I've been ketovore for 2 1/2 yrs, down 220lbs and my ketones basically stay at a .2 at first it freaked me out, but not worrying about it anymore since I lost all my weight before I ever checked my ketones for the first time.
@@ApexOverlord if you watch Dr. Berg, he explains why you only have high ketone in the beginning because they’re excess once your body becomes keto adapted you won’t have excess ketones in your urine but you’re still gonna lose weight
I just made a keto chocolate cheesecake for my friends birthday. I was cutting it into a specific shape so I had random pieces left and popped a small one in my mouth. I am so sensitive to sugar alcohols. Major headache and I break out. So I guess I don’t need to worry about using those for myself. Dr. Mindy Peltz explains fasting numbers really well...she really focuses on fasting if anyone is interested. Look up her RUclips channel as well. Your am glucose reading will be high and should go down during the day, your ketone numbers most likely will be low and go up during the day. Great advice, I love your channel!

So all in all, if I’m making sure my carb intake is low enough and not ingesting the wrong sweeteners then I don’t need to worry about testing ketones! I’m definitely gonna keep testing my urine to give me a clue when I’m getting fat adapted! This video helped me a lot. Thanks Kait!
No, I've never seen anybody counseling to test blood keytones first think in the morning. Most people giving advise know about the dawn effect. I test 23 hrs fasted and usually rate at .3 to .5. I know by how I feel that I am in fact in ketosis as I've lost over 120lbs and eating this way for over 5 yrs. My explanation for my low numbers is simply that my body has become extremely efficient at only creating just enough ketone bodies for my needs, so those ketones get used up as fast as they are created. So like pee strips, your numbers will go down as you become more better adapted over time. Ketones out, keytones in, no ketone traffic jam in the blood. Hmmm? 🤔
Dr Boz is completely obsessed with first-thing-in-the-morning testing🙄. I sort of get her point. Pre-waking cortisol causes a rise in blood glucose (especially from any residual liver glycogen), and that raises insulin which stops ketone production. I think she uses it as a de facto measure of residual liver glycogen
My ketones are lowest after I finish my fast. I fast for 18 hours daily. I started testing Monday after two weeks on keto diet. Glucose 104 Ketone 0.5 after my fast? Monday night two hours after eating and in my fast. Glucose 93 ketone 1.2. And then today after my fast, glucose 104 ketone 0.4. Is my fasting lowering my ketones?
I've been carnivore for 10 months and wasn't checking my ketones. For kicks and giggle I thought I'd get a blood monitor and so far my readings are .3 or .2. I've been focusing on fat, take MCT oil in my coffee in the morning, eat goat cheese every day and eat no processed keto foods. What gives? I'm concerned because I'm doing this to avoid Alzheimer's, which both my mother and grandmother got early in life (late 50s -early 60s). Help.
This is exaaaactly what was happening to me! Diet was perfect.. everything in line with clean Keto.. and always .5 in the morning.. then by the end(ish) of the day, they’d jump up to 1.3.. made me realize to not get so caught up in the numbers.

Not sugar free) Lettuce, tomato, and mayo on side TWO of my husband's fries A couple bites of a new keto chocolate cake i tried, using almond flour, monk fruit, cacao powder, avocado oil (right before the bottle broke!), and 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, store bought. I didn't eat much, because i wasn't crazy about it. I didn't drink enough water; i never do. Maybe 3 glasses today. That was every single thing i consumed. Definitely did not hit 20 carbs. Other than the keto cake i tried, this is not abnormal. Yesterday was grilled chicken with broccoli and cauliflower. I gained weight overnight! Just ridiculous. On the other hand, I'm down two pant sizes.
Hi Kait! Great video and just what I needed. I've been struggling/stressing over my Ketone readings from day one. Started with the strips and quickly discovered they were useless. Then moved to the blood monitor and went with the majority opinion of measuring first thing. Readings would generally fall between .5 and.7. I was loosing weight though and felt great. I went on a cruise last week and went carnivore for the week (to keep things easy and not have to track macros). I did eat one dessert during the week long cruise, which is amazing for me!!! I knew I would be knocked out of ketosis by this, but figured I would get back in quickly after already being fat adapted. It's been almost a week now since that one dessert and my ketones are only reading .2. I will take a reading before bedtime tonight to see if reads better... hoping so! Keto has really helped my blood glucose! Before Keto it measured 248. I am now in normal range (110-120) without any meds whatsoever!

