It’s like Phil Collins is teaching me Pearl Jam tunes!!!! Great Job!!!! Keep up the instructional vids. You definitely help terrible guitar players, like me, learn my favorite songs.
Single version of this song is one of my favourite from Pearl Jam. Heard it couple of times live, but stuido version with the feedback from the amps... gives me shivers all the time! :)
haha Ed's riffs are always cracking good fun. that first riff is hard to stop playing once you start, as you can tell from me playing it once too many!
No problem Michael! Well, I'd recommend the middle pickup position, then you're going to need a bit of overdrive. If the sound it too muddy, then roll back on the volume on your guitar to clean it up. If you have a tube amp, then set it just on the edge of "breaking up", ie when you play hard you get a teeeny teeny bit of overdrive, and then you can use a boost pedal, or overdrive pedal set with a low amount of gain and that will push the amp nicely into Eddie's "mild dirt" territory. Generally less is more with OD for his sound, it's quite a clean, articulate sound. Hope that helps!
Ahh awesome one Matt thanks!! Those little extra notes in the chorus made it so nice 10 9 (Although I think you had a typo on your tabs for the intro riff you are playing 11 but you typed 10 there 😊) -> oh shit just read the comments, already pointed out, sorry 🤓 10 9
Clayton Hough well I’m planning to get to them all eventually 😊 I only have time to do one vid a week as they take hours to record, edit, work out etc so come join us over at Patreon if you want to get involved in voting for content on the channel 🤘😊🤘www.patreon.com/letsplayall
dude has a way better ear than me. I'm practially tone deff, but that second shape 0-9-10-9 in the intro just doen't soudn right to me on the accoustic. its driving me crazy.
Shawn Medeiros yup my bad! I’d corrected the tab for download by my Patreon’s but unfortunately no way to edit once the vid has gone live! Just follow what I’m playing in that built and ignore my “spelling mistake” in the tab. I spend ages double checking details like this but this one slipped through the net!
Yea i didn't tab out every nook and cranny for this one! I did the main rhythm for the intro, then the chords and some of the rhythmic parts won't match exactly what i'm playing as i've discovered, much like Eddie I don't play it the same way twice....ever :-)
Christopher Gunn ah in that case my apologies! Unfortunately you can’t edit these vids once they’re up there!! I’ll amend the tab over at Patreon and lock myself under the stairs for an hour or so this evening as punishment 🤘😀🤘
@@LetsPlayAll Just came to post the exact thing. I was playing it on the 9th and it sounded so wrong. moved to 10th. perfect. Thanks for the vids btw. really great
@@steveas haha just checking your ears are working. you have all passed :-) (sorry about the error, am pretty thorough but things slip through the net sometimes!)

Just another day in paradise amigo 😀🤘
Love this song. I especially like the bit of feedback he has just because it makes it seem so organic and real
I have had this song stuck in my head for days now. Thanks to your video, I learned it in 15 minutes. Thanks for the tutorial!!!
Glad I could help!

Yes it’s pretty menacing! It’s always been my favorite, it’s really unlike any of their other songs.
This intro in loop is my phone's ringtone!
Thank you so much, I finally learned this beautiful song
You’re welcome!
Lovely color on that guitar! Sounds nice too.
lesson is awesome
guitar colorway is the coolest looking telecaster of all time
thank you 🎸⚡️🫵🏼
Love this song
This is awesome - thanks! My next request would be “parting ways” (eddies part).....thanks for considering
Fantastic, love this song, back in the Merkinball Neil young days of Pearl Jam, with some raw uncompressed and not overly EQ'd Jake Irons drums
Matt my man! Thx for the lesson!
But I'm waiting for the solo part!!! Could you please do a lesson on it???
TheGrungeYears will get there eventually but if you want something specific come join us at www.patreon.com/letsplayall 🤘😀🤘

haha Ed's riffs are always cracking good fun. that first riff is hard to stop playing once you start, as you can tell from me playing it once too many!
Thank you so much! Awesome work!
So much teenage angst in this song, so good!
Chris S it’s a beaut isn’t it, love the lyrics in this one
Love this song, thanks so much for this. Any recommendations for amp and effects to get that tone with my Tele?

I think you should do a video for Neil Young’s parts 😀
markstrugnell haha possibly! 😉
Hey Matt, what's ed playing for the rhythm behind the solos in the song? is it just the intro progression with more beef?
Hiya, yes indeed, the intro/verse riff but with more attitude!
Good work fella
Cheers Kevin!
Solid as always 👌🏻
Cheers buddy!

I believe the tab is wrong on the intro part
My eyes are too poor to make out the finger pattern you’re playing (the tabs don’t really line up well for me) but it sounds good.
dude has a way better ear than me. I'm practially tone deff, but that second shape 0-9-10-9 in the intro just doen't soudn right to me on the accoustic. its driving me crazy.
maybe jeff, mike or stone is doing something over it that is making it sound strange to me. Just feel like its missing something
so the second shape is 0-10-11-10 or 12-10-11-10. He just typed it wrong on the tab. He is obviosly playing the righ thing.
Shawn Medeiros yup my bad! I’d corrected the tab for download by my Patreon’s but unfortunately no way to edit once the vid has gone live! I was just about to comment about this. I cant see hos fingers very well on my phone but i figured it out by noodling around till it sounded right
The i.d is actually Id. It's a real word in the English dictionary..👊 btw👏👏👏👏🌟
Yea cheers i'd (haha id ;-)) already changed the title as i hadn't realised it was Id of the mind rather than ID ;-)
Id not ID
thank you sir! corrected :)
I think the TAB is a bit off
Yea i didn't tab out every nook and cranny for this one! I did the main rhythm for the intro, then the chords and some of the rhythmic parts won't match exactly what i'm playing as i've discovered, much like Eddie I don't play it the same way twice....ever :-)
Let's Play All I think he means the D shape you are playing at the 10th fret is tabbed at the 9th
