine, supplies and housing.” Basically every tributes family gets paid handsomely for having their children die but the winner’s family gets nothing. “To remind the district’s of the Capitols might, the citizens of the Capitol will decide exactly how the tributes die” The citizens will vote on what murder methods will happen everyday the game is going on, meaning day 1 is weapons only but day 2 could be a lightning storm. “To remind the districts how their actions put everyone’s lives in danger, a name will be pulled for every eligible age group” basically every age put into the pool will be drawn “To remind the districts that brother fights brother in war, the tributes of each district will have to fight to the death” basically the arena will be set up where the two tributes from each district are locked in an enclosed area and only one can leave alive. “To remind the districts how war leaves them with nothing, no supplies will be provided or sent throughout the game” That means no cornucopia, no gifts and only the clothes on their backs will be allowed. Edit: thought of one more Not sure how it would be worded but for every win a district has accumulated, they would send that amount of tributes. So if a district has 20 wins then they have to send 20 tributes, while a district with 1 win only sends 1. This would be hell for the careers since they’d have to pick each other off sooner than later.
I have an idea it could've been there was no cornucopia this event would symbolize that the soldiars in the war never had any supplise laid out infront of them and they had to eith make their wepons or get them of someone else
for the 75th anniversary as a reminder that it is a great honor to win the games, the district that wins these games will not have to send participants to the next 24 games. People who want to participate can register their interest at the town hall and if anyone wants to participate in the games, the participants must be drawn from among those interested
An interesting idea would be if every time a tribute dies, the arena gets smaller symbolising how no matter what, the capitol will always overwhelm any rebellion.
My idea: in the propaganda film before every reaping, it was told that “brother turned on brother until nothing remain” during the dark days.... so I believe that the tributes were still going to be children between 12-18 as long has they are Brother and sister.
Tributes from the same district both have collars on that would kill the other if one dies (or kill both if they get out of range, it would beep to let you know somethings wrong, AKA you about to die). These would be various ways for each person, examples are spikes, poison, choking, etc. Harsh but it’s the capital....
Btw two people cannot win, when only two are left they are free to fight, showing that the capital has the power to make even people in there own districts turn against each other.
I think the theory of picking adults would be really interesting. Since we could’ve seen more people like mags in the games, and it is cruel enough that the capitol would do it.
To remind the people of just how much potential is lost to needless death in war, each tribute could be taken from among their own district's best and brightest children. The top grades in school, the highest of IQs, the physically strongest, the wealthiest parents - anything that could logically give a child some future advantage.
To remind people supplies weren’t always there in the war, there is no cornucopia instead just a blank space and the supplies are scattered around the arena possibly with some challenge/trap to get to them like spikes under ground etc
Makes sense that the original plan for the quarter quell is to reap anyone above the age of 18. Would have had the same message of "Even the strongest can't stand against the capitol."
The fact that you went to every video to post this comment is so nice and awesome.
2027 Lily Haines Oh my god shut up
2027 Lily Haines that’s rood I’m still reading the book and did not no that
It just came out! I hope that one day you may come back and give us some probably incredibly interesting theories
How they could be linked to the War
Adults - Adults Started and Fought in the War against the Capital, so for the 75th Anniversary Only Adult can be Reaped for the 75th Annual Hunger Games.
That's a good idea!
I love that idea!
I love this idea!
And, if you run in the wrong direction, you het hit by a force field! Yeey!

I have some ideas:
only female tributes- since women decided to fight in the rebellion alongside men, they will suffer the consequences of the war just as the men do.
only male tributes- to reinforce the idea that men should be strong and tough, but demonstrate that no man is stronger than the capitol.
only 12 year old tributes- because the youngest children are the most vulnerable in times of times of civil unrest and the choice to rebel is the choice to put your children’s lives at risk.
capitol selected tributes- to remind the districts that their rebellion caused the surveillance state of panem, citizens caught on camera or recorded assisting in rebel plots will have their children hand selected as tributes.
sibling tributes- to show that to fight against the capitol is to fight against your own family, the male and female tributes from each district will be siblings.
families die with tributes- to remind the districts that whole families died fighting in the rebellion, whenever a tribute dies in the arena, their entire family bloodline is executed back home.
tribute chosen by reaped tribute- to remind the districts that to choose to go to war is to also send your neighbors to war with you, the male and female selected in the reaping will chose the male and female tributes to take their place in the games.
