What an awesome project Greg! I’m stoked.
Thanks Chef! In other news... I've been following your projects on IG but I hadn't seen any vids from you in my feed. I just checked and my subscription to you wasn't/isn't there. I have no idea how long I've been missing your vids. WTH!!! I figured you were just posting pics. I have a LOT of catching up to do.
Should be a great project. What an iconic car to bring back.
Thanks Darrell! I'm pretty happy to have another car project in the shop. It's been awhile.
This is exciting! I learn a lot from your builds. Dominick is doing an old Porsche too. Yours is in way better shape.
I've been watching Dom's restoration. He is picking away at a really tough project. I'd like to know where he is going with all the 3d scanning that he had done.
This is going to be lots of fun. And hope everything goes all the as expected
Thank you sir! Exciting things ahead!!!
This will be a worthwhile project. I had a friend that had a Speedster back around 1980 and it sure turned a lot of heads.
Oh man! I wish I could go back in time and invest in a beat up speedster... They are fetching $400,000+ now!!!
I’m excited to see the project start. I must say channels such as yours have replaced my big network tv viewing. Congratulations on the purchase……looking forward to the beginning. Good luck!
Thank you! I agree 100%. I quit watching network TV. I like to learn by watching others do things I want to do!!!
Awesome, Greg, looking forward to the project.
Very cool! Car videos from Greg? Next you’re gonna tell me turbocobra is building another mustang !
Wouldn't that be great! I'd love to see Gary start another car project too.
I am so excited to see this project Greg!
Thanks John! I am excited for this one too. It will be a few notches of detail above the Ghia.
Awesome Project, Looking forward to following along!
Thanks Mike! I'm so darn stoked to have a car to work on.
This is exciting! Can't wait!😎
Thanks CT! I saw you got a shout out on the latest I Like to Make Stuff Ghia project video.
@@GregsGarage Oh cool! I'll go check to out. 😎 He does some great stuff!
@@CTmoog I don't really watch his stuff, but I happened to see the Ghia in his thumbnail.
Great project, looking forward to the journey.
Thanks Rich! I'm ready to start banging on this one.
cool stuff. Will be following along. Thanks for the video.
I'm excited about this one! It's not a VW, but it's about the closest you can get to one. I often think about the 356 Jason had all in pieces at your place. Has he done anything to it? Also, how are the Koi?
Excited for the sheet metal work!!!
Me too Brian!
Im excited to see you do this project. This is one of my favorite German built cars.
I'm excited too. I've wanted one of these cars since I was in grade school. I hope it will live up to my expectations! (I'm certain it will!!!)
Cool . Nice to start with most if not all the parts.
Yes... There are a few things missing, but its 99% there.
Hey Greg,
Just ran across this video. I just started a project that looks to be similar to yours. Ours is a 63’ T6 B.
Excited to see where you take it and I’d love to stay connected.
Cheers!
Cool project Greg I’ll be watching
Thanks brother! I feel like I haven't seen an update on the truck in a bit.
You are the man for the job! 👍👍
I certainly hope so Matt!
Like being back in the old days!!! Awesome 👍👍
Oh yeah baby!!!
I'm looking forward to the build especially the interior .
I was going to start on the seats but I can't find covers already made... I'm going to have to drop by the upholstery supplier when I'm back in KC next month... Then it will be a 100% custom/hand made interior.
Good to see you working on a car project again.
It's great to have another project car! We haven't seen anything from you in a few months. I'm hoping you're still able to spend some time in the shop.
@GregsGarage Its been a minute. Working on a Father/Daughter project. A wreck 2010 Mustang. We are filming part 9 of 10 now. We are almost done and almost ready to start releasing the vids.
@@DoubleRRestorations I'm looking forward to the series.
I'm excited for you Greg. You'll probably be done the 356 before I get my project done. :)
LOL! Thankfully, it's not a race. You've got to be close with your Ghia though.
Nice project……love it..👍🏴
I'm excited!
I believe if it is possible, you are capable, based on what I have seen you do before. Keith from KC.
Thanks Keith! I hope you're having fun with your projects as well. My dad always brings me up to speed on what you're working on.
Your car is a lot better than mine was. Mine was flipped over and almost no parts. Looks great
Thanks man. I think they are all a handful, it's just a matter how big of a handful!!! I sure have enjoyed watching the work you do.
HELL YEAH IT IS
I am excited... Hopefully it doesn't distract too much from the guitars!
RUclips garage gang Activate! Lol. Wow thats really cool. Im sure whatever you paid it was worth it. Yup..being some things home and work on em. Then chassis home then weekend to kc as needed for parts. One piece at a time. If you want some motivation i still havnt cleaned out my project room yet to start working on guitars. Lol. It will be great to see the comments from the og youtube garage gang pop up. Have a great sunday. 🤙🎩🌄🇺🇸
I'm already planning out the trip back to KC to work on the floors and rocker sections. I'm going to take a week's vacation and knock out as much as I can in the barn... There's TONS of room to work there. When I get it back home, it's a lot more restricted... Fingers crossed that everything will work out as I see it in my head... BTW... GET ON THOSE GUITARS!!!
@@GregsGarage lol. YES SIR! By this winter. 💪
Finally!!!
YES, YES, YES!
YES!!!!!
YES, YES, YES!
Weld her up time and patience it be a beauty
You are 100% correct... Its just time and a bit of sweat!
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
👊👊👊👊
LOOKS EASY.......Hold my beer. give me 3 months.
LOL! I've seen you handle some tough projects. You might be right with 3 months!!! I might be a tick longer than that... I'll know more once I get started. Seems like those rusty areas come at you like snipers.
@@GregsGarage The hardest part is all the patches. those yea it would take about a year or more for me just about full time. Each patch takes hours to cut out and fit. a rotisserie is a must for that It is really bad and all on the bottom. Look up spot welding with a tig welder you will need that technique for this car. lots of bad stuff in hard to reach places. The best part is all the high $$$$ stuff is already done. and the parts that are $$$$$ are there. CHROME....OMG I wont even go there. it is so expensive here. trying right now to get someone in Mexico.
@@Mikefngarage I found out this weekend that someone stole the rotisserie I built for my Ghia... That's what I get for lending it out I guess... I'm almost done with the design for the rotator I'm going to build for the 356. Porsche has AWESOME dimensioned drawings in the shop manuals, so it's a piece of cake to draw one up even though I'm 500 miles from the car... I should be able to pick up the steel this weekend and get it built. It will be the tip over style I've seen a lot on Bus restorations. I hadn't thought of burning through with my TIG welder. That's a great idea. I will probably tack everything together with the wire welder, then spot with the TIG. The butt welding will be all TIG. I can finish and metalwork those MUCH easier than MIG because they are WAY softer and smaller. Thanks for the tip!
Tig all the way on that car. yup but that pinch welding technique is really fast and really looks PERFECT....for all the lap seams No grinding. @@GregsGarage
@@Mikefngarage Looked up the TIG Spot Welding... YEP! That is the ticket!!! That's going to make all the inner panel replacement look 100% factory.
At this point all these cars are worth restoring; go find another 😉