Same situation with me currently. Blood ketones measuring 0.5 - 0.7 although having less than 20g carbs per day. Weight has dropped significantly in 2 months however, from 74kg to 65kg and feeling great. I am also focusing more on enjoying the Keto lifestyle rather than obsessing with the numbers now that weight target has been met.
I have been carnivore for a month now. I was already on keto. I started carnivore to try and correct my inflammation and arthritis. First two weeks my afternoon ketones were 2.7 and glucose 78 on my ketomojo. Now fast forward to a month on carnivore, my morning readings are glucose 98 and my ketones 0.3. after 23 hour fast. I only eat once every 24 hours. I am like how the heck are these numbers possible? I am eating fatty Chuck roast fat and all...salt and water. I am confused.
After totally blowing my keto style of eating from Thanksgiving through New Years Day, I went back to Keto,, lost 6 lbs (water weight) and over time gained 3 back. Started doing intermittent fasting. I was experimenting with Keto Chow shakes, which did not help. Also was eating SF jello, for my sweet tooth. Now I am trying not to have sweet treats. Just bought Glucose meter and after fasting and eating 40 min. later -94. Keto meter - only 0.5. I am a 64 yr old woman on pain medications. Please help??
Hi Kait, I apologize, this is going to be a long comment, but I just found you 3 months ago and don't know where else to go to ask my question. I am not able to get into to ketosis. My levels are not even close. I am eating around, in general around 900 to 1,000 calories a day. I have green tea in the morning with some electorlytes (no carbs or sugar), and a tablespoon of MCT oil. about 3 hours later I have lunch. usually a salad with some kind of protein, a few cherry tomatoes, cheese, 1/2 avocado and an avocado vinaigrette salad dressing. Then, about 4 hours later I have dinner. 6 oz of protein and either a salad or asparagus or grilled mixed veggies (onion, zucchini, red peppers). My carb percentage I always try to keep in the 5% - 10% range (always below 25 g), my fat is just a little below 70% (around 70 g) and protein is about 25% (between 50-60 g) and yet my keto range is generally .1 or .2 and ocassionally I get a .4 or .5. I have yet to get over .5. I use a keto mojo for blood readings. I have lost about 25 lbs over 3 months, but these last 3 weeks I have remained the same, no weight loss. I do not exercise yet. It seems I should be in ketosis, I don't understand why I am not. My glucose is always in a great range (80-90). So, I'm very happy about that because I was considered pre-diabetic to diabetic before I started my keto diet 3 months ago. Can you please help me as to why I am not in ketosis? I know you said some people will always have a low ketosis reading, but does that mean they will never be in ketosis? If not, then how do I know my body is healthy? Maybe there is something else happening I should be concerned about? Thank you.
That is exactly my problem and I have no idea why is it like this. Is it possible that insulin is always high? That would prevent creation of keatons. Have you found solution in the mean time?
I can't believe I found this Diet revolutionized the way that I think about discovered that diet doesn't have to be scary and can easily be integrated into my daily routine when I started following their diet plan.
if you feel great who cares. ive had 2.9 before and felt crummy, ive had 0.2 and felt great and vice versa. Its more important to keep exploring and figuring out what food / food preparations bother you. today i recently discovered oats give me that awful woozy feeling and rendered fat gives me hug-the-bowl nausea (now i know to drain the fat and add some like cheese or butter)
What I see with a continuous ketone monitor is that ketones develope in wave patterns. Usually low in the morning because of gluconeogenisis and I personally have the highest values between 01.00 AM and 03.00 AM. If you randomly measure ketone levels in the blood it may just be a gamble.
Hi Kait. Awesome video. Keep it up! I was wondering, would eating too much protein in one given meal cause the ketones to drop? My ketones were 1.6/mmol this morning fasting. After lunch, (around 65g protein) I waited two hours and tested and it was .4/mmol. Was it just too much protein kicking me out of ketosis?
Hi Normaan! I think that eating too much fiber kicking you out of ketosis is a bit of a myth (to an extent). Your ketones may go down just after eating because your body is getting energy from the food, and not needing to make it internally. So I wouldn't worry about it!
im 2 months in to keto......strict keto...under 20g carb per day AND im doing 16-8 IF.....and today my fasted ( pre meal ) blood ketone reading was 0.2 and my blood glucose was 89 at night......makes no sense
Thanks for the video. I'm 2 months in and - 45 lbs and feel better than I have in decades. I got a blood strip tester the other day. I tested after a 24 mile bike ride and it was .8. I watched a video by Thomas Delauer and he said that often after exercising they'll drop. So, I ate, waited a few hrs and they were 1.1. Today, after work I tested. Had bulletproof coffee, a chicken thigh for lunch and that was pretty much it. Tested and it was .9. So, I ate dinner, sausage and 3 eggs, waited a few hrs, retested and it was .6. When is the optimal time for testing when you've eaten? Could it really be too much protein? Hope to hear form you. ✌️ 🐯