EDIT (I thought of three more)
no contact arena - as a reminder that food is a privilege gifted by the capitol, the tributes will be completely restrained and given no food or water until all succumb to dehydration and/or starvation except one.
high iq tributes - as a warning that generations of the best and brightest could be wiped out in the event of a rebellion, the tributes will be reaped from the districts schools’ top %1 highest academically achieving students.
low income tributes - as a warning that rebellion would only result in poverty and famine by consequence of the capitol, the tributes will be reaped from the lowest income house holds, families in poverty, and homeless families.
Oh wow, those are some great ideas! And I really like how they all relate back to the war so well!
What great ideas! even though I think "Families dies w/tributes" could potentially be a catalyst for a second rebellion in the districts.
I feel like these ideas are just crazy and sadistic enough for the Capitol to do. They come up with a strange idea to benefit themself and come up with some bs reasoning linked to war
Wow, these ideas are good
If the families were to die with the tributes what if the tribute was a son or daughter of a victor
Watching this video and looking at the comment section taught me one thing:
Damn, we would be so goddamn sadistic as gamemakers.
It‘s necessary to be (at least a little bit) sadistic for writing storys, so I have an excuse. But still, you‘re damn right.
😂😂 truuuu
We would be awesome
My GOD yes
But I just used one of her examples, I didn't make anything up XD
True lmao
To remind them that the war was called the “dark days” the arena would be in Total darkness? Not sure about the reaping though.
I love this idea!
Wow that would be entertaining yo watch!
...
Wait...
She does!
@@StoryDiver It’s also one of the reasons she doesn’t want to have children, and this intensifies when she wins the 64th games.
Louisa Coote very true
Louisa Coote Katniss won the 74th..
Example here is Cashmere and Gloss from district 1 (did i spell that right
One possibility is this: "to remind the districts that their rebellion has robbed their children of having a future, only 12 year olds shall be reaped" (to symbolize how these kids would die before they had even lived) or "only 18 year olds (or even 19 year olds!) shall be reaped" (to symbolize that just when you think you're safe and ready to live without the fear of being reaped, the Capitol can change things in an instant)
Another idea: "to remind the districts that the rebels put their families at risk and were unable to protect them from the might of the Capitol, volunteering will be prohibited". Basically, whoever gets reaped, stays reaped, and nobody can volunteer for them. This would definitely change things in the Career districts, where volunteering is everything to them. It might even out the field a bit.
Those are good ideas!
Its an awesome idea! But I don't think the Game makers want to 'even out' the field. That's just my opinion
Sabah Merchant what do you mean with “outing” the field
@@tsuyuasui7297 Probably because the career districts couldn't have the stronger and older kids volunteer like they usually do. If they couldnt volunteer, it could be a 12 year old who got reaped.
It would be more "even," as the 12 yesr olds wouldnt have the training that the 17 and 18 year olds who typically volunteer do.
