There was a team of speedrunners that did a charity event where they did all the L4D2 achievements in one stream, and they actually got Valve to help them out with being able to get one that's impossible, which is to play through a full campaign with a new player on a free weekend (Valve made the game free for the weekend when they held their stream). They also enlisted the help of the people from the Gold Miners discord to do gold medals on all the survival maps. You should check out the video about it's it's an amazing event they put together. it's weird how Dark Carnival only give you bile bomb during the motel section, so one of the team have to hold on for that bile bomb to make the chapter 4 gaunlet easy
I will NEVER forget when I completed Dark Carnival on expert, and my friend who I did it with was shouting "YES! YES! YES! YES!" in the mic, relieved to never have to touch that achievement evet again 😂
You should try it's pc achievements if you want to add a nice layer of suffering ontop of this. 43 survival maps, all must be survived for 10 mins. survive a map for 30 minutes, and a few skill check achievements were added. Not impossible, only a little hard, but man they can drain you if you struggle with survival mode
I honestly love your vids man and not even just for the nostalgia factor. Something about the way you narrate makes what you're going through seem very relatable (dispite never actually having gone and done the stuff myself) and your videos are just genuinely relaxing. Keep it up man
The Parish Chapter 4 grind is real. Dark Carnival is ridiculous because of the one part but nothing compared to getting Still Something To Prove. It was such a grind I simply wanted my friend to get it. When and if I died I told him to go on without me. 😰 And we did this offline with two bots, (An achievement in of itself).

i remember me and my friends first completed campaign was swamp fever, that was pretty miserable for a first experience. Didnt really realize what map we were on until we tried it again after our 4 month hiatus, now i know why we didnt play this game for 4 months.

I just watched the first video, and watched this one and I am absolutely love how you managed to pull this off. I have 100% achievements on both L4D1 and L4D2 in steam, and I feel your pain. But still, these two games are my favourites. But honestly I prefer Left 4 Dead 1 more. Amazing job my guy. Just imagine if valve teased a photo of a zombie hand holding up 3 fingers. 2 for the pink, 1 for the stink. The internet would break. I truly feel like these games are pretty simple at the core, but man are they fun. Everyone wants to revolutionize a game when in reality, THIS would suffice.
I'm very lucky that a lot of my closest friends are willing to sacrifice their time and sanity to help me with various achievement/gaming grinds yes. Trueachievements is a great place to find partners though I would say!

Ah, memories. I remember back in the day when the Mutation mode released and activated a new mode weekly. I waited 5 weeks for the melee variant so I could get that tank kill achievement.
I recently played a online match on xbox and some modder gave me all the achievements at once and the achievements were popping for like 5 mins straight. '2 types of people in this world' 😂.

Ah. Makes me wish I played on Xbox and I would have helped. I've played through all the campaigns numerous times on expert. Its by far my favorite. Once you start learning the strategies, expert becomes so much more fun.
I love l4d2 achievements cuz most of them are too challenging, i love complete them without any help,bug or cheat because doing them while playing in a game is much interesting... For example "HEARTWARMER" took me 8 years to complete......
I got the Expert achievement by playing Mutations, since I don't have friends. I did Dead Center with Gib Fest, which gives you infinite ammo M60s, and the rest with Last Man on Earth, where you play on your own but there are no Commons, just Specials. I personally don't consider it cheesing 'cause it was still challenging as hell, especially Hard Rain. Edit: Wrote this early, turns out you talk about this later in the vid XD
One of the best games of all time. I played this game so much on the 360 i got every achievement, except the ones involving expert mode and online versus. Had no xbox live back then, all those hours were logged offline. That's how solid the game is.
@@joakimberg7897 yea, and it was split vertically by default for some reason, most games at the time were horizontal. It still holds up to this day. There's nothing quite like getting 4 friends, 2 xboxs, some beers and some l4d2 going.
@@joakimberg7897 we personally used Xbox live, but we were all in the same house. There is a way to set up System Link if you have two xboxs, and I don't think it requires an internet connection or xbox live. I've never used the System Link function though, so I don't know how to set it up.
I remember when i would sneak and would play this at night as a kid and then leave 10 minutes later after i hear 1 jockey laughing or a hunters low growl
I also forget that dead center is 4 not 5 parts too and i think its because the first 3 parts are all pretty long AND part 2 has a safepoint-like part in the middle with the gun store.
this was an awesome video, tbh they should at least add another game mode like a game mode idea I had when I first played Left 4 Dead 2 called Race, the gimmick is you have to race through an entire campaign, each chapter you have a certain amount of time to get to the next safe room and the person who would place first would get 10 points, 2nd 7 points, 3rd 5 points, and 4th 3 points, and whoever had the most points at the last chapter would win the game
Melee weapons are the reason I didnt have a problem with Dark Carnival when I beat it on Expert with bots. Took a day or two I think but I did it. Or it took 2 hours, I cant remember. But yeah melee weapons are king in L4D2
One thing, 4:45 Dark Carnival isnt "Chronologically" next; The Passing is, since you still have the Jimmy Gibbs stock car as an escape from that mission. Now it *is* a part of the base game, while The Passing / Cold Stream came after as a sort of DLC

