Absolutely beautiful you did a great job of explaining what you were doing and that color looks fantastic
Thank you!
You should get a RUclips award for actually answering the questions!! That’s my pet peeve is to have someone do a video and never go back for their followers!!! Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful as it gets!!! The blending is perfection- you did a great job :) and the best form of explaining ways to get each form of outcome. Thank you!!
Such a beautiful result! I love the ribbons of blonde throughout and that BLEND. Would love to see more naturally dark/brunette transformations xoxo
Will do! I do so many blondes, so when I get the chance to do dark. I always try to record it! ♥️
Your awesome! Great job!
Love it! I want my hair like this.
New follower here! I absolutely loved the outcome and loved her reaction😊
Hi Kristi another absolute fabulous tutorial I Loved it and what a fabulous reaction you got from your client lovely to hear😊 and it was most definitely worth the "300" bowls of bleach you had to use 😉🤣 for such a great end result! I used your Zig Zag back combing technique on a lady today and have to say I was Delighted with end result so thank you so much for that 👍 it was seamless and I too got a very nice reaction so all down to you 😘 enjoy your well deserved day off and can't wait for your " big reveal " 😉🤔😊 stay well and thanks Kristi X
Oh that makes me so happy to hear! Learning new tricks is crucial in our industry and I even love hearing tips from you guys too!
I think im going to do a video explaining my business plan and ideas I have. I had a let down this week but finally decided that im going to give myself a year to get everything in order and move forward from there.
BUT! The reason why I started a RUclips channel in the first place has everything to do with my 2 -5 year plan.... so hopefully soon I can share with you all and work on making it a reality! Thank you always for being so supportive!
Something new to learn everytime I watch your videos. Love from Melbourne 💞💞
That makes me so glad, thank you for watching!
I wish she could come to my Lil town in Oklahoma and do MY hair!!!! SO AWESOME and professional. Guess I'm gonna go DIY mess my hair up now bc I'm noway near this professional lol. Here I go! Thanks for the great video. Very informative, easy to understand, well spoken and nicely done. Some videos r so awful! And just done BADLY! AT least this woman's voice is nice to listen to, using Good diction and instruction with a naturally pleasant accent as well. Not that anyone can help the last part but man it makes a huge difference when ur trying to understand something IMPORTANT ESPECIALLY when it's something so time consuming! Thanks wish me luck! I'm gonna need it! Lol
I absolutely love this Kristi! Bravo you!!
Thank you so much!
Excellent technique! I'm going to try this on my clients but just in the opposite way with starting at the back first
Oh yay! Good much I hope it turns out great!
You have achieved amazing lift with that dark hair! Well done!! What volume peroxide did you use with the toner? Amazing that the toner did not make the virgin hair a warm tone.
Great video Kristi
Thank you!
So Beautiful!! Well Done!
Beautiful!!!
Stunning
Thank you!
OBSESSED
Awesome thanks!❤
Great job!!! You Rock! Beautiful! 🙏❤️
Amaizing
Kristi, you're definitely my favorite.
Awww! Thank you so much!
the best explanation
Hey doll, Is the Paul Michell brand good for Asian hair ? Just curious as is why you used all violet purple tones for the toner and not the ash ? … did u mix all four together ? Or applied the 8 lvl near the roots and 10 near the ends .
Thanks xx
Hello! I mixed all those together.... I used mostly the level 10/9 levels to keep hair hair as light as possible and just a dash of the level 8 to help tone down any darker brassy areas there might be. I used 1/2 Pa - 1/2 V tones to eliminate the yellow and darker brass where the 8 sits. I like using Pa vs A cause it softens the tone a little. I think if you get the hair light enough, this line is great for any type of hair however I don't think it does well with cooling down level 7-8 ash tones. (When I use it anyways....) it's too translucent. That's why I like using schwarzkopf for brassier levels.
Love! Thanks for the video ❤️
Of course!
Gorgeous!!!!!!
Thank you so much!
Love your work! This was beautiful! I wish I could have seen the results of the back of her hair as well. I cant waut to try this! How long did you take for this service? Thank you fir all of your videos. You are awesome!