the 19 year old one is cruel and sounds exactly like what the capitol would do. just when you think you’re safe
Some ideas for Quells:
No Weapons: To remind the districts that without the Capitol's technology they'd be defenseless, the arena will have no weapons, food, or the Cornucopia and all tributes must fight bare-handed
Timed Arena: To remind the Districts that they were quickly subdued by the Capitol, the entire Games will take place over one day and night, and any survivors left in the last hour will be forced together for a final battle
12 Year Old Tribs: To remind the districts when they rebel theyre risking their childrens lives, all Tributes will be first-years, or age 12
Sibling Arena: To remind the districts that the rebellion meant brother fought brother, each reaped Trib must bring a sibling into the arena with them, or another family member if no sibling exists
Unexpected: To remind the districts that the Capitol could take them down with no warning at any time, the Tribs will enter the arena without any training, only having 24 hours after arrival for assessments and interviews before being put in the arena
Pick the Arena: the citizens of the Capitol vote on the terrain and motif of the arena, as well as the climate and other artificial dangers present
Chose Your Fate: as a reminder that the rebels chose their fate out of selfishness, all Tribs must be volunteers, and if no one volunteers within 5 minutes, five 12-year-olds are Reaped for each gender that didn't volunteer
Those are good ideas!
Most of these are copied from a fan video of all 75 hunger games arenas and descriptions of the games
That would be interesting since if your not 12 all you have to do is not volunteer and your safe. But if nobody does then you lose 5 of your youngest tributes.
LilStonerPrincess they were before the video
"As a reminder that the Capitol fought the rebels anywhere at any time, the citizens of the Capitol will vote on the setup of the arena."
My idea:
To remind the districts that everyone was affected by the war they caused, everyone of any age can be reaped for the games.
I like that idea!
Bediebys Star yeah, I feel like if a child was picked the parents would volunteer to save them.
Bediebys Star imagine a 1 year old in the games
@@aident5663 And what if a parent and their child would be reaped? That would be... unpleasant.
I feel like that would make more sense for the 4th quarter quell
There was an interview with Suzanne Collins and she hinted that in the third quarter quell the tributes will be brother and sister
@@mariaisabelcervantes1139 or they could have done some sort of quarter quell that meant primrose got reaped
@@liv634 couldn't Katniss volunteer to go into the games again? Because it woud've been cool.
@@mariaisabelcervantes1139 THAT WOULD BE SPICY. The districts (specifically 12) would be upsetti but still a great idea nonetheless
@@mariaisabelcervantes1139 well she wouldve been a victor, so she wouldnt be able to volunteer
I’m jus saying, could you imagine being voted in to the 1st Quell by your own hometown? Like damn
It would be terrible!
King Savage97 how would it even work...
For the poor districts, at least. The Careers would probably put up posters everywhere like in a heccing school election.
Caelyn D “Vote for me” lmao
I know this is meant to be horrible but im laughing so hard right now. Imagine putting up a poster like 'please vote for me to possibly die!!!!!11!!!! I'll give you extra prize stuff!!"
I have a few:
• 'As a reminder to the districts that war turns even the most beautiful things ugly, the citizen's of the capitol will vote in the tributes based upon who they deem as the most visually appealing'
- I think that would be super interesting when it comes to sponsors, because in past games usually it's the best looking tributes who do the best (think Finnick, Cashmere, Cato, Enobaria)
• 'To remind the districts that even the power of love cannot overcome the power of the capitol, the 2 tributes will be reaped from already existing teenage couples known throughout the each district'
- so there would only be young lovers competing against each other which I think would be super interesting as they would all be allies
• 'To remind the districts that war is ever-changing and unpredictable, each day in the arena the tributes will experience a new environment, bringing changes in both terrain and mutations'
- so each day there's a new arena
• 'To remind the districts that the capitol always holds the power, the wealthiest citizen's of the capitol will be able to decide the fate of any tribute they wish'
- so if they are rich enough they can pay to kill one of the tributes and get to choose how, with choice in mutt etc or even by hand if they pay enough I dunno something like that
Omg I was writing this for so long I've missed my karate lesson I didn't even realize the time ahahaha
Those are great ideas!
Hope your karate instructor wasn't too mad! Tell them it was for a good cause 😉
The different arenas seem cool
Nice ideas
Or maybe the richest from the district get send to the games*even the richest of the district are under the hand of the capitol
Every couple would break up as soon as that couple one was announced
What if they removed the cornucopia as a way to show the districts that soldiers in the war didn’t have a bunch of stuff to start out with?
