What a monster! Beautiful aircraft. I'm a Boeing fan but Airbus outdid themselves on this baby :) I read an article not to long ago, about cracks being detected on the wings of the A380. But still considered safe to fly. Has anybody heard about this? Any info?
great videos/ in august i took a KAL 380 from LA to Seoul - think it was a night flight. i get excited if i imagine i was flying like in one of these like this! i really wonder how they take these shots!?...amazing...i really love airplanes and the 380 looks cool to me.
I just bought the 1/200 Gemini jet model of this aircraft I'm so glad I did its so beautiful. Its sad Korean Air is retiring this aircraft before end of 2026 😢

Amazing. It's actually relaxing watching it! It has a calming effect! Hard to believe it's flow with a side stick like a cherry picker! Ugly plane all the same.
@californianights Because the load isn't just 'held' by the wings. If you, the wings are angular, not at 90 degreese to the main plane. This is to help with windflow/aerodynamics but also means that the spread of the load won't be held in the wings, but more towards the joints and the underbelly of the plane itself. Also, you have to remember that it is engineered within itself to help hold the weight and spread it evenly, eg: support beams and cross-sectional bars across the floors :)

Ya well your a typical european hating on the 737 and saying that this piece of crap is better because it only has cracks in the wings.....The 737 has been 5000x more succesful than this thing so before you go hatin on boeing get a life.....
yes, at first it would be expensive but as with almost every product it would get cheaper and cheaper (due to improved extraction techniques and/or transportation means, for example). and here we have an interplanetary economy :D
Amazing video!!! I've been in an Korean A380 before awesome to look at outside but inside does not feel like that feels like a 747 only but anyway hope you can make an amazing video of the inside too.
Funny idea! Had there been any oil on Mars and we brought it home, it would be about as expensive as filling your car car up with liquid gold or something to use refined martian oil on it! : )
Well technically, joystick (sidestick as they call it in the cockpit) technology is no more difficult to implicate to a moving machine of any size than any other control. It's just a different method of control. The same exact signals are being transferred from the joystick to the A380 as from any other larger device to a machine like that. It's just that the thing pressing on the tiny signal sender is smaller than your average control mechanism.
I'm sure this vid is not fake. The aircraft that filmed this has to be able to match the speed of the Airbus and be able to shoot the video from different angles and positions. I've seen other vids of planes in motion being filmed by other like aircraft ( like videos of The Blue Angels) and this looks very real to me, just like the aforementioned vids. Also, i'm sure the cameras use zoom for safety and for a better looking vid, so to the viewer, the planes appear to be closer than they are.
as a half french, half american guy... the Boeing 747... designed in the mid 1960's and still flying today... is the most handsome wide-body ever. The A380, MD-11, A330,Boeing's own 777 and even Lockheed Tristar... while all meritorious in their own right... and own place and time... can not hold a candle to the original jumbo jet... at least not in overall appearance. It is just a fact that anybody who appreciates design would be hard pressed to argue with.
for people that only know how to insult something that they dont seem to know what the value and history of that thing and what situations they overcome and now just say "its ugly, its pepsi, bad color, its gonna crash, well you all insulters can earn a big money try to gather all of your same species and you can have a successful company and i think you can have your "ugly" pepsi logo just like your attitude and maybe your face too. good luck wish all the best amen ;)
You clearly haven't a clue what youre talking about, I have been a photographer for many years and started with 35mm film whereby you learnt the skill of taking the perfect photo in one or two shots. People like you just blast away with annoying multishot digital, point and shoot cameras with the hope of 1 or 2 coming out any good (amateurs). I strongly suggest you check your facts before judging people and what they do. Have you ever seen my photographs?? No.
?? I am perplexed you just regurgitated my thoughts in different combination of sentence...was that an argument from your side. I agree with you 99%. The 1%, the environment a tribal person sees is equally complex and even more organic than the square streets and buildings we often immerse ourselves in, so a pHD person learns a specific narrow discipline, but I would not place a bet that means automatically they have more neuron connections...
Opinion is one thing, denial (typically from Boeing nuts) just makes you look stupid. Airlines aren't suicidal, Airbus sales year on year flies in the face of your 'opinion' of their quality. Maybe you should go 'work on' the 787's electrical and fuel leak problems. Personally I love all aircraft, the fanboy thing is just sad.
@iRyanww -- Google "Korea Air" and you'll see the logo is real. Their logo and Pepsi logo is similiar (Same colors, similar shape), but the logo has some subtle differences. There's two curves in the Korea logo, while there's one curve in the Pepsi logo. Check it out -- it's real on Korea Air's website!
well i've been on various airlines and I have to say those Arabian planes are the best by far. Korean air and Asiana airlines are quite alright but once you get on the Etihad, Fly Emirates or the Qatar Airlines, you'll hate whatever planes you get on next time.
Quite the opposite. The larger they get, the more economical they are. Larger turbofan engines are generally more efficient than smaller ones, and with more passengers to share the cost of fuel, economy per passenger is better. Both effects add up, resulting in a very economical airliner.
i think its because, it only needs the inboard ones to do the job and plus due to wing span being too large either the power would rip the wings off or tear the ground apart next to the runway....well that's what i've been told and i'm guessing the second one is the right one :P
The feeling when u r in the Sky 36000 metres above the Ground is 100 times better than riding a Ferrari in any part of the world... Its the feeling that u have been relying on a man made machine to keep u safe above those Beautiful Skies its as if ur not in this World...
Lol, .. Hard to believe that when human beings were living in a cave, we still have the same brain as now. Shows you the power of the systems/culture that has been developed in many parts of the world. A child from a forest tribe basically has all the potential of a PhD educated Astronaut.
@PangeaSpreads But , if not by the sound ( outside the plane obviously) and smoke pollution, The CONVAIR 880 was invencible. With 80 seats, it was, till nowadays the fastest subsonic commercial plane ! About 1000 Km per hour ! That project MUST be reviewed !
I dont know much about planes, I once traveled on Emirates from London to Dubai and did experience a different feeling and different type of plane. Turns out to be A380 which is really a truely flying experience !!
Yeah right 11000 metres I havent experienced A380 but hav flown few times in 777.....nd luckily did get the window seat one time with a PErfect wing view...nd the feeling is really got no wrods to be describes..
@1vdn992 actually the engines on Korean Air's aircraft are American. Nothing wrong with British engines anyway, one incident does not mean the engines are unsafe. Rolls-Royce is still one of the premier aero-enine makers.
@ukipwarrior Good luck on that... The EU union is in trouble, deep trouble. The Euro may collapse soon. Oh, and this A380 beast is starting to show cracks on the wings of several of them with 1,600 flying hours. Not good.
@HDaviator Have you been on a fully bloated 747? I did... and... not very roomy..., the passenger numbers increase and once called queen of the skies (747) can't even coupe with soaring number of passengers. :)
ya..mm..ok that is some good flyin sht on my fav list. steady hand, SUBJECT, lighting editing, you can see in detail split rudder actuation deveation wing flexations and on and on...more please
36000 feet or 11000 meters, but otherwise what you say is right on! I usually try to get a window seat so I can marvel at the sight before me outside the window. It is a wonderful feeling. :)
Airlines operating the A380 actually seem to like their "too heavy, gas guzzling" planes. Maybe because if you consider the amount of passengers it carries, it isn't "gas guzzling" at all.
@Firedreamer77 Agreed but very much improved since the 1999 incident due to a major change in training procedures and they are consequently becoming much more highly regarded.

