Bridear is a Japanese power metal band from Fukuoka, formed in 2011. It currently consists of singer Kimi, guitarists Moe and Ayumi, bassist Haru, and drummer Natsumi. They are represented by Zest and release music under the Avex Trax label.

Hahaha I really enjoyed listening to your dad try to pronounce Fukuoka, I believe it's pronounced Foo-kuo-ka, by the way awesome band, that in my opinion doesn't get the recognition they deserve.

this is bridear, an original member. although drummer and two guitarists have changed. bridear is closest to the top LOVEBITES.

Thats the old lineup of Bridear ... I believe in this one the growls are done by the guitar player at the time Mitsuru, after she left the band the growler became the base player Haru (as in Brave New World Revisited for example) :)

It's the pronunciation you were confident it wasn't - it's a portmanteau of Bride + Dear. And you don't need to worry about Fukuoka either. They've been based in Tokyo for about ten years.
I second the recommendation for Brave New World Revisited.

I belive its the guitar player on the left that does the screams but since she left the band the bass player now does the screaming although they don't do it much these days. Ignite is another great early song from this band to check out if you are interested 😉

Your dad had me cracking up 🤣 I love Bridear they are great , I like to pronounce it Bride-E-Air ..... 🤘🤘 this was the first song I listened to by them also and was instantly in love !

Just for clarification guys, the correct pronunciation of the band's name is Bride dear in spite of only having one R in the spelling. The MV above is of the band's original line-up with, as you've previously mentioned, Kimi on Vocals and Haru on bass alongside original guitarists Mitsuru, playing the Jackson, and Misa, or Misato, on the other guitar plus former drummer Kai. The line-up you happened to mention earlier is in fact the current line up of Kimi, Haru, Ayumi, Moe and Natsumi. Moe of course being the replacement for their other former guitarist Misaki, who left Bridear last year sometime after the completion of their Aegis of Athena album. It being Misaki's third and final album with the band after 4 and a half years.✌️❤️🤘

they have some Power metal elements but I would classify them as Metalcore. But yeah seeing you guys having the Rush shirts I def suggest checking out their song "Brave New World Revisited" for their prog side.