I am on keto diet for about an year now. I am using a breathe analyzer to measure my ketones. It was quite fine, but for the last few days I am getting 0.0. I am wondering why.
Watched the video yesterday so tested first thing & after lunch today (day 4 of egg fast so jump starting and want to make sure nothing sneaky slowing me down). The afternoon color was slightly higher! I do 16/8 so lunch was my first meal. Coffee, hot tea & water only until noon. Thanks! Right now the smallest “gains” help keep you on track.
Nice! Ya my morning readings are ALWAYS low, unless I am doing a long fast. It was so discouraging and I am glad I realized it wasn't the end of the world haha.

Also on electrolyte use a pinch of LITE SALT or NO SALT in your drink because they have potassium chloride And also a pinch of EPSON SALT for the magnesium.
Hi Kaitlin, I love ur channel! Have been doing Keto for half year n my approach is similar to yours, more of a Keto-carnivores style. My fat and protein ratio is about 1:1 (gram for gram) n I usually keep my carb ( not net carb) intake under 30g. But have been experiencing hair loss recently n occasional break out. Just wondering if u’ve experienced this problem n what’s ur macro? Truly appreciate ur advice.
Hair loss usually means you aren't getting enough protein. Up that a bit, and add some collagen powder or bone broth into your diet as well. Break out could be due to too many omega 6s. Do you eat many nuts? If so, you could try cutting those back a bit. I don't track my macros regularly, but they're somewhere around 60 fat, 40 protein!
When I test with it one strips I only test in the morning because if I test later on my itinerary is diluted from all the water I’m drinking lol. But I just got a blood ketone meter and I’ve been eating less than 6 net carbs a day and 1,200 calories and am a still only at 0.4! I’ve lost 100 lbs so far this year on keto and am coming off of a 2 month hiatus lol. I was still eating keto just going over calories and up to 30 net carbs and had two cheat days in those two months lol so it was a mess and I know I wasn’t in ketosis. But I’m back on track now and boy it’s frustrating because I’ve already lost 5 lbs this week but still not in nutritional ketosis! Heck the itinerary strip even showed me finally at 1.5 but blood only 0.4. Ugghhh
Im here because somehow my ketones reading has changed.. i was testing purple all day long for 3 months...now my readings wpuld be low in the morning and high at night.. just started taking fish oil and keto supplement i wonder if this caused it...

It might matter because you may be sacrificing lean body mass because you’re not in ketosis. You don’t want to be losing 200 grams of muscle a day if you can avoid it.

Hi Kait I know this video is old however I just started checking my blood ketones after a year of being keto. I’m now venturing into carnivore and since I’ve been doing it my blood ketones is 0 like I’m not even in ketosis according to my readings and it really has stressed me out. I tested after a bulletproof coffee and it had me at a 0.2 I just had eggs, chaffles and bacon and I’m at 0.3 like wth??? I’m so confused 😐 I can’t even get to .5 this is nuts. Hello Kait, I have been carnivore for 2 weeks after keto for 17 months. I got severe diarrhoea due to accidentally having gluten. Have several autoimmune conditions. The beef only has helped enormously. Now a bathroom visit daily instead of 6-8 times. BUT my blood ketones have taken a dive. 1.5 down to 0.3, or 0.2. I am not loosing weight at all. Despite 0 carbs. Weight has dropped 20 Kgm in 17 months. Still another 20 kgm to loose. When my diet is 0 carbs why are my ketones so low? Listened to your video and still can’t find an answer. If you say it doesn’t matter then I will stop being concerned. I have great respect for your opinion.

