When I was in college, people teased me for liking ALW, and then the men’s chorus and the boys’ choir said they were going to do this “Requiem.” And then a few weeks later I got an apology from someone because they dropped this from the schedule because it was too hard. The men’s chorus, specifically, couldn’t get it. And I have waited a long, long time to hear anything other than Placido, Sarah, and Paul. Can we just accept now that this is a magnificent composition, and more people need to do it? PLEASE?? I am kind of falling in love with this tenor...
A very strong start but he falters in Pie Jesu then looks like he is having to (cleverly) adapt downward for the remainder of the performance. It’s a big ask for anyone so no issues here. All are fantastic but the adult performers are near flawless in a very challenging piece.

when i was in child choir ( this was 25 years ago) we practised it. i was picked as the solo but it got dropped as well and i remember being so sad...