Oh that’s a great idea!
However the bloodbath the capitol loves wouldn't be there. So everyone ran into the arena and the games would be longer and more boring I guess. Half the arena that would have died would still be alive.
Billy Verlaek Sometimes, longer games are considered more entertaining.
The capital does love personal kills more than elemental stuff. And what's more personal than the game starting with fists flying, neck snapping, slamming heads into the ground or even the podiums.
EllieYuki I agree with you. The capital would totally enjoy watching that.
“As a reminder that entire families died, the tributes shall be Husband and Wife”
That's a good idea!
I have a feeling that the possible tributes would all get divorced (temporarily) and then remarried.
Giannxax I would honestly do the same 😂 and be like “who her? Oh idk her she’s the crackhead on the street not my wife”
@@haveabiscuitpotter784 I don't think divorce is legal in Panem...
That is horrible! But definitely fits into the Games!!
Sara Smith they would go to an orphanage i guess
Sara Smith so you’re saying they would choose the youngest??
Or they get an access to the trackers of the other tributes, to show, that no one is able to hide from the capitol
That’s a very good idea!
District Three would win. No doubt.
They would probably do some crazy hacker shit nd get mic access to hear their enimies secret plans or something.
Yes
Maybe a game without a canon or a screen who tells you who died and how much people died
That's possible!
That's actually a really cool thing to think about and it would make an interesting story, if there were to be an omniscient narrator meaning that we knew how many were left but the characters of the story didnt
That is so awsome and so scary to think about, but it would be so cool!
SO SCARY TO THINK ABOUT. Imagine the anxiety.
That's a good idea!
That would make it 100 tributes but each of the final four had a new district partner that they had to think about
And then it keeps going on until there’s only 1 left
Alex Flynn lmao 1-4 would demolish the competition
Those are great ideas!
Wow
If your ideas are for the original of the 75ths games.....remember that district 12 had only one victor alive....and no victor's children. The family (friends of Haymitch were already murdered because of the stunt Haymich had pulled of with the force field. Another option would be: Force a victor to choose the children of his/her district....when a female and male victor are available the female must choose a girl, the male a boy. Making sure that they do not choose an already ill child the victor will share the fate of the tribute if the tribute does not belong to the last eight.
Reinier NN what about the first victor? they’re dead but the person said that the child of any victor dead or alive could be reaped. what if the first victor had children? wouldn’t they be reaped
alexandra, he didn’t have children though.
My idea-
One district is reaped by Snow and all tributes are reaped from that district. This can show how each district is vulnerable even perhaps district 2.
That’s an interesting idea!
Too boring for a Quarter Quell, imo
Snow liked District 2, he was friend with Syjanus and after his death his parents "addopted" him. And he was able to gain money
@@Hhjhfu247 he was the reason he died tho lol, if anything he dispised two because of that
I bet it would be rigged for district eleven
“As a reminder of how parents betrayed their children by starting a war with the Capitol and depriving them of their parents and of their security: parents must choose which of their children’s names will be put into the reaping.”
Only families with multiple children are eligible.
That's a very good (and very dark) idea!
I think that the parents wouldn’t choose but oldest child would most likely tell the parents to choose them (this idea is dark but definitly something the Capitol would do)
VHL Recruitment but if they don’t have multiple kids...whats there to choose?
I always thought that they'd remove the age limit...
"As a reminder that there is no limit to the Capitals power, there will be no age limit in this year's games"
Understandably the Careers will still be there albeit a bit older than usual, I imagine some of them being ones who were training for it but weren't selected to be the tribute at the time so they'll be looking for glory... so there'll probably be a rush to volunteer from the general populous ( trainers, peacekeepers, parents, training academy grads etc )
Poorer districts are a little more sad... Imagine an 8 year old being reaped with no one volunteering and getting thrown into the arena
Sorry for the long paragraphs 😅😅
That’s a really interesting idea, and I love how you’ve linked it with the war!