Health Coach Kait I have watched your OMAD video. Considered this but find it hard to eat enough. I regularly do 2MAD In 6 hours with 18 hr fasting. That suits me fine. Never eat other than in that 6 hour window. Occasionally have home made bone broth in evening. I am fully carnivore thanks to your encouragement. Also do longer term fasting. On 72 hours now after watching you do it. Last week I did 40 hour fasts twice. Didn’t loose anything. My scales now have flat battery and can’t replace. No shops open. Our stage 4 is extended for another 2 weeks. Daniel Andrews announced today. Oh well! I feel great when fasting and no trouble. I find it easier than you did. Would be happy to never eat again. Since lower insulin signals ketone production maybe people with insulin resistance and higher basal insulin levels will produce lower ketones. Just a hypothesis.

gangelo from what i understand the urine strips just test the excess ketones so theoretically if you become fat adapted then you may not have excess ketones especially if your burning a lot of calories exercising because your body is using them all in the process but testing your blood will show that you are in ketosis range because your catching the ketones as there being shuttled in your blood to where there needed. Anyone Correct me if i’m wrong this is just what i think is happening as i had the same issue. :) Hope that helps.
Ive been doing keto and i took the strips 4 days and it was pretty dark but the mext day i took one and it was lighter and now i feel discouraged. Does this mean im going out of ketosis? Or does it mean my bodys getting used to ketones
So many factors at play, don't worry about the strips. They aren't accurate in the grand scheme of things. If your keeping your carbs below 20 every day, you will be in ketosis.
Keto stix show me really high in ketones but it's been over two months that I've been in ketosis and they are still high. I'm afraid my body is not using the ketones properly yet
How do you feel is the big question? I actually filmed a video yesterday about how to tell if you are fat adapted so that will be up in the next couple of weeks! But are you able to go hours between meals? Is your energy consistent through the day?
@@HealthCoachKait Yeah, my energy is consistent. I fast about 18 to 20 hours per day and it is very easy to do (no hunger pangs or binge eating since I got off carbs). I've also been lifting weights three times a week to try to get rid of excess body fat.
I wouldn't worry too much if you are feeling good! You might just be on the opposite end of the spectrum and be someone who has naturally higher ketone levels.

@@ApexOverlordYour likely eating too much protein. To get in ketosis you have to decrease your protein and increase fat. :)
once you get into ketosis you can decrease the fat in order to lose weight

Thanks for the video. I am fasting every day . It means that fasting is my daily routine. Before food my keto 2.3 or 2.6 or 1.8.. After food 0.9.

Weight has dropped significantly in 2 months however, from 74kg to 65kg and feeling great. I am also focusing more on enjoying the Keto lifestyle rather than obsessing with the numbers now that weight target has been met.
I have been carnivore for a month now. I was already on keto.
I started carnivore to try and correct my inflammation and arthritis. First two weeks my afternoon ketones were 2.7 and glucose 78 on my ketomojo.
Now fast forward to a month on carnivore, my morning readings are glucose 98 and my ketones 0.3. after 23 hour fast. I only eat once every 24 hours. I am like how the heck are these numbers possible?
I am eating fatty Chuck roast fat and all...salt and water.
I am confused.

After totally blowing my keto style of eating from Thanksgiving through New Years Day, I went back to Keto,, lost 6 lbs (water weight) and over time gained 3 back. Started doing intermittent fasting. I was experimenting with Keto Chow shakes, which did not help. Also was eating SF jello, for my sweet tooth. Now I am trying not to have sweet treats. Just bought Glucose meter and after fasting and eating 40 min. later -94. Keto meter - only 0.5. I am a 64 yr old woman on pain medications. Please help??
Hi Kait, I apologize, this is going to be a long comment, but I just found you 3 months ago and don't know where else to go to ask my question. I am not able to get into to ketosis. My levels are not even close. I am eating around, in general around 900 to 1,000 calories a day. I have green tea in the morning with some electorlytes (no carbs or sugar), and a tablespoon of MCT oil. about 3 hours later I have lunch. usually a salad with some kind of protein, a few cherry tomatoes, cheese, 1/2 avocado and an avocado vinaigrette salad dressing. Then, about 4 hours later I have dinner. 6 oz of protein and either a salad or asparagus or grilled mixed veggies (onion, zucchini, red peppers). My carb percentage I always try to keep in the 5% - 10% range (always below 25 g), my fat is just a little below 70% (around 70 g) and protein is about 25% (between 50-60 g) and yet my keto range is generally .1 or .2 and ocassionally I get a .4 or .5. I have yet to get over .5. I use a keto mojo for blood readings. I have lost about 25 lbs over 3 months, but these last 3 weeks I have remained the same, no weight loss. I do not exercise yet. It seems I should be in ketosis, I don't understand why I am not. My glucose is always in a great range (80-90). So, I'm very happy about that because I was considered pre-diabetic to diabetic before I started my keto diet 3 months ago. Can you please help me as to why I am not in ketosis? I know you said some people will always have a low ketosis reading, but does that mean they will never be in ketosis? If not, then how do I know my body is healthy? Maybe there is something else happening I should be concerned about? Thank you.
That is exactly my problem and I have no idea why is it like this. Is it possible that insulin is always high? That would prevent creation of keatons. Have you found solution in the mean time?
You are undereating at that calorie range.

