    Hey Bill, would the drilling of the holes wreck the waterproofing thats behind those tiles?

      Hi @pnikWILLIE, fellow vietnamese here. Yes it will damage the waterproofing. What u'll need to do is after drilling the hole, grab a bicycle air pump and blow out all the dust, then apply plenty of bathroom silicone i to the hole before putting any screws in. This ensures the hole in the backerboard behind it is protected by silicone.

    What are the chances of hitting a water pipe behind the tiles

      Slim when roughing in a mixer most of the time plumbers allow for provisions for a rail and run pipe around.
