Medium gauge D'Addario phosphor bronze tuned down a tone so as not to bugger the neck with tension. It can only take light strings at pitch but the mediums make it throatier.....if that's a word.

@@kathrynbriggs-and-terrytufts Oh cool, I do the same with a 1927 Weymann (tune down two ). Right now I have on it Ernie Ball "Earthwood - 80/20 Bronze Silk & Steel." for the reason you mention : to reduce stress on an aged neck. We plan on getting it a rehab for its hundredth birthday! :-)

In 1969 my brother and his future wife took me to see Da Guy at Camp Fortune. I was, like, 14. Two Shure column speakers. John Stockfish and Red Shea. Da Guy came out with the B45-12 and started doing FACE OF A THOUSAND PEOPLE and quit two or three verses in because he had no monitors. I wanted nothing but 12 strings ever again.

of course! I’ve had it refretted and the 5 way switch started to crap out so I had Ring put it back to original wiring a few years back. It’s still as snappy as ever it was.

Yeah, it was acoustic recorded on the camera mic. The guitar has three systems in it - the de Armond for an echo unit, a mic David Wren sold me for a Martin I sadly let go, and an iBeam under the bridge. They sound great together but the guitar is great on it's own. Three quarter inch inputs - no waiting. Thanks for the kind words, Ian.

Nope. I use the pickup separately through an echo unit (a la John Martyn). This was just using the camera microphone. Thanks for the kind words.
