Well. Medvedev is already 27 on his way to 28 and he has only won one slam in his career and has a losing h2h against Alcaraz, Nadal, Djokovic, etc. He has been world number 1 for just 16 weeks while Carlos has been for 36 already. So in essence he hasn’t accomplished half of what Alcaraz has and Carlos is just 20. We’ll see if he wins a second slam and defeats Djoko like he once did in 2021 but this time might be tougher.

This notion that whenever a player wins that they've put the other player in their place or that they taught the other player a lesson, is getting pretty old and tiresome. Nobody put anybody in their place nor did they teach any lessons. The better player won on that given day and that's the end of it. It is quite disrespectful to say such things of the pro players. All of them put a lot of effort and work their tails off to be in these late stages of grand slams. Just respect all players for showing up and being there.

That's Medvedev style. Any kind of adjustments concerning that second serve makes him worse. He hits his second serve most times as hard as the first. He does it occasionally. If u check his second serve statistics, all below 100km, he lost almost all of the points cos they r weak as ****. Djokovic may be GOAT, Nadal the greatest fighter, Federer the most sublime and Alcaraz the greatest talent... but Danil Medvedev has to be in contention for the most cerebral player ever.
After that humiliating defeat at IW at the hands of Alcaraz. And the embarrassing defeat at the hands of Rafa in the AO final, probably playing in his mind...Meddy did his homework.
Using his frankly limited repertoire of shots, he was able to execute, perfectly, his plan and basically stifle Alcaraz.
It's one thing having a watertight plan against a beast like Carlos Alcaraz. But executing it flawlessly, with the finite tools available, is pure genius. Medvedev is the giant killer and a cerebral mastermind.

Alcaraz thinking he’s unbeatable, Shelton being arrogant :)

Right on. I am so glad arrogant and noisy shelton was silenced. Seems like Alcaraz is a nice guy on and off court but he's too noisy too so I am glad he also got humbled.

After a devastating loss like this, especially when you were considered the outright favorite... players, male and female alike, storm out of the court with their head down. Most sulking and others are cursing.
Carlos Alcaraz is built differently. He had the humbleness to high-five all the fans who had their hands extended out near the exit. Shows you that he doesn't take the defeat too personally. He will bounce back soon enough.

This is a lesson for all juniors out there. Junior tennis is more toxic than media believe it or not and medvedev should be role model to all underdogs out there. Keep on fighting. So proud of meddy to school NY crowds.
