I agree. Nostalgia sells. Or so they like to think. Hollywood just wants to cash in the check.

The main reason a film needs to make twice it's budget in box office receipts to break even is that the studios don't keep it all. About half goes to the distributors and exhibitors.

I like it when they/them make a reboot of a reboot and do not even seem to know it, Writing a reboot must be like being in 'film school' hoping for a good grade, and AND... can stop with the fucking origin after origin story especially when it is a charterer that has been around longer then the people watching it...

There is a great reboot for every bad reboot. Sometimes you gotta take the good with the bad and not throw it all out together.

Remakes are nothing new. What I think you(and me) don’t like is shameless IP cash grabs. Some down right classics were remakes. Ben-Hur itself was a remake of a silent movie from 1929. TheMalteaseFalcon, TheFly, Heat, Scarface, TheThing. A Star Is Born has been remade four times & nobody seems to get tired of it😊 Most people(not me) prefer the 2004 version of Dawn Of The Dead🤷🏽‍♂️ What about Americanised remakes of foreign films like Magnificent Seven, Fatal Attraction, Scent Of A Woman, The Departed etc
