Actually, complexity doesnt necessarily mean more intellectually stimulating, as The Beatles is a good example of. This piece is not Griegs best work, but it has it's moments and a few harmonies that tear me to pieces every time. In my oppinion, Griegs best work ever is The last spring. You cant say that that composition isnt intellectually stimulating because it contains about every emotion you can have. And that's quite the achievement! :)
ClassicalObsession, in my reply to your trashing of Grieg, I was trying sarcastic humor. I even hoped you might see the humor, but I can see it may have just seemed an attack on you or Bach or Mozart. It was not. In my mind there has never a finer composer than Bach or Mozart, but they were not alone. My point was that there can be great beauty in simplicity (as in the wonderful B and M pieces I cited). I also have no doubt they would have appreciated Grieg's genius (and this work).
Bach would have been proud of it. You must never listen to his "Air on a G String" for I'm sure it would bore you to tears. For that matter, even Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus" is surely too simple for you. No doubt he died of shame a month after composing it - or more likely he would have been ashamed of your comment.
This piece stirs the soul. So beautiful!
Goose bumps... Inexplicable ethereal beauty
One of the best pieces of music that i have ever heard....My favorite of classical music :)
It's such a beautiful piece! I only wish the Principal and second cellists would come out more during their solos!
The music is amazing, magical! Brilliant performance!

Enig, dette låter faktisk bedre ut enn London Symphoni sin versjon. Spesielt midtpartiet, langt roligere.

Wonderful music. Distracting arty visuals and ugly glass work.
At least they're not randomly at a park with a lighthouse playing......
Like the song, but i got to play it for try outs and it sucks...
