    I am More than 70 years old .. French but I studied in America and worked in mid Town of the Big Apple ... and after marrying a Bulgarian girl ... I decided to live in Phillipopolis since 2002 ... So you may guess how I agree with your videos ! Go on and please keep the Bulgarian identity alive !

      Oh wow! Your life sounds pretty similar to mine 😊. I LOVE Philippopolis (Plovdiv). My chicho lives there and it is definitely one of my favorite cities in Bulgaria. You are very lucky 🍀😊

    Easter on a farm is so much better then in a city.👍Thanks for sharing your time and family with us. Blessed Days...

      I agree! I will go so far as saying I think like on the farm is better than life in the city. Just my opinion! 😃🐐🐓
      Thank you so much for watching! Best wishes!! 😊

    Happy Easter to you, your family, and all who celebrate! You are so right about the modern industrial food supply: Grown in poor/toxic conditions; it loses nutrients in storage/transportation; and it is bizarrely loaded with toxic chemicals (which food should NEVER have). Natural food tastes better because our bodies realize it IS better. I'm stunned that Easter is occuring so early in the calender in the Western Christian world because it should be tied to Passover (Jesus was in Jerusalem for Passover) and our Passover this year is not until sunset April 22 (our Jewish calendar is a lunar calendar and we have a leap month this year to keep it in synch with the solar calendar, pushing Passover later in the solar calendar). So the Eastern Orthodox calendar is much closer to Passover this year. Love your videos! Blessings to you and your family. 🥀🌻💖

      Thank you so much John! I know Passover is still a while away I’m sure you guys are getting ready for it!
      The food issue is at crisis level in my opinion but the sad thing is we can’t do anything to help the masses… all we can do is grow our own food and hope that little by little others will do the same. It’s very difficult though because most people have no choice but to live in big cities for work.. it’s a mess.
      We were all so confused about Easter being so early this year too 😄. I still hold tradition and celebrate both Easters but Bulgarian Easter is definitely the bigger one for us. We are counting down the weeks! 🐰🐣🌺

    Good to see, thanks Laurie.
    I don't think anything will change with mass produced food. People in cities do have the choice of buying from farmers markets.

      Thanks so much for watching! I hope the new spring season is treating you well! 🌸😊🌺
      Sadly, I think your right…
      Farmers markets are definitely an option but unfortunately in NYC they are insanely expensive 😕

      @@sistersofbulgaria9396 hehe, you're up early, Laurie - farm time ? 🌄
      There's nothing worse than profiteers latching on to a social movements and disenfranchising people 😕They're often adept at accessing taxpayer funding, too. It's the same in the UK.

    The problem these days is that more and more food is processed. But even in England just a few decades ago there was more natural unpolluted food available. And there were more local shops selling that food. Today its all very big supermarkets.

    Subscribed, this is so cool to watch. Btw, I will try to do traditional Bulgarian eggs this year with the wax drawing and painting them in red. I bought a little kit for wax drawing and I'll do my best bit I expect them to look ridiculous 😂.
    The food in this video 😍
    And yes, Easter is the biggest Orthodox celebration.

      Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! I’m so happy you liked the video 😊. Ooooo do it and let me know how they turned out!! We tried a new way which actually turned out very nice. You just take some onion skins, crumble them up and stick them to a wet egg. Wrap the egg with the onion skins in a stocking and boil them for a few minutes. Then just dye the eggs as usual with the onion skin and wrapping still on….That sounded a bit more complicated than I had hoped haha 😆 but the eggs come out with these really cool colorful designs.
      Thank you again so much for watching and subscribing and let me know if you like how your eggs turn out! 😊🐣🐰

      Happy Easter (“na pateritzi”)!! This is what we say in Bulgaria when we wish someone a happy holiday or birthday a little late. It means “Happy Easter on Crutches” 😄😄. I hope you and tie family had an amazing Easter full of love and joy!!! 🐣🐰❤️ I have never experienced Easter in the Netherlands but I can imagine how amazing it is. Do you paint eggs and East lamb?! You are so lucky to get to celebrate again in Bulgaria! I think you will have a blast! 🥰

      Hey! I’m sorry again for not responding sooner. I don’t get notifications about message responses on here and they keep getting buried.
      That sounds so fun! I’ve always wanted to travel in a camper. A lot of people travel this way in Bulgaria.. especially to the beach over the summer.
      Do you have instagram? We can keep in touch there if you do. 😊

    I had lamb at a Greek restaurant in the 80s, but they had the mint jelly which American taste buds are not used to....lamb was great though.
    It's important for viewers to click the top bell "ALL" on your subscribe because I didn't see any of your last 4 vids, and I just double checked the most recent one, not there. "Personalized" is what i'd checked.
    after Giuliani left in 2001, i suppose Bloomberg was an insincere, but actual buffer zone, then after him, it all went downhill.
    New York is in the top 5 most expensive states to live in and my state WA is number 5, heard this on radio...

    • @sistersofbulgaria9396
      @sistersofbulgaria9396  4 месяца назад +1

      I have never tried Mint Jelly but my mom jokes around all the time how weird it is. It’s not something we eat in Bulgaria and doesn’t sound Ike something I would like. We put “djodjan” on lamb which is a type of mint but only in dry form.. never a jelly.
      Omg thank you for telling me! To be honest I noticed that my view count has gone down a bit on some videos which was a bit discouraging but I figured it’s ok.. but hearing your not seeing the videos pop up is really upsetting 😔. I will definitely take your advice and mention that whoever wants can click the little bel. Thank you so much again! It’s not a good feeling when you put your heart and soul in a video and it doesn’t show up 😕
      Oooo I actually heard that NYC was the most expensive city in the entire world (yes! More than Hong Kong, etc). I don’t know if it is still the most expensive but it definitely feels that way. It’s crazy. Sad to hear WA is very expensive too 😕 They are killing “the American Dream” slowly but surely …

    How much is a small house? Are you located near a airport like 2 hour's close lol

    • @sistersofbulgaria9396
      @sistersofbulgaria9396  4 месяца назад

      Ooooo noooo. We are very far from the airport. 😃 6 hours away if you drive fast. More if you drive slow. We don’t even have a town close enough to walk. We are hidden very far in the mountains and the road has a lot of twists and turns so you cannot drive fast. To be honest I don’t know what the prices of the houses are right now because there aren’t any houses for sale here. What I know is that the price of houses in Bulgaria has jumped because we are preparing for the euro. It’s not as cheap as it used to be.
