    The T7 did well but more sense of occasion with the FW. I am old school from the 70's and 80's, like a bit of smoke and noise.
    Spend too much time on FS 22 with the grandkids, like the classics on there too. Not the modern stuff purring quietly.
    Great video thanks George, Cheers, Poth.

    Hey George, Shame there is no outer bolt on back wheel covers that have a set of spring loaded sliding pins that have ground spikes on the ground side, so when the tires are pressed down as your pulling the attachment the spikes dig in to the ground as the wheels turn adding extra ground traction. the springs keeping the pins sliding down pushing the spikes in to the ground and releasing them as the wheels turn away from the ground. If you get what I mean?
    like a spring outer wheel but with stainless steel spikes giving more grip.
    Or a Tractor with built in back wheeled tracks may do the ground grip better?

    • @GeorgeSaunders
      @GeorgeSaunders  3 месяца назад

      I have seen a tractor with a hydraulic operated version of what you are suggesting, pull the spikes in for road travel and out for field work. Downside is it makes the tractor wider 👍

    • @Dan.Whiteford
      @Dan.Whiteford 3 месяца назад

      It provides a tube through the soil (in this case 4" diameter) that excess soil water will drain into.
      This water will travel down the pipe until it either exits into a pond or ditch directly OR much more likely an artificial drain installed in the soil. Often these artificial drains have a narrow trench which the drain tile or perforated plastic pipe laid in them. The trench is filled with clean gravel backfill nearly to the soil surface.
      When the mole passes through the backfill the water in the mole drains down into a "proper" tile drain which pipes this water often to a system of drains which eventually lead to a suitable outfall.
      The length of time a mole will exist is
      1. very dependant on the characteristics of the soil that they are drawn through. Normally a high clay content is a basic requirement.
      2. The volume of water moving through the mole itself as this will erode the soil to some extent
      3. The amount of snow, rainfall or flooding both as measured in the short term - perhaps 2 -4 weeks and long term over an several months eg Autumn through to late Spring
      4. the use of heavy vehicles or machinery, especially on wet soils, will cause mole drains to collapse so the mole system fails to work due to blockages
      5. Particularly in the case of flooding the drainage system outfall may well be underwater itself in which case little or no excess water will be drained away off the soil until the outfalls are exposed due to falling levels of water in local streams and rivers.
      Hope this helps, Dan

    That's not what I call mole draining, all I see you doing is subsiding , mole draining in my day was done with a mole the size of a canon ball or shot put, almost the diameter of the porous pipes, and that tractor would not of been able to pull it, we used a Caterpillar D8 and you would always pull up hill if there was a gradient and ride back down with the track on the Grove you just cut closing the Groove, contractors don't like doing that way because it's slower and more expensive but it's the correct way to do mole draining.
