This game is a watered down version of SMB1, but it isn't terrible.
This is basically the game where if you can't afford SMB1, this is for you xD
don't worry about using save states some of these levels seem like hell.
The biggest problem in this version of the game for me is honestly the camera. In GCN Super Monkey Ball it can sometimes be hard to align the camera behind the monkey in certain circumstances. In this game it's nearly impossible, for me at least. This makes Expert 7's first obstacle really difficult when combined with the horrible controls in this version. Seems like they didn't test this game very well tbh.

I actually got to Expert Extra once when I was about sixteen or so. On an actual Gameboy Advance. I used warps; yes, but I still consider it one of my proudest gaming accomplishments, because I only BARELY did it. I don't know why I decided this was the game I wanted to 100%, but I somehow did it, and I totally get the use of save states from others, because it's very difficult.

i think expert 30 is the hardest stage in this game, because of the swing bridge alone
Master 5 is harder, imo.
Advanced is way easier than expert in this game because I managed to get through all the stages including the extras and not using warps and getting all the bananas for stage 10 without losing a life in this game without saving state.
Never understood why people hated Carpet so much. It was easily an advanced stage imo.
