I've been trying to decide which one to go with. My skin is normal to slightly combo with a wee bit of shine in the T zone and sensitive. Anything with fragrance will break me out. I like the idea of the Retinol in the moisturizer because I like multi-tasking products. If I go with the serum I'd need to layer it with a moisturizer. Ugh. I still don't know which way to go. Currently I'm using the Neutrogena Retinol cream and I like it but all along I really wanted the Olay, my daughter got a small sample size when she purchased a bunch of Neutrogena stuff online. Once this Neutrogena is gone I'm going with the Olay for sure.
I pair the serum with the Cerave lotion, it works out since I also use the same lotion in the morning with tinted sunscreen (for my hyperpigmentation). I have such sensitive skin and Cerave is reliable.
I've used Olay products for more years than I can count. At this time, I use Olay's Regenerist micro sculpting cream (the red jar), and love it. I plan on buying Olay's Retinol 24 night cream. I will still use the red jar on times I am skipping the Retinol 24.

If my skin tolerates it I think I will get the serum as I have combination skin (and also I want to finish off using the night cream I already have) but they did not have this in a mini bottle.

I use olay retinol 24 serum, 1st day use it at night it caused my skin irritating and the next day morning my skin inflamed, I hope dr not only always emphasis the good things of the ingredients but also ingredients that may not friendly to the skin. FYI I have using other retinol brand but olay give me bad experience.

You should not mix vitamin c in the same routine as retinol, it can cause a lot of irritation

Based on my reading, retinol is not recommended to use after using active acid such as glycolic, salicylic and lactic acid..