Thank you so much! I usually show a lot in my Instagram stories, or posts. It’s hard to show pictures on RUclips cause unless you crop the picture really small it doesn’t allow to show the picture in whole, it kind of scrolls from top to bottom. This took I think almost 3-4 hours? Thank you for watching!
Looks great!
I see that you reapplied at 45 mins but
What was the total processing time and how many reapplications of bleach did you do?
Thank you! I just reapplied the one time and then let that sit for about 15/20 minutes roughly
@@hairbykristijennings6648 Thanks!
Of course!
Thanks for your reply , if I was getting to a level 7/8 which shades would u recommend in the Schwarzkopf ♥️
Beautiful end result!! Do you find Paul Mitchell is similar to shades eq gloss?
I'm trying to find good toner brands to combat brassier level 7 and 8s. Something more opaque I guess. Any recommendations?
Oh yeah! I really think Schwarzkopf igora vibrance does amazing at covering warmth!
@@hairbykristijennings6648 thank you! I'll try it out 😀
This is GORGEOUS! I can tell your an amazing stylist!!! How much would you charge for this kind of service? Just curious! I am about an hour from Mt. Vernon
Thank you! If we did just a partial, $150 and full starting at $200.....
@@hairbykristijennings6648 can you please send me a link or your info so I can try to get scheduled with you?
😍😍😍 love this! I must try it!.. quick question : so her before look had her natural with half way down old color, what did you do with the bottom part? How did you get rid of it? Or did the toner tone it a little?
Her hair was natural, so either that was the lighting making it look lighter, or just naturally from the sun. I didn't put anything on that part of her hair.
I tried your technique today.... I loved doing it..... my question is....do you find that at the top of the blonde, where you feather it up, do you get any golden pieces? I did it on colored hair.... so it was harder to lift, and at the top of the foils were a little gold and the rest of the strands were a nice yellow that I was able to tone very nicely. How do I avoid the gold??
Yes, I feel like it's impossible to avoid and should be explained with all clients that balayage, of any kind, creates warm tones in that transitional area. It's cause we softly feather up into that area so it's hard to get full saturation right there and lay the bleach on thick to where it lightens past the warm tones. Always always make sure to explain that to your clients, let them know that if they hate warmth, you can always go over that area with a root shadow to blend away the warmth. CHARGE FOR IT. Especially if someone has dye on their hair, let them know to expect brassiness and that hopefully we can lift pass it.
So I have dark hair like her should I not do a shadow root then? It's not necessary? Or is it only if I do a lot of highlights or if I mess up? I ordered blondme and their T- steel blue and T icy toners.. and 7 developer.. I was thinking of mixing both? What are your thoughts on those toners?
What did you put on the roots to make the foils there blend so nicely? I mean they look so soft and not harsh and stripey
I didn't do a root shadow or anything. It blends nicely from back combing the hair.
Also feathering @1”-1”,1/2 before getting to the teased part ❤️❤️
Hi kristy! My name! I loves this video so much. But I was wondering what color toner should I add to make it more ashy looking? I would really appreciate it if you can text me back. Again thank you so much for Sharing your technic
How do you feel about up to 7 by Schwarzkopf? Ive used it on thick dark brown and got a lovely lift . Would u use it for a short amount of time on someone with finer but wavy hair?
Also, do you think this technique would work on shoulder length hair well?
I haven't used that but I'm sure it would be just as great, possibly not as strong a bleach? I think this technique would work good on curly hair. Id just think that curly hair, especially fine curly hair tends to mesh together alot. Maybe do larger sections even to make sure that the highlights dont get lost in the curl
is there a way to go about sectioning this? not sure i feel comfortable enough without sections 😭
Is this a full head or partial
You are so amazing 😍
OMG! YOU ARE REALLY GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO....
I KNOW YOUR IN WASHINGTON STATE, BECAUSE I ASKED BEFORE...BUT WHICH TOWN? - IM READY TO BOOK A FLIGHT TO HAVE YOU DO MY HAIR 😀....IVE BEEN LETTING IT GROW OUT IM A LEVEL 5 ...THIS IS HOW ID LIKE YOU TO DO MY HAIR...MY TONER WOULD BE DIFFERENT ...BUT I LIKE THE HIGH CONTRAST ....THIS HEAD YOU DID WAS GREAT!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Oh thank you! Im in Mt. Vernon. About an hour North of Seattle.... how far away are you?