I can't believe I found this Diet revolutionized the way that I think about discovered that diet doesn't have to be scary and can easily be integrated into my daily routine when I started following their diet plan.
if you feel great who cares. ive had 2.9 before and felt crummy, ive had 0.2 and felt great and vice versa. Its more important to keep exploring and figuring out what food / food preparations bother you. today i recently discovered oats give me that awful woozy feeling and rendered fat gives me hug-the-bowl nausea (now i know to drain the fat and add some like cheese or butter)
What I see with a continuous ketone monitor is that ketones develope in wave patterns. Usually low in the morning because of gluconeogenisis and I personally have the highest values between 01.00 AM and 03.00 AM. If you randomly measure ketone levels in the blood it may just be a gamble.
Hi Kait. Awesome video. Keep it up! I was wondering, would eating too much protein in one given meal cause the ketones to drop? My ketones were 1.6/mmol this morning fasting. After lunch, (around 65g protein) I waited two hours and tested and it was .4/mmol. Was it just too much protein kicking me out of ketosis?
Hi Normaan! I think that eating too much fiber kicking you out of ketosis is a bit of a myth (to an extent). Your ketones may go down just after eating because your body is getting energy from the food, and not needing to make it internally. So I wouldn't worry about it!

im 2 months in to keto......strict keto...under 20g carb per day AND im doing 16-8 IF.....and today my fasted ( pre meal ) blood ketone reading was 0.2 and my blood glucose was 89 at night......makes no sense

I got a blood strip tester the other day. I tested after a 24 mile bike ride and it was .8. I watched a video by Thomas Delauer and he said that often after exercising they'll drop.
So, I ate, waited a few hrs and they were 1.1. Today, after work I tested. Had bulletproof coffee, a chicken thigh for lunch and that was pretty much it. Tested and it was .9. So, I ate dinner, sausage and 3 eggs, waited a few hrs, retested and it was .6. When is the optimal time for testing when you've eaten? Could it really be too much protein?

I am on keto diet for about an year now. I am using a breathe analyzer to measure my ketones. It was quite fine, but for the last few days I am getting 0.0. I am wondering why.
Watched the video yesterday so tested first thing & after lunch today (day 4 of egg fast so jump starting and want to make sure nothing sneaky slowing me down). The afternoon color was slightly higher! I do 16/8 so lunch was my first meal. Coffee, hot tea & water only until noon. Thanks! Right now the smallest “gains” help keep you on track.
Nice! Ya my morning readings are ALWAYS low, unless I am doing a long fast. It was so discouraging and I am glad I realized it wasn't the end of the world haha.

Also on electrolyte use a pinch of LITE SALT or NO SALT in your drink because they have potassium chloride And also a pinch of EPSON SALT for the magnesium.
on the blood test and breath test, breath is lower but close. If the breath reads 1.3 the blood test will read around 0.7 or 0.8
Hi Kaitlin, I love ur channel! Have been doing Keto for half year n my approach is similar to yours, more of a Keto-carnivores style. My fat and protein ratio is about 1:1 (gram for gram) n I usually keep my carb ( not net carb) intake under 30g. But have been experiencing hair loss recently n occasional break out. Just wondering if u’ve experienced this problem n what’s ur macro? Truly appreciate ur advice.
Hair loss usually means you aren't getting enough protein. Up that a bit, and add some collagen powder or bone broth into your diet as well.
Break out could be due to too many omega 6s. Do you eat many nuts? If so, you could try cutting those back a bit.
I don't track my macros regularly, but they're somewhere around 60 fat, 40 protein!
3:1 fat to protein, and up your protein, you will see results soon

