      Wyn, I think the point Graham Hancock makes deserves discussion rather than glib dismissive statements like yours above. His point being is Egyptologists ,when in university are given a framework of understanding by their teachers and in order to pass their degree and the gain employment they have to demonstrate they understand and can develop on that framework, to dismantle that framework or say to their masters, you have it all wrong will mean they will never get a good enough grade to gain a qualification. Its a knowledge prison where any new contradictory information that comes to light is dismissed if it doesn't fit the paradigm.
      I feel the reason this happens is it is a human trait to not want to be told that everything you thought you knew was wrong, the books you wrote are wrong, the young people you have taught have been taught wrong and so on.

      Hancock is very well known fraud, He is a proven con man known throughout the field for misrepresenting dates, evidence and simply making shit up, his methods are completely unscientific and he does it to sell books and make money from tv programs. it is really that simple, anything he says or claims can and should be dismissed without any need for further discussion.

    Great logic by the Egyptologists: "Too many crazies are attracted to the pyramids, so we don't want to deal with it." Seems like what they mean is that they can't come up with an explanation within the framework they have decided on, so it's easier to just ignore the subject.

      They engage in a hell of a lot more speculation than the majority of alternate researchers for sure. Yeah we get some that immediately jump to aliens this, time travel that but they're pretty small. By and large archaeology/Egyptology is 50% speculation, often fairly baseless too. At worst the majority of alternate research is based on logical inference merely as a means to investigate specific aspects further rather than dogmatically hammer it home as proven fact like the mainstream does.

    39:30 Gobekly tepe dates to this period, 12 to 14 thousand years ago, the carvings made there are the same technic as the sphinx, and only 500 km away from Egypt. So what is the denial argument now ?
    why we have nothing for 1 or 2 thousand years after a diluvian catastrophi ? well, civilazations living close to the ocean would be destroyed as the sea level gone up 500ft, and human population numbers would decrease to few survivors of great civilazation, passing knowlogy to resilient hunter gatherers. The thousand years period right after the catastrophi is called younger dryas, when the climate was colder and people had to learn how to survive again.
    What we see 10.000 years ago it's not the star of human civilazation, it's actually the restart after this period ended and people could farm in a more stable climate and human population increase again. The Giza plateau literally Reflects the memory of this rebirth, building the pyramids over already sacred sites marked as the sky was 10.500 bc.

    Thank you gentlemen for this lecture. I respect your work very much. I agree that the purpose of the Great Pyramid was to have a landmark in the middle of the Earth that is aligned with the star constellation Orion. But why were those pyramids at Giza really built? Not to host the body of an unimportant pharaoh but to save knowledge. They were built by a high educated and skilled Previous Civilization that knew that they would vanish because of a recurring, thus predictable natural disaster. They made the Great Pyramid as a message from them to us. In the pyramid their history must have been recorded. And they may have left interesting knowledge for us. I am sure that the recently found sarcophagus deep under the pyramid contained information. But Hawass denies this. We should force Egypt to make this information accessible to scientist from different countries. This is not a matter from Egypt alone. It is world heritage. That recurring disaster is caused by the ninth planet of our solar system, also known as Nibiru. That planet is known for thousands of years. We find abundant and convincing evidence for the crossing of this planet 9 and the cycle of civilizations that is the effect of the disasters. To learn much more about the cycle of civilizations and its timeline, recurring floods and ancient high tech, read the e-book:"Planet 9 = Nibiru" You can read it nicely on every computer, tablet or smartphone. Just search for: invisible nibiru 9

    • @charlieyellowstone8248
      @charlieyellowstone8248 2 года назад

      I agree with you about Nibiru but it is a separate planet from a Mini Solar System and the star of that system is called Nemesis.
      Dr. Robert Harrington knew this.

  • @deeryan4071
    @deeryan4071 8 лет назад +2

    One error in this video is that at 35:18, the theory is given that the Giza was a fertile land with an outcropping of rock that the people took advantage of to "carve a giant face (head) of a lion or god". No mention of carving a body at all. But then after the theorized flooding from the melting ice age, it became a desert, and now - suddenly - there's also a body attached to the head, from beneath the ground which used to be fertile ground but now is sand, with an equally (or more so) weathered body. Either the graphic shown (carving just a head) was wrong and the narration or explanation was wrong - or this opens a new series of questions about how the body of the sphinx got there. But why are the Egyptologists and others saying that if we accept that the pyramids and other now uncovered structures are 10,000 years old or older, "look what we're "stuck" with"... STUCK with?? Shouldn't they be saying "Look what we're GIVEN to study and LEARN from"? This should be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the earth and the beginnings of civilizations, our history and how things came to be, not treated as an "inconvenience" for the so-called experts. If we're really trying to understand humanity, to learn the truth, we should welcome this information; it could help to explain all the other theories and ideologies and ancient texts we already have. Even if the truth proves other beliefs to be distorted or outright fictions, so what? I find the melting ice-age and resulting global flooding that would have occurred, a fascinating explanation to why there are so many civilizations and religions that have a "flood story" in their writings. Dates and interpretations might be wrong in the stories, but the fact of a global flood would explain why it figures so dramatically in virtually every civilization story.

