    Very good explanations!!! I would recommend Davinci Resolve though, perhaps the best color grading tool, 100% free, needs no plugin, and it is reasonable user friendly.

    woah!! ✊✊ now that is wicked tutorial. short snd straight to the point! thanks ben for listening and creating this tutorial 🙋🏻‍♂️. pinacle is kinda pricey for me due to the malaysia currency. will research alternatives. but that isolation of colors is unheard off. wow.coffee in my hand and straight to fcp to practice. i always do immediately after ur videos. its what makes those lesson sticks. those videos from lighthing to smartphone settings has improved my videos. thanks ben for teaching. those subscribers are bumping up nicely. u deserve it.

    YES! was waiting on these for a long time! thank you! wouldve loved a further breakdown on the lut stage (instead of just adding it). by the way im always stunned by how sharp and clean your footage looks like (esp on your face) and i keep wondering which part of the process makes that happen.

    How can I use this for Adobe Premiere? It's what I have access to and started learning last week. Thank you so much for your videos. Your free course on videography helped me switch my camera to manual and started recording.

      I’m not sure if color finale works with it but I think there is a program or built in option called lumetri color

    How did you do that slide effect with the color comparisons? That was sick!

      I stack two clips on top of each other, the top one is without color the bottom is colored. Then I key frame the crop of the clip, using the left side slider. I animate the top clip to essentially crop itself out revealing the bottom clip. I can do a tutorial on it in the future!

    How do you know where the mid-tones are on the spectrum? I heard you mention that you were trying to keep them in the middle, but I don’t know where they are.

      They are in the middle. As you adjust the mid tones it shifts everything that’s in the middle up or down. They are harder to spot, not as clear as the shadow and highlight

    I've just heard that people (some or most, i don't know) shoot flat or s-log or any picture profile and adjust exposure compensation in the camera settings according to the specific profile they chose. I thought the whole point was to apply correction in the editing process.
    Do we have to compensate exposure in the camera when shooting flat?

      In this video I set my white balance to 4600k because my key light was also set to 4600k and it was the light primarily lighting me

    Do you have to throw a LUT on before you started correcting to go from log space to Rec.709?

      You don’t have to, but it’s recommended and makes the step much easier and less time consuming

      Not sure where you can get free ones, but you can check other youtubers websites like Peter McKinnon, Chris hau, matti haapoija, they usually sell them pretty affordable

      I believe premiere pro’s color
      Program is called lumetri color, it would be a similar strategy of correcting, adding a LUT, and fine tuning

      Most editing softwares have built in coloring options. For Final Cut Pro hit command 6

    Hello to the master of lighting and color ... dear master ... one request please even if get a good color grading ( which is not yet easily available for me on resolve 17 : ) if I send what I got with da Vinci resolve to RUclips it will change again the color ( RUclips will change slightly or not the color and expo ) so do you have a hack for this ? or do you hand made different version for RUclips and chose the best out of 10 ? ps : I already have a change of color between davinci resolve and quick player on my Mac m1 Thanks for you reply if any otherwise stay creative bro ; )

      Unfortunately I don’t have much knowledge of davinci, it may have something to do with your export settings or your display monitor if you are watching on different devices etc. I’d check monitor calibration