I chew gum all day long and it has Xylitol . that might be why my ketones are lower
When I test with it one strips I only test in the morning because if I test later on my itinerary is diluted from all the water I’m drinking lol. But I just got a blood ketone meter and I’ve been eating less than 6 net carbs a day and 1,200 calories and am a still only at 0.4! I’ve lost 100 lbs so far this year on keto and am coming off of a 2 month hiatus lol. I was still eating keto just going over calories and up to 30 net carbs and had two cheat days in those two months lol so it was a mess and I know I wasn’t in ketosis. But I’m back on track now and boy it’s frustrating because I’ve already lost 5 lbs this week but still not in nutritional ketosis! Heck the itinerary strip even showed me finally at 1.5 but blood only 0.4. Ugghhh
Im here because somehow my ketones reading has changed.. i was testing purple all day long for 3 months...now my readings wpuld be low in the morning and high at night.. just started taking fish oil and keto supplement i wonder if this caused it...
If you have been keto for 3 months the strips are not going to be accurate. Don't worry about checking them, it doesn't matter 🙂

It only matters if you want to be in any sort of real ketosis
It might matter because you may be sacrificing lean body mass because you’re not in ketosis. You don’t want to be losing 200 grams of muscle a day if you can avoid it.
I don't get it. My ketones on my urine strips are usually high and the ketones in my blood has been sucking lately and I've been doing this so freakin' strict for almost 2 months. I lost a ton of weight, but I'm so confused.

Hi Kait I know this video is old however I just started checking my blood ketones after a year of being keto. I’m now venturing into carnivore and since I’ve been doing it my blood ketones is 0 like I’m not even in ketosis according to my readings and it really has stressed me out. I tested after a bulletproof coffee and it had me at a 0.2 I just had eggs, chaffles and bacon and I’m at 0.3 like wth??? I’m so confused 😐 I can’t even get to .5 this is nuts. I’m really paying attention to what could be causing it but I can’t seem to find the corporate.
Honestly, don't stress about it. If you can go hours between meals and still be energized, you're in ketosis.

Hello Kait, I have been carnivore for 2 weeks after keto for 17 months. I got severe diarrhoea due to accidentally having gluten. Have several autoimmune conditions. The beef only has helped enormously. Now a bathroom visit daily instead of 6-8 times. BUT my blood ketones have taken a dive. 1.5 down to 0.3, or 0.2. I am not loosing weight at all. Despite 0 carbs. Weight has dropped 20 Kgm in 17 months. Still another 20 kgm to loose. When my diet is 0 carbs why are my ketones so low? Listened to your video and still can’t find an answer. If you say it doesn’t matter then I will stop being concerned. I have great respect for your opinion.

Health Coach Kait I have watched your OMAD video. Considered this but find it hard to eat enough. I regularly do 2MAD In 6 hours with 18 hr fasting. That suits me fine. Never eat other than in that 6 hour window. Occasionally have home made bone broth in evening. I am fully carnivore thanks to your encouragement. Also do longer term fasting. On 72 hours now after watching you do it. Last week I did 40 hour fasts twice. Didn’t loose anything. My scales now have flat battery and can’t replace. No shops open. Our stage 4 is extended for another 2 weeks. Daniel Andrews announced today. Oh well! I feel great when fasting and no trouble. I find it easier than you did. Would be happy to never eat again. Since lower insulin signals ketone production maybe people with insulin resistance and higher basal insulin levels will produce lower ketones. Just a hypothesis.

gangelo from what i understand the urine strips just test the excess ketones so theoretically if you become fat adapted then you may not have excess ketones especially if your burning a lot of calories exercising because your body is using them all in the process but testing your blood will show that you are in ketosis range because your catching the ketones as there being shuttled in your blood to where there needed. Anyone Correct me if i’m wrong this is just what i think is happening as i had the same issue. :) Hope that helps.
Ive been doing keto and i took the strips 4 days and it was pretty dark but the mext day i took one and it was lighter and now i feel discouraged. Does this mean im going out of ketosis? Or does it mean my bodys getting used to ketones

So many factors at play, don't worry about the strips. They aren't accurate in the grand scheme of things. If your keeping your carbs below 20 every day, you will be in ketosis.

Keto stix show me really high in ketones but it's been over two months that I've been in ketosis and they are still high. I'm afraid my body is not using the ketones properly yet
How do you feel is the big question? I actually filmed a video yesterday about how to tell if you are fat adapted so that will be up in the next couple of weeks! But are you able to go hours between meals? Is your energy consistent through the day?
@@HealthCoachKait Yeah, my energy is consistent. I fast about 18 to 20 hours per day and it is very easy to do (no hunger pangs or binge eating since I got off carbs). I've also been lifting weights three times a week to try to get rid of excess body fat.
I wouldn't worry too much if you are feeling good! You might just be on the opposite end of the spectrum and be someone who has naturally higher ketone levels.