    The middle pyramid , the one with the tunnel leading to the Sphinx, is actually taller than the Great Pyramid. It's just built on a lower slab. Robert M. Schoch once speculated that it might have born more significance to the Egyptians than the Great Pyramid.

  • @ebayerr
    @ebayerr 8 лет назад +7

    Construction of the Pyramids and the Sphinx on the Giza Plateau would have to been started long before 10,500 B.C. in order to be aligned with their corresponding stars and equinox of 10,500 B.C.
    That means the builders would've had knowledge of the stars and sun position years in advance of their completion.

    I think these ancient gods were the first humans, there's something mind blowing to it, but we'll probably never know. The contrast between then and now is just so staggering. There must have been dozens of master sculptors and all kinds of unknown masters, and all of them mere mortals?.

    referring to the creation story around 37:00 he speaks about the earth being covered in water and land rising. With the dates correlating to the dates of 12000 y/o. Just maybe could the egyptians be describing the possible cataclysmic event that restarted civilization? Maybe these gods were more realistically the wiser fabled survivors of such a catastrophe? Then these wiser men pass down this information to later rebuild into an almost arg story telling device

    At about 6 min in Hancock says 500 years ago our civilisation did not even know the earth was a sphere. Well as far as I am aware the ancient Greeks knew it was a sphere and had calculated the approximate size of it .Now the ancient Greek civilisation is certainly not as old as the pyramids I grant but they certainly predate the 1500s

    "where is all the stuff between?" Says the egyptologist.
    Well, considering that Giza had been inundated by a flood due to the hydrologic change of the Nile that was so bad it covered the whole region with silt and eventually turned it into a desert... fleeing people who lived would have stayed away for quite some time, maybe thousands of years while that region was going through major environmental changes. This would explain the break between the dating of the great sphinx and the rest of the complex.
    Let's say the original great sphinx was 14 thousand years old. Rain washes over the structure causing the erosion. Then the major change of the weather and Nile take place and completely disrupt the civilization. The place turns to desert and the people went south, like Nubian stories say. Then some people move back north and other Africans from other areas come and settle once things settled down. The original tech lost, it would take them time to figure things out again. 3-4 thousand years go by and then they restart the complex and start building the foundations for the pyramids. This takes time, and is subsequently fulfilled. Then the rest is history as they say.
    For me, I'm sure there is a huge amount of structures under the silt/sands of Egypt. They just rediscovered the Great Labyrinth south of Giza, said to be older than the pyramids of Giza. Radar also show hundreds of supposed structures under the sands. With the rising water table due to the damns these may soon be lost if we don't take the effort and time to safeguard them. But I'm sure there is such a vast amount of history buried under the sands that would make Africa stand out more than any other country. And this, in part, is why I think the "authorities" poo poo the ideas given by Graham and others. Because they are on their something big. Huge even. One that would date civilizations beyond 10,000 years and make everyone question the authorities. And we can't have that. The "authorities" are there to tell us what to think. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't know what to think. So they consider themselves godsends. But I refrain from such authoritarianism. It's a lie and hateful to suggest the Egyptians can build such structures but didn't know how to record their history. Because if you actually listen to Egyptians and their history as told to us in their many writings, they inherited the bigger stuff from their ancestors who they call 'the gods of Zeptepi' or those of the first time.
    I'm more in line to believe Egyptians and Nubians than some smug "authority" who has their own power and money to protect by selling us a LIE!
    Cheers to Nubians and Egyptians. They tried to tell us the truth, but current authorities tell us they are too dumb to know their history.

Four asteroid hits on the Great Lakes looks good so far but have to keep an open mind about fresh ideas like Land of Chem. Personally, I think there has been many civilizations that we know nothing about that have just been lost totally in time. The jungle takes over.

    Cool doc, however some badly outdated points. Like the air shaft thing is probably not agreed by many anymore and its accepted that they're there because of the astronomical angles. One thing that I find lacking with these docs usually though is that they don't look for additional support to evidence in the actual society and politics of the ancient Egyptians of the old kingdom. Religious/mythological sure but they're also linked to the people and can't have one without the other in isolation. That's one thing the Egyptologists that you so mock have already realized for actually devoting their professional life to studying this culture.

    • @daleg.9673
      @daleg.9673 8 лет назад +1

      Not much for a lot of people I agree. But Hancock does seem to be trying to make a case based on evidence. I think he means that the pyramids were built 4500 years ago by the descendants of the survivors of a civilization that was wiped out by a comet 10,500 years ago, a time when the configuration of the Gizeh pyramids matched the configuration of the stars of Orion's belt. An interesting idea, but pretty far-fetched.

    • @MoonBernie

      Because there are more indications that there was a 'lost civilization" thriving before a global disaster 11500 years ago. Thinking that everything smart ,made or build in the antiquities are made or inspired by aliens is simply shortsighted. There are clues left behind, consciously or not, find them and use them to find the truth. And dont let yourself be dragged away by your personal wishes. I'm not saying it is impossible we where visited by an alien superior race. But that doesnt mean they did everything what we cant explain right now.

    • @daleg.9673
      @daleg.9673 7 лет назад

      Belief in aliens or lost civilizations is unfounded in my opinion. We know when, why, and by whom the pyramids were built. I'm more interested in discovering what ingenious construction methods were used.