Back in 2013, I had around 40 achievements, and then one day I joined a campaign game, which had a modder in it. The second I loaded in the rest of my achievements popped instantly. I also had this happen in Saints Row 1's multiplayer.
Bridge over trebled slaughter: Only 1 survivor needs to cross for the whole lobby to earn it. Wing and a prayer: Desired player takes window seat and crouched / healing aisle seat survivor defending desired player. Sometimes all in lobby earn it regardless of damage recieved. Both confirmed OG L4D2 X360.
Loving this game so far :> playing with my boyfriend and im not very good at shooters so a few campaigns (admittedly switched onto easy a few campaigns in since the amusement park was a bit too hard for me lol) As someone who has always hated shooters and usually only play animal crossing and stardew, im finding this game so refreshing and pretty easy to learn. Who knows maybe this will be my introduction to more intense games
I dont know if this achievement is ACTUALLY good or if he was just surprised i could aim at all but he was very proud of me gettinf 'get skeeted on' during our first play session
The carnival last stage you can just stay on top of the tower and block the ladder the zombie die instantly hitting your feet and all you need to do is kill the special infected, and there always 1 bile around the safe room
Dark Carnival is my least favourite map, but I did get Guardin' Gnome (Rescue Gnome Chompski from the Carnival) achievement, which I would never, never, NEVER do again.
Me and my brother did this back in the summer of 2011. It, and also a few othet games, was some of the best bonding er ever did. I still remember walking from my house, like 3 blocks away, with 2 liters and doritos in my backpack, ready to not sleep for 2 whole days so we could marathon as many of these achievements as we could. I miss that son of a bitch every single day.
poor guy, no one told him he had to carry a bile from c1 to c4 in dark carnival to pass the endless hoard gate panic event easier. All that suffering😭😭

if you want to easily beat the crescendo event at Map 4 of Dark Carnival, just grab an auto-shotgun, sharp melee; Axe, Katana, and Machete will do you best, pipe bomb, and adrenaline, gather 2 gasolines on the way; this will clear out the horde for you, put one at the stairs and the other one in front of the two bathroom stalls, shoot it when the horde sets foot to the zone of the gas, once gate has opened, get half-way and use the pipe bomb then use the adrenaline, then just chop your way into the saferoom, if you only have the pipe bomb, chop half-way, and throw the pipe bomb, get your shotty out and clear the upcoming ones, easy as that
One time I joined a random blood harvest survival map and suddenly I got the good guy nick achievement and the ghost of Christmas present achievement????? 🤯🤯🤯
Strength in numbers and beating all the campaigns on expert were the only two achievements I could never get back in the day I tried so hard for strength in numbers and it never worked
I got all the achievements except for the glitched pvp crash coarse achievements in the first game . And the strength in numbers achievement because it requires 7 people in the 2nd game
play on hard rain on expert was... an experience, me and my friend were trying to get the still something to prove achievement (where you have to do all the og l4d2 campaigns on expert,besides the passing) OH MY GOD IT WAS HELL!! all the campaign ls were a cake walk COMPARED TO HARD RAIN, im pretty sure we died atleast 250+ times on the sugar mill and yesterday we finally got it :D (forgot to mention my friend had a max of 15fps, oh and dark carnival was the easiest map LMAO)
You can kill a witch instantly with a shotgun if you go up against her and shoot her point blank before the message of her attacking you pops up, you had so many runs that you just threw away man
I can't believe we never got a Left for Dead 3 because people complained about there being sequels too quickly. If I am wrong about this, tell me, but im pretty sure why there is no 3rd game for some series they made.

there a bile bomb in the building after the safe room before the concert. it’s either by the bathroom or the entrance to the stage
Sometimes we get blessed and get two bile spawns in the motel for the coaster and the gates, but if it's on pubs they end up using them immediately.
It's also not guaranteed. There's a 24% chance that you don't get a bile in map 1, and a 2.25% chance that you get 4.
I did it without the bile bomb once, took me 3 days

if you want to easily beat the crescendo event at Map 4 of Dark Carnival, just grab an auto-shotgun, sharp melee; Axe, Katana, and Machete will do you best, pipe bomb, and adrenaline, gather 2 gasolines on the way; this will clear out the horde for you, put one at the stairs and the other one in front of the two bathroom stalls, shoot it when the horde sets foot to the zone of the gas, once gate has opened, get half-way and use the pipe bomb then use the adrenaline, then just chop your way into the saferoom, if you only have the pipe bomb, chop half-way, and throw the pipe bomb, get your shotty out and clear the upcoming ones, easy as that

Strength in numbers and beating all the campaigns on expert were the only two achievements I could never get back in the day I tried so hard for strength in numbers and it never worked
I got all the achievements except for the glitched pvp crash coarse achievements in the first game . And the strength in numbers achievement because it requires 7 people in the 2nd game
For anyone doing this do the whole chapter on easy then expert so you know where to go especially if it’s after along time without playing.

play on hard rain on expert was... an experience, me and my friend were trying to get the still something to prove achievement (where you have to do all the og l4d2 campaigns on expert,besides the passing) OH MY GOD IT WAS HELL!! all the campaign ls were a cake walk COMPARED TO HARD RAIN, im pretty sure we died atleast 250+ times on the sugar mill and yesterday we finally got it :D (forgot to mention my friend had a max of 15fps, oh and dark carnival was the easiest map LMAO)

My cousin wanted to run l4d2 on expert, our tactic was to corner ourselves and use pipe bombs and molle's to fend off the hordes.
l4d2 was the first game I ever got all the achievements for a game unlocked
There’s many glitches for to do that when you cannot get hit
L4D2 Versus is the best online zombie mode ever.
