Sam Lingard I'm pretty sure it's the same as Seoul (Incheon Airport) to Atlanta, which is 13 hours and 25 minutes. I took this plane from Seoul to Atlanta yesterday.
Yes,they are very close,I wouldn't want too be that close,but this is Korean Airlines,Delta Airlines is the Contractor in this case,they have there own Aircraft maintenance, I agree with you you can only get so close too a running engine with out getting ingested and when that happens end of story.

It's shorter Seoul-Atlanta than Atlanta-Seoul due to the jet stream. It's roughly 15 hours going but only around 13 returning.
