What a GREAT tutorial! I was trying to explain what fussy cutting was to my youngest son when he heard me say it but I didn't want to go into the craft room. Great job Mister Domestic! Love your energy!
I have a few very old quilts that were passed down in the family, and I'm always amazed that all that EPP was done without a rotary cutter or all the fancy dancy rulers and tools we have today. Nope, back in the day it was just freaking scissors and a straight edge. Getting a rotary cutter for the first time totally changed my sewing/crafting life! I can't imagine being a quilter in the 1800s...I wouldn't have been!
Hey There Mister D - Here is a tip for you when gluing the paper template to the fabric to make sure all your images are centered after cutting them out of the fabric - Take your windowed template that you cut from cardstock, place that on the back of the cut piece of fabric making sure you have the outside edges lined up with both the fabric and the windowed template - Then put a dab of glue on the back of the paper template that you will fold your fabric over and place that in the opening of the windowed template and stick it to the fabric piece - that way you will make sure you have the 3/8 inch margin all the way around your fabric - Then remove the windowed template and your design will be centered - Then do this for all the other pieces that need to be centered - This works out super - I have been doing this for quite some time, and my fussy cutting looks great and matched up - I hope you can follow what I am saying. Thanks for your video and the time it takes to make.
The horses are running from the abyss! 😂😂😂. This was fun, made me laugh and taught me some new stuff. You are really fun to watch and convey a sense of joy with quilting which is great to see.
Mister Domestic being Norwegian i MUST have that fabric. Starting my first EPP project this week. Going on vacation so lots of airplane time to fill. Thanks for the entertaining tutorials.. you are a hoot.. ❤️