PEPSI AIR
I remember seeing the video when I was 6 years old how nostalgic
One of the most beautiful planes mankind has ever made. What a marvel to behold!
Korean Air is hands down the best livery on the A380. Such a huge plane made to look so inviting and gentle as it hauls through the skies.
무섭게 생겼지만 실은 고래비행기
damn that is such a beautiful machine..
beautiful
Beautiful livery!
Yes
agreed
It's hard to imagine that this graceful bird weighs more than 600 tons at full takeoff capacity. Awesome video!
Amazing how modern technology can lift something that huge off of the ground.
Why is it so beautiful?? Answer me!!!!!!
+Andrew Anane The beauty has no explanation! It touches our sensibility!! Amazing A-380!!!!!
Because its look like a flying dolphin
Cause you're tipsy
MUITO LINDO, MUITO LEGAL, MUITO INTERESSANTE!!!!
PARABÉNS E, MUITO OBRIGADO!!!!
That was a good paint-job. Somehow it made the plane look sleaker and more elegant!:)
Incredible aircraft - I just hope none of them ever crash since it can carry SO many people.
The blue/grey Korean Air livery looks very smart on the A380! More so than other airlines such as Singapore.

Me encantó el video, excelente trabajo.
impresionantes maniobras de vuelo.....super pilotos
Unfortunately, that aircraft completed its last flight in 2020 when covid was severe, and is currently stored at Incheon International Airport.
Come on guys why the f**k would you compare pepsi with our country's symbol ;;
Because why hell not. And also the logo on korean air's livery looks like the pepsi logo if you think about it hard enough
I just bought the 1/200 Gemini jet model of this aircraft I'm so glad I did its so beautiful. Its sad Korean Air is retiring this aircraft before end of 2026 😢
I bet everyone inside is dancing to gangnam style
Самолёт просто суперский. Мечтаю на нём полетать!!!
i have never travelled by an airplane before believe me this is one of the finest shots!
