Great lesson! I always preferred the live version of this tune. The little lead riff Mike has at the end is killer too. Simple but beautiful how it cuts through over Ed's part.
Respect! My mom is a huge fan and this is one of her top favs, she always quotes Eddie fot whatever hardship I face in life. Love the music and the connections fans make through their love of the band, traveling to shows, or trading bootlegs🤘💜 Ps: Jack Irons is criminally underrated
Hi there Been checking your tutorials for awhile now and love them as a PJ fan who happens to play guitar 😜 May I just correct the bridge part with power chords I think it's B F C B A And after B F C B D That's how I play it at least What do you think ? Cheers from France
Personally i only hear the D at the end of that phrase and if you check this out - i don't see/hear any variation from the B F C B D - ruclips.net/video/JrWdpVLXIkc/видео.html
Tabs from 1998 say there's an A after first part, D after second. After watching four live videos including the one you've linked, at the end of each bridge unit Ed holds the same chord - D on 5th fret, barred with ring finger on 7th In this video ruclips.net/video/nUy8a8RSV6g/видео.html there's a nice view of Stone playing acoustic and he ends with D everytime, at 2:14 And now I'm off to take my OCD meds
Thanks Matt. What is Stone doing during the verses? Watching the video of this song from Live at the Garden, it looks and sounds like maybe he is playing the same part as Ed during the verses except on an acoustic. Curious what your thoughts are.
Martin Steiger hey Martin! Yes I agree with you, hard to see what he’s doing but he’s either dropping out or doubling Ed’s part in the verse I reckon 🤘😀

Unless there’s some sort of yanny laurel thing going on I can only hear a D.
