Great video yet again Ben! I tried to colour grade the other day with my RGB light in the background and without knowing about this it was such a pain. Will download this trial and give it a try, thank you again!!
Yes! I’ve been waiting for you to make a video about color grading! Thanks man! P.S. - Where did you get that shirt. Looks nice. Love the meaning of the words on it also.
Thank's for sharing this, want to say that I freaking love your videos, this is the level I aspire to bring my content to, but I still have a lot to learn. Thanks for sharing all this knowledge. Cannot wait for part 2 of your RUclips workflow :)). Take care mate and see you around!
YES! was waiting on these for a long time! thank you! wouldve loved a further breakdown on the lut stage (instead of just adding it). by the way im always stunned by how sharp and clean your footage looks like (esp on your face) and i keep wondering which part of the process makes that happen.
How can I use this for Adobe Premiere? It's what I have access to and started learning last week. Thank you so much for your videos. Your free course on videography helped me switch my camera to manual and started recording.
I stack two clips on top of each other, the top one is without color the bottom is colored. Then I key frame the crop of the clip, using the left side slider. I animate the top clip to essentially crop itself out revealing the bottom clip. I can do a tutorial on it in the future!
How do you know where the mid-tones are on the spectrum? I heard you mention that you were trying to keep them in the middle, but I don’t know where they are.
They are in the middle. As you adjust the mid tones it shifts everything that’s in the middle up or down. They are harder to spot, not as clear as the shadow and highlight

I've just heard that people (some or most, i don't know) shoot flat or s-log or any picture profile and adjust exposure compensation in the camera settings according to the specific profile they chose. I thought the whole point was to apply correction in the editing process. Do we have to compensate exposure in the camera when shooting flat?
@@benjohnsoncreative If i may, here is the video that really put the emphasis on it (i have the sony zv1, that's why i'm interested) : ruclips.net/video/TgFEOBhvvK8/видео.html The way i understand it, it's like a color correction but before editing.
Do you have a video on your favorite plug ins to help with making videos more interesting?