@@StoryDiver thanks ❤️
Oh my gosh this blew my mind! Like surely if the time came, an older person would struggle killing someone so young?! Oh my gosh I don't know.
We could also expect older people volunteering for young children. An elderly person who knows they don't have much time left would be quite likely to volunteer to save an 8 year old from the games I think.
I had the same idea. But you articulated that much better than I could have. Good job!
Tho I think they would keep the special reaping thing for each QQ I would love to read / watch a hunger games about my first idea
Love your vids from 🇧🇪
Oh wow, your ideas are really interesting! And they definitely link back to the war very well
Just like Gloss and Cashmere
That would be very interesting!
"As a reminder to the districts of Panem that their war caused great grief and suffering to their families, each reaped tribute shall be joined by the next youngest family member in the arena."
imagine having to fight alongside your newborn brother/sister
Oh my gosh, that would be horrible! But definitely feels like something the Capitol would do!
What if the next youngest was an infant 🤔 interesting idea
@@flix343 ikr like how would that work
Although I don't know if even Cato would have the heart to murder a baby... then again, maybe not!
Emanating_Auras uhm i dont see a newborn baby would be in the games... and the capitol ironically definitely wouldn’t agree with thay ( well i hope so)
@Madeleine Pence Good point.
These comments are so creative. I always thought that Snows alternative to getting back at Katniss would be to reap from the siblings of the existing victors, otherwise why would she be so nervous watching his announcement? I think that’s what she was expecting.
Very true!
Imagine being in the 25th hunger games knowing the people of your district hate you the most out of everyone and chose you to die pretty much 😭😂
That would be terrible!
But then you became the victor 😎
@@therealtalkwithandres Everyone votes for the district idiots...but then one of then wins.
District citizens: BRUHHHHHHHH...
That's a good idea!
The arena is a gaint flat plate form, I mean giant, and it slowly breaks on the edges pulling people in, and the amount of people is doubled
That’s a very interesting idea!
Yessss
Yeah I wrote a comment about this. Plutarch swapped the letters in a deleted scene but in the books it's never mentioned.
Exactly!
Those are good ideas!
What if they removed all weapons so its just hand to hand combat and threats that the gamemakers put in this is to remind them that their weapons were nothing compared to the capitols
Oh I like that idea!
To show the mercy and power of the capital the night of the interviews the capital will vote on one tribute to 'save' from the games. The tribute who doesn't have to go in becomes another mentor and is automatically given the life of a victor, but the other 23 tributes go into the harshest arena they've designed yet
That’s a really good idea!
@@StoryDiver Kind of like when our president pardons a Turkey on Thanksgiving!
Here are some ideas I had:
Only one tribute from each district-probably an even number of boys or girls-to show that all of the districts had tiny chances of winning the war in the dark days
Lowering the smallest age to eight, and there being no maximum age, to show that no matter who you are and what your age is, the Capitol will always rule.
That there would be no food or water supplied at the Cornucopia
(This one is kind of random and would need extra planning beforehand) All of the tributes would face all of their fears in the arena, and everyone would be targeted by Capitol-made weapons trying to kill them
The arena would change into a different arena every 24 hours.
Those are good ideas!
That would be scary to have like an 8 year old compete against 18 y.o
I like your ideas, especially the last one
LJ Dragon Ball Z they could be small and take advantage
Yes
I really like those ideas!!
Maybe there could be one where they put family members against each other to symbolize the civil war between the Capitol and the districts, the Capitol explain it as if they were family with the districts.
Oh that's a very good idea!
My ideas:
1) Remove cornucopia and give each tribute a backpack of which holds the same items, because soldiers got the same resources.
