      This is what I do ... morning: wash face, alternate vitamin c every other day ( I built up to it started out every two days) with a vitamin c derivative, very light moisturizer ( I have oily sensitive skin) then sunscreen .... midday: usually just reapply sunscreen ... evening: wash face, alternate retinoid every other day with Matrixyl 3000 started slow with the retinoids too because they are irritating, moisturizer .. I keep really simple ... most days I like to take my makeup off early evening so I wash my face apply a toner then when I go to bed I add the retinoid and moisturizer... hope this helps

    I’ve been using the Neutrogena Retinol for 4 years now and I love the results. I will continue to use it for life.
    I’m 35yo , have brown asian skin. I apply the cream only at night 3-4 times a week and just use a regular moisturizer on other nights coz my skin burns with regular use. I found that giving it some break helps my skin to adjust especially in the beginning.
    All the benefits stated in this video are true based on my experience using it. My skin glows , pores are smaller, helps with wrinkles and exfoliating dead skin too.

    I tried Neutrogena as my first retinol and after 5 months, just finished my first jar. I loved the thicker consistency, overall feel and even the smell (though it is fragrance free). My skins texture is notably smoother. I’m now trying Olay 24. It’s a much thinner consistency but I do like the feel of my skin after it’s absorbed. Aesthetically, I like the look of the Neutrogena jar as I think the purple/silver looks tacky. We’ll see the final results after I finish this jar.

    I have tried drugstore products, and Olay has never worked for my skin. L'oreal, neutrogena always more suited. The neutrogena cream is on the dry side. I usually put a layer of Hyaluronic acid, or niacinamide, or peptides depending on the seasons. I then put a layer of Neutogena on, even d eyes, i seal it with a light cream or emulsion. It was causing some flaking and redness bcoz i have combination sentitive skin. So layering with a serum as base, then a layer of Neutrogena retinol cream, a light cream on top. It is working, plus how i layer it works for me. I skip retinol on the days i use my exfoliating gel. I use it around 4 days per week. I think after this jar. I will move on to a retinol serum. Cheers from Hong Kong with crazy humid weather.

Also, in what order do l use the retinol and the sunscreen? Now l am using glycolic wash then vitamin C, then the retinol then moisturiser then sunscreen. Or does it even matter? Thanks. I liked your videos because it seemed a lot easier to understand than the others.😮. I just saw another video of yours and you said it would take it least six months until we would notice any results. @SusanJ-jt5ny Год назад

      Retinol is best at night. Too many actives at one time can lead to irritation. Glycolic acid should not be used daily. And if you do, it should be at a low strength so it doesn’t lead to irritation. Of course a wash would be low exposure but could still be too much if you have dry or sensitive skin.
      Irritation/redness can negate any benefits of the actives.

      Do you use a moisturizer? Also, minimize dry skin triggers like harsh soap and sometimes even overbathing.

      @@TOWERD1990 I ended up buying Adapalene gel from Differin. I only used it for a short period of time before my eczema flared up so my research and experimentation of retinol ended.

    Could you review ROC correxion deep wrinkle night cream? Or let me know if you think it's effective against wrinkles? Which drug store product would be your recommendation for wrinkles? Is adapalene more effective for wrinkles? Im soo lost 😞

    • @ArsalanAspires
      @ArsalanAspires  2 года назад +6

      They use the Retinol with magnesium, zinc, and copper, which some studies suggest it can support the stimulation of collagen production. So yes, it may help give you that skin firmness to fill in the gaps in wrinkles.
      I hope this helps!

    Can I use differen gel twice a week (night) and bha salycilic acid once (morning) on alternating days

    • @ArsalanAspires
      @ArsalanAspires  2 года назад +3

      Excellent question! I have heard that by alternating you may be able to mitigate the irritation. However chemical burning with multiple actives is a real concern. My recommendation is to give adapalene a steady and consistent chance before adding an alternating routine. This of course depends on how far you are with the therapy. Keep me updated!

    I am struggling to find a good product for fresh acne scars. Are any of the two products mentioned in this video good for acne scars?

  • @jdc528
    @jdc528 2 года назад +2

    What if I alternate them, one night Neutrogena, the next, Olay would that be ok?

    • @SusanJ-jt5ny
      @SusanJ-jt5ny Год назад +1

      It’s essentially the same ingredient: retinol. Every night may be too irritating unless you work up to using it that often.
      Consistency is best in skin care. Use one til you use it up. Then the next one if you are trying to figure out which one works best. If you use them both at the same time, you won’t be able to figure out which one irritates or works for you

    Just getting into this new skin care thing because alas, I have become of age. LOL
    I have avoided the sun, for the most part, use sunscreen, I do all the basic necessary things, but, I need more help. I am olive tone, Hispanic, and now that I'm older, I seem to have a gray cast (?)...not healthy looking at all.
    Going to try this retinol, and it seems I will go with Neutrogena.
