Definitely need to check out the Tulip threader. I have the Clover one and it would not work and now I know why. I use milliners needle as well but in size 10 or 11 and bottom line thread.

I recently started using the silver / gray as well as cream WonderFil InvisaFil thread. My only issue with the thread is that it is so fine, and almost invisible, that unless I am in good light, I can't see where I have already stitched! I had been sewing my EPP with silk thread, and the InvisaFil is quickly becoming my favorite. Though it was shiny on a dark fabric. I am also having trouble with my needle threader wanting to thread the needles with this fine thread.
Thanks for putting this together. I am going to try your needle threader to see how it works for me.

Thanks for the recommendations on these products. I have been thinking of getting a needle threaded like the one you recommend here. I've also heard about how limited the Clover one is. Also those thimble pads are a finger saver!! I use one at the spot where I put pressure on my needle & a rubber thimble to push my needle through the fabric. I'm gonna seek some of these products out based on what you said about them here. & love your laugh, as always!!

YAY! Thanks, Mr. Wizard of EPP! Learned something about the sewing needles. ;-)

I use many of the same ones as you use but I also buy beeswax, 6 at a time, as a thread conditioner. They have a plastic piece around the wax with small slits so you can easily run the thread through. I can't tell you how many bent needles I have from needle turn applique. The thinner they are the more bent! Lol! I have been using a Superior brand thread also for EPP but don't remember which one.

I took an empty Eos lip balm container and filled it with melted bees wax. It's lasted over 2 years and still has a ways to go. Have you used the plastic templates?

I am going to have to try that one. Thanks for sharing.

Great video Mathew, answered all my questions. I can’t use those smaller needles either, too much muscle as I was bending them too. Lol ❤️ your new fabric line, congratulations 🍾🎈🎉

Do you have a preferred brand for the papers? I was hoping to hear that. I’m thinking that some might not hold up as well to the moisture from the glue stick since that’s a new technique that they might not have been designed for.

I make my own leather thimbles. Get some thin supple leather off an old thrifted bomber jacket, and make them custom as needed. You just start with a semicircle of leather and stab stitch it to fit snugly around your finger, and gather stitch the top curve to fit over your fingernail.
They last a very long time, but when they do wear out it's pretty easy to make more, and they're super comfortable because they're always custom made.

@@Marialla. I have made several using old leather gloves. Sometimes all I need to do is cut off the finger tips and use them.