Those are good ideas!
to expand on the last one: have EACH district send 24 tributes, 12 boys and 12 girls. they are split into 24 smaller arenas of 12 people (so they can't hide for days and have to fight then and there) by district and gender. sole survivor in each smaller arena is then brought together with other survivors for the real games. say it's to remind how the rebels' actions hurt people in their own districts as well as the others or something
I absolutely LOVE that last idea
This is such an interesting topic, I've never thought about this before! This is one of my favourite videos by you now :)
Thank you, I’m happy you enjoyed it!!!
I really like the idea that the 3rd Quarter Quell would have chosen adults. Like imagine Katniss's mother or Gale(who was 19) was reaped and Katniss had to mentor them.
That would have been a good idea!
idk but the previous victors to compete in 75th hunger games was specifically designed for katniss to be back in the arena as she was the only female living district 12 victor
I have a theory:"as a reminder. That the government in each district helped the citizens to start the war, in this third quarter quell, the male and female tribute are to be reaped from the family of the leader of each district (or someone close to)
That's a good idea!
I have a couple of ideas.
1. Only parents can be reaped
2. Only 12 year olds
3. Single gender games
4. No weapons, you have to make your own
5. Only 18 year olds
6. Maybe you can only be reaped if you are over 50?
I'm such a sadistic prat
Those are good ideas!
man
the over 50 one they might just die through old age
It would have broken katniss more if prim went in rather than her on those games
Very true!
They could have had the children go in as usual but on of their parents has to go in with them to show that the adults couldn't save the children from the war
That's a good idea!
My thoughts was the third quell.
“Not only must tributes fight one another but the arena itself”. That would explain the new threat every on going hour.
The arena was already doing that with the fog, the monkey mutts, and the blood rain
Maybe it could be that all tributes from all districts had to stay together to remind them that they teamed up before in the dark days against the capitol and many of them died, even though they were supposed to be a team. The tributes would have to kill in the night and things such as that and if they left the group would be immediately killed
That's a good idea!
It would be interesting if they put children between the ages of 6 and 12 to symbolise that the young are weak and are always left to die.
They could of also done a specific age category like they only put 16 year olds in the arena to make it more interesting instead of having the older tributes picking off the younger ones
Oh I like the specific age idea!
Also if for each district, the female tribute is 12 and the male is 18. Would the 18 year old men agree to sacrifice themselves so the girls have a chance or not? How would their district react to a male victor who killed little girls?

i have some ideas for quarter quells;
- 24 tributes of any age from one district, signifying how people can turn on their own people.
Oh those are good ideas!
Or all female edition
An idea could be when a child is reaped they have to choose a family member to go into the arena. No volunteering allowed. This would be to show that the adults are powerless and it is their fault they had to die. Also telling the child that after the parent/family members if they are starving it is not the capitol's fault but their own ancestor's fault.
The first quarter quell had a similar twist: the people had to choose the tribute instead of a reaping.
@@taliavelazquez358 I know but I feel this idea would send across a different message.
Reaping concept: “ as a reminder to the rebels that chose the demise of their people and future generations, the tributes will be reaped from the pool of the children of existing, and deceased victors. The tributes age to be reaped will range from 5 to 100”
Arena concept: a battlefield. Like one that would have been used in the war between the rebels and the capital. A bit of symbolism that the districts will always be stuck fighting a battle they have already lost.
Those are good ideas!
Intersting but many victors didn't have children, as for district 12 there wouldn't be anyone to reap because Katniss, Peeta and even Haymitch were childless at the time of 75th QQ. So no tribute for 12?
@@ShiningMaru knowing the capitol they would’ve just reaped from those age ranges for everyone in 12
My Idea:
The 24 that will compete in the games would lose their families instantly due to them all being executed, to remind the districts that as the Rebels had nothing to lose anymore, they do.
Arena Concept:
All 24 tributes will surround the arena by a mile radius away from each other.
-
Yeah I went in. 😂
That's a really interesting idea!
@@StoryDiver Thanks!
Robert Solorzano wait i’m confused, what do you mean with “have 3 chances of life to spare” do you mean that when they die they can get revived
I wonder what the hundredth Hunger Games would have been.
