  • DAN ARTUSO - pedal steel guitar. ME - whatever was left.....so far.
    Lyric below:
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja play that twelve string?
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja stand there tall and thin?
Give me some Rea, and Lee, and Langhorne and a strong melodic line
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja do that one more time?
Well there’s a lot that sound like ya but they never come near
Over the past sixty-two or three or four or five years
You showed us how it’s done it means as much today as then
Don’t you think it’s time you showed us once again?
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja play that twelve string?
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja stand there tall and thin?
Give me some Shea, and Haynes, and Stockfish
    And a strong melodic line
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja do that one more time
I wanna thank you for the music and the words and melodies
About romance of the lakes and the railroad history
You helped to keep us all connected and in the very end
    So proud to be Canadian
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja play that twelve string?
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja stand there tall and thin?
Give me Clements, Keane, Heffernan, and Pee Wee Charles
    And a strong melodic line
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja do that one more time?
    SOLO
    CHORUS OUT
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja play that twelve string?
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja stand there tall and thin?
Give me a lyric worth remem’bring with a strong melodic line
Hey Mr. Lightfoot wouldja do that one more time?

In 1969 my brother and his future wife took me to see Da Guy at Camp Fortune. I was, like, 14. Two Shure column speakers. John Stockfish and Red Shea. Da Guy came out with the B45-12 and started doing FACE OF A THOUSAND PEOPLE and quit two or three verses in because he had no monitors. I wanted nothing but 12 strings ever again.
