I don't think gates was the OEM, but it's not a bad belt. Aisin is the OEM for the water pump though.

Gates is not the OEM belt for Toyota. Mitsuboshi is.

Could be right, but for clarification I mean the kit is an oem replacement as in the pump is aisin and the pulleys and tensioner appear to be the oem supplier as well. So I consider the lit to be OEM replacement at least in quality, including the gates belt which is the oem for other manufacturers.

Gates is not even an OEM replacement. AISIN is and they make the water pump and give you the same factory metal gasket (not paper like Gates) with the Toyo, NTN pully, and tensioner. Not to mention the Mitsuboshi belt. Think of it this way, the Highlander is made in Japan so why would they buy American parts and ship it to Japan.@@paulkelley86

The only kit I know of that has an Aisin water pump and OEM tensioners is an Aisin kit and it comes with a Mitsuboshi belt. @@paulkelley86

I wouldn't recommend it. There are a lot of mistakes that could be made along the way.
      It may take 2 days.

What symptoms would you have with 1 tooth off. I have the crank/cam shaft correlation bank 1 code. But I think I had it before changing the timing belt. Starts and runs fine. Until higher speeds. Seems to lack power or slight blocking shifting and bucking.

Did you ever resolve this? Same issue, except I pulled back timing cover & confirmed am off 1 tooth. Thanks