Probably one of these ideas would have been used
It would have be something epic like, the number of your district is the number of people that will be reaped ( eg district 1 = 1 tribute, district 12 = 12 tributes
The tributes are hunted not only by each other, but by roaming squads of Peacekeepers to show off the Capitol's might over them.
@@daisyrobinson6920 that’s a good Idea 👍
Like many have already said, I could see the following twists for that Quell (or any of the other Quells that was planned in the future):
- No volunteers allowed.
Now for ideas that have not been mentioned (afaik):
- Only the eldest child of each family will be added to the reaping pool.
Creating stuff I’ll look into it!
That's very possible!
I like the idea of reaping from people who have been volunteered for, though I think they would keep that one for when there are enough people that they can have all 24 tributes like this, rather than having to hold a "normal" reaping when no-one has been volunteered for (or they're all dead) if that makes sense
That definitely makes sense!
but in the book says that is not allow to volunteer after the name of the tribute was picked.
This is my first video from you, and I’m already hooked! Can’t wait to see more!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Story Diver me too!
"To remind the districts that war will only destroy you, every elligable child must break their own (insert body part here)."
Oof, that's rough!
I have a video idea: what if all tributes teamed up and didn't kill each other
I've done a video covering if the tributes refused to fight, it likely covers a lot of what you're thinking!
capitol would see it like a rebel act so they probably would put some monkeys or something to eat the tributes 😭
May the odds be ever in your favour."
i'm kinda late but the twist here is that they're directly forcing family members to murder each other for their own survival. It's meant to show how low the rebels are willing to go in the name of self preservation, how "brother turned on brother".
What if instead of reaping from 2 bowls for the male and female tributes, both were reaped from one bowl leaving the possibility of having 2 men or 2 women from a district.
That’s a good idea!
That would've been a great idea!
Yeah, but the Capitol loved little Prim, like it was said in the second book, they wouldn‘t like it if she gets hurt
That would have made for a huge arena!
Nobody knows who is in the games until they actually wake up staring at the cornucopia. Signifies the blindside the rebels caused by starting the war.
i always imagined something like the reaping of 24 tributes by mixing all the possible tributes from all districts into one giant pool. no volunteers allowed. this really punishes those who have the most names in the pool and more than two tributes can be from the same district
“to remind the districts that they are defenseless without the capitol, there will be no weapons”
basically all hand-to-hand combat
During the scene when the district 12 victors react to the quarter quell announcement, haymitch angerily throws his beer at the hologram projection television thing. To some, it may look like he’s just mad that he might have to go back in the arena and upset over Katniss and Peeta going in as well. However, we learn that Haymitch was apart of the “mockingjay” plan that (i believe Plutarch Heavensbee orchestrated). So my question is: why would Haymitch be upset over the announcement if he knew that it was going to happen? Like I would be glad that the plan was finally starting.
In the books it’s stated that as soon as the quell was announced that the victors started planning with one another and Plutarch
I have two ideas for a quarter quell:
1. To symbolize, how the rebels utterly lost, there is no winner this year.
2. To symbolize, that the rebels sacrificed their childrens future, only kids will be reaped.
I had a few ideas-
Only volunteers are accepted into the games (to symbolise the rebellion was of the rebels free will)
The district number shows how many tributes will be reaped (1 tribute from 1, 2 from 2 etc) with the even numbers spitting it equally between genders while the odd numbers send an extra male.
I’m late but I had some ideas:
Sponsors only to the weakest. Every evening / night the game makers calculate who’s the weakest and least likely to win the game right now (has no weapons or food and is physically weaker) and give them supplies and needed medication. This will create interesting dynamics
Only alliances allowed to enter cornucopia. But once they get the things they have to sacrifice one of them / or one randomly designed dies. Reminds that even the greatest alliances are broken by the capitol
Sponsors, but also negative ones. If you’re disliked the capital might send you poisoned food or explosives. Put emphasis on the fact that the opinion of the rich decides everything
Half of the tributs are 12 year olds and the other half adults
Reaped children must choose one member of their family to be tribute
No food or water in the arena. Cannibalism only
Tributs must mutilate themselves if they want something from the cornucopia. Like one eyeball = one knife
Quarter quell idea: the pool of possible tributes involves everyone in every district. Adults, kids, no protections, no volunteers.
