Lies have a way of growing and it isn't long before Junior's "little fib" has grown into a 30-foot-tall monster, threatening to devour all of Bumblyburg! Only one person to call in a crisis like this: Bumblyburg's own superhero, Larry-Boy! But can anyone stop the Fib from Outer Space?!?

Any rumors caught your ear lately? Junior Asparagus and Laura Carrot start spreading rumors, which spread over Bumblyburg like a weed - threatening to engulf the whole town. Larry-Boy arrives and convinces them that God doesn't want us to tell stories that hurt people; He wants us to spread nice words.

I was to, the main reason for me is when larry goes to the sewers and finds the mother rumorweed. I believe it moves towards the camera but that could be my childhood brain being scared

At a youth group event one night, we played a game to get to know each other(other youth groups were there.) We had to shout our name, our favorite superhero, and you had to name a fact about yourself.
So at my turn I said:
"MY NAME IS ZACHARY!"
"HI, ZACHARY!"
"My favorite superhero is Larry Boy..."
Someone in the group was like: WHO?
My youth pastor looked at him and said: "It's from Veggie Tales."
He didn't know what that was either! :0 (I think.)

Shortly after the Rumor Weed song was released, a kid in my youth group misheard something I said about it, and though I said "smoking Rumor Weed". That became an inside joke in that youth program for years afterward!
I bet the people who made “Krab-Borg” might be smoking Rumor Weed.
Fun fact: Phil Vischer hasn’t animated anything since he stopped working on VeggieTales. But just recently, a friend of his just recently got him to try out Blender, and he has literally never been so motivated to animate anything in his life.

I thought that was funny, too! There was a VeggieTales cassette at my church, like, 20 years ago, and one of the songs on it was the song Junior sang about Laura breaking the plate. Apple chopper and all. I still can't believe they basically played with a murder weapon!!!!

This triggered a repressed childhood memory. During the DVD audio commentary for the Rumor Weed one, the creators specifically talked about how the episode was inspired by the "Mr. Krabs is a robot" episode of Spongebob. I tried showing that clip of the commentary to my mom to convince her to let me watch Spongebob, because I otherwise wasn't allowed to.
Actually, this came out 3 years before that episode.

My grandmother says we went to go see it when it came out (I was 4 when it was released), and I don’t remember a single thing from it other than the character dvd commentary. Yeah, it would be great if they reviewed that movie, but I completely understand why they want to stop reviewing the series. They don’t want to be an only VeggieTales channel, they want to review other movies and shows from the 90s and early 2000s. And that’s completely fair. I won’t be upset if they don’t review anymore VeggieTales.

I actually didn't know that! I honestly hated 16 Candles due to the implied rape scene and the gong stuff alone, but I'm glad the actor went on to do better stuff.

As a child I'd love LarryBoy, I still kinda do. But Christ, I use to find these episodes scary. The part where the second fib landed and the screen just go black for a moment gave me nightmares as a kid. Not to mention, the part where LarryBoy was falling towards the ground in the Rumor Weed EP was so tense as a five year old. Now I've find these episodes charming.