@@hairbykristijennings6648 I'm in Florida, ( No worries I'm a home body, before covid / locks downs...im in good heath) I flew into Seattle last year, on my way to Oregon and said to myself I need to come back to Washington to explore ( I've been there before, only Spokane)....I' ve gotta come around the end of the month are you available Wednesday 26th August? ( You hear more local news, are they still roiting there in Seattle? )
I just checked and im booked that day...
However, I do have days marked out that week that I can come in....
Mon August 24
Thur August 27
Im totally available those days.
Im not sure how rioting is going but I believe it's calmed down.
Also, maybe you could fly into Bellingham, and stay there. It's a more "crunchy/ natural/ organic" type of town. It's pretty there and smaller city than Seattle but still very pretty. Only about 25 minutes away just north of me.
@@hairbykristijennings6648 thank for responding, I like the sound of Bellingham! After I thought it through more, I realized I need to postpone going there....my doggie has cancer, and it would be hard on my mom to take care of him while im gone he's on a couple of meds. ( I'm having such a hard time the thought of putting my dog down....he's like my boy, I have no kids ) plus he hasnt giving me the "sign " like I'm ready yet...the vet said he'll let you know. I'm dreading that day....but getting my hair done by you, will lift my spirits for sure. ( so only postponing for now) I found the number to the salon I will callthere directly to book appointment when I can get away.
For now, have a good rest of summer, and I will see one of these days. Look forwards to seeing more videos in the meantime , you really do great work!!
Oh im so sorry! Poor little pup! I totally understand and whenever the time works for you, I'll look forward to seeing you!
Also, you can msg me on Instagram @kristi.at.the.cottage to book. That way I can better accommodate you.
30 volume! Always 30. No olaplex. I get the best lift. I love that lightener though!
can i ask about how much this usually costs? i rlly want my hair done like this but idk but how much hair costs, i need to start saving!
Yes! This was roughly $400. Every where is different tho. You just have to call around for your location
Pls show us how do u tone hair….
OK so my roots are getting grey n if I go for ash highlights or something then will they blend with those white roots????
Yes! But they have to be foiled very thin pieces and toned to match....
Kristi, how you comb through the back combing part?I It looks having one ,I do have problem with it
I use a comb and use a good serum. I use Paul Mitchell super skinny serum. That helps alot.
@@hairbykristijennings6648 thank you
You're welcome!
Have you done a root shadow?
Not for this service, no.
So, I've done a blonde foilaye on countless occasions and for some reason my foils always come out ashy. Apparently that's what everyone wants but I have an olive skin tone, as a Hispanic and want a warmer blonde tone. How Can I achieve this? I go back for toner and I really only get the warmer blonde after weeks of using a purple shampoo. Is there no way to get an instant result that I'm hoping for? I feel like I'm dreaming for the impossible st this point
Are you sure the stylist doesn’t tone ashy? Even if you tell her no, she could still be toning ashy….. next time she washes you out, after bleaching, ask to see what it looks like. Spoils be yellow.
Should be yellow
@@hairbykristijennings6648 well, my stylist is not st the salon I go to but I went to another woman there who is just as good. I let her know I always come out ashy and then need to come back to get the tone fixed. She assured me she would make sure it came out as a yellow and then tone it. Not sure if it's just the fact that I have dark hair and am trying to achieve a blonde but it seems I never get the colour I truly am hoping for. The ashy blonde is nice but I prefer a warmer colour. The closest we ever got was adding a brown and yellow mixed together
It's me again what was the total time?
Total service time, roughly 4 hours I want to say
i love this video but the verbal instructions were kind of confusing :/
And SOOO GOOD UR NOT EVEN HAVING TO USE GLOVES!!!?? WTF 👌 👏 WOW!!! I WISH
Not very chunky at top to mid level
That was the point. It’s called “modern chunky“, everyone wants low maintenance so it’s an updated take for soft Grow Out.
Girl please use gloves 🧤 😁