That's a good idea!
I love how you use your hands to like go with your talking lol. It's kinda funny and cool
Haha, thank you! I talk with my hands a lot, it's a cultural thing
"As a reminder that the Rebellion traumatized just as many people as it involved, the tributes will consist of those with documented histories of abuse and trauma."
I like the idea of two Hunger Games taking place at the same time in two different arenas.
Wow!!
I never thought of digging deeper into this idea!
i think it would be a great idea to have a games were their werent any wepons and they would have to beat eachother to death this woiuld have been entertaining to the capitol
The Capitol citizens would enjoy that!
This is what i've thought: The players will be anonymously reaped (proll unknowingly get kidnapped after) and remains unknown until the 3rd Quarter Quell starts.(They will remain unknown until the quarter quell and skips every interviews and any public showing of them and will be trained secretly, they will also had no clue who are they be fighting from each districts)
This is to remind the rebels that they started the war without knowing who they really facing and fighting and how much power does it has.
What if the twist was they got no training just sent right into the games because some might see it as people got no training and were sent into war
That's a good idea!
Here’s mine:
“To remind the districts of the Capitols generosity, the families of the slain tributes will be compensated with a lifetime supply of food, medicine, supplies and housing.” Basically every tributes family gets paid handsomely for having their children die but the winner’s family gets nothing.
“To remind the district’s of the Capitols might, the citizens of the Capitol will decide exactly how the tributes die” The citizens will vote on what murder methods will happen everyday the game is going on, meaning day 1 is weapons only but day 2 could be a lightning storm.
“To remind the districts how their actions put everyone’s lives in danger, a name will be pulled for every eligible age group” basically every age put into the pool will be drawn
“To remind the districts that brother fights brother in war, the tributes of each district will have to fight to the death” basically the arena will be set up where the two tributes from each district are locked in an enclosed area and only one can leave alive.
“To remind the districts how war leaves them with nothing, no supplies will be provided or sent throughout the game” That means no cornucopia, no gifts and only the clothes on their backs will be allowed.
Edit: thought of one more
Not sure how it would be worded but for every win a district has accumulated, they would send that amount of tributes.
That’s a good idea!
for the 75th anniversary as a reminder that it is a great honor to win the games, the district that wins these games will not have to send participants to the next 24 games. People who want to participate can register their interest at the town hall and if anyone wants to participate in the games, the participants must be drawn from among those interested
An interesting idea would be if every time a tribute dies, the arena gets smaller symbolising how no matter what, the capitol will always overwhelm any rebellion.
I like that idea!
My idea: in the propaganda film before every reaping, it was told that “brother turned on brother until nothing remain” during the dark days.... so I believe that the tributes were still going to be children between 12-18 as long has they are Brother and sister.
That's very possible!
That’s an interesting idea!!
“As a reminder that the soldiers of the war volunteered to sacrifice their lives for nothing, the tributes for each district must volunteer”
What happens in a District where no one volunteers?
Story Diver I guess the peacekeepers start pointing guns until someone steps up?
Angela Hsiao I could totally see peacekeepers being ordered to start executing civilians until tributes EVENTUALLY step forward
I think the theory of picking adults would be really interesting. Since we could’ve seen more people like mags in the games, and it is cruel enough that the capitol would do it.
It does seem very probable!
That's a good idea!
A massive playground for the loss of innocence for the children
Makes sense that the original plan for the quarter quell is to reap anyone above the age of 18. Would have had the same message of "Even the strongest can't stand against the capitol."
