As a GEN-X the first person I saw do the moon walk was Jeffrey Daniel from the R&B group Shalamar. Soul Train introduce many dances like the Robot, POP LOCKING etc... But when Beat Street and Breaking came to the theaters. It was clear to everyone those guys was on a whole different level! The only people that was trippin on MJ moon walk was white folks.
Popping originated in fresno by Black American Boogaloo Sam and locking originated in Los Angeles by black American Don Campbell i just wanted to make it clear where it originated from

Shrimp levitated in his version of the moonwalk that he described as "orbited" still watching that and trying to learn that, that short scene on the beach in Breakin was one of the most amazing and never copied moves ever in dance. It was never copied because it was impossible to understand and learn.

Michael's popping is HEAVILY influenced by the late great Pop N Taco. The hits, the cobra/snaking move. The robotic movements that's all Taco style MJ got from..only thing I can see MJ got from Shrimp is the moonwalk.

He is so right Michael was learning the Street underground dancing moves and applied these moves on stage. Michael wasn't the greatest dancer but he was the greatest performer. He had signature moves but he never invented no type of form of dancing.

Chambers is being pretty cool. it's pretty clear they were brought to the Jackson compound to just get his and Taco's moves and use them on stage.. I know MJ helped Chambers with jobs later and stuff but seems a bit shady by the Jacksons.

Yea and no. Michael Jackson got the moonwalk from him but it was boogaloo shrimp who actually showed Michael how to enhance it. If you look at Motown and victory tour you would see a difference in Michael moonwalk. He went from classical dancing to an aggressive pop moonwalk and glide. There’s also an outfit Michael had on in the bad video in the late 80s that boogaloo shrimp had on in breakin 2 but with different colors
