      Azures and Ps cyans are best grown outdoors. People have been successful growing them indoors, but it either takes a heavily modified fridge or a very clean, very cold basement. It's far from easy because of how long it can take turn to colonize and the low temps needed to cause fruiting.
      But growing them outdoors is easy enough, you just need to start the beds in early Spring if you want them to fruit by Autumn. They're show colonizers and need that temp drop to fruit. That's also what makes them so hard to grow indoors. But corrugated cardboard and hardwood sawdust in a shallow outdoor bed are your best bet. People have been growing them that way for decades already.

      First: you gotta be in a moderate climate. Tropical or subtropical does not work.
      Find a patch to use, dig it up a foot deep and fill with beech chippings. Inoculate a bag of wood dowels with P. azurescens spores. Let it colonize between 20-25°C. When done, mix it into your outdoor bed, cover with an inch of soil and foliage (to create a good microclimate). Keep the patch moistened. In fall temperatures, usually between late September and early November (depending on your whereabouts) the mushrooms will start popping up. Done it countless times, never failed.

      I grew some very good oyster mushrooms in bags in a home made bigger tub with wet perlite in the bottom, a heat pad and thermostat, and two computer fans on timers. One fan blows air in and one pulls are out at the shorter tub sides. I cut holes in the tub and mounted the fans at each end. I have micropore tape over the fan grilles to help prevent bad spores entering. I set up a small bucket outside of water connected to two reptile misting nozzles. They were a cheap kit from AliExpress from China. The nozzles can be also set for times or a manual button pressed for a quick misting. Worked great on the edible oysters. I wonder if my setup would work for the Pan Cyans? I recently saw a video where he used water on incontinence pads instead of perlite in his tubs. I have a lot of left over puppy pads that would also work for humidity.

    After a few failures: amazing lessons through experience itself: which i had sought, finally developing some measure of experience; my best performing setup (for all strains) was: bottom watering, introducing MINERALS & fresh water, air-stones (adding negligible amount of H2O2 into water, i would do at minimum micro-casing even on strains which unnecessary, would generally use light bulbs with some type of UV (found that in conjunction with vermiculite, asthetically the two give the caps an amazing GOLD haze), furthermore, not necessary otherwise... light-timing is also relatively subjective to preference; So far as food blend? honestly, prefer millet with added supplementation, vermiculite, coco coir, gypsum, ill actually use this stuff you can get from the pet store (its a form of soil found surrounding volcanoes) - black, porous, firm(ish) texture - a bit softer than activated carbon - filled with potash and a number of other nutrients (micro and macro) also will assist with water turbidity - to a degree, -mostly- anything that isnt useful to 'biological life'

    How does the set up differ for cubes

    • @RevShifty
      @RevShifty Год назад

      They need much more fresh air exchange. Easily double what cubes need, while still keeping the humidity about the same and not keeping it drop. They also need manure.
      But if you can grow cubes, these aren't much more difficult. You really just need to up the FAE. Hell, there's even a couple different takes on PF jars for Pans, that's how similar their growth conditions are.

    • @RevShifty
      @RevShifty Год назад +1

      @@danielboomers They can work well in mono tubs, as long as you account for much more FAE. You'll always get better results with working a proven line, but it's still not really necessary. You could use smaller tubs; I've seen them grown in small tubs made from sealable plastic file holders. If you're using polyfill in a larger tub, take a bit more out of the top holes when initiating fruiting. If you're using micropore tape, consider leaving small amounts of space on the holes uncovered, as long as you're in a clean room. Either way, try indirectly pointing a small fan towards the direction of the tub once it's ready to fruit. If they're still not doing great, just take the lid off and use it to gently fan the tub a few times a day. Just make sure the humidity stays on point whichever way you go.
      They really do need a good deal more fresh air to perform well. And when you're working with a large, solid mass, it really needs to be on point across the entire surface or it'll be a really sparse harvest or it'll contam pretty quickly.
      I don't personally bother with tubs for pans, because it's more trouble than it's worth IMO. There are easier and more reliable teks, most that need zero line working. They just don't throw out the same weight per unit. I'm fine with that, personally, though you might not be. I'm fine with basic shoebox style, or even modified PF tek, just because they work well with everything else I already have going on and don't need any extra work, space, or time on my part.

    You can’t do a uncut version ? Why do all of these other RUclipsrs show the whole process? Are they showing only how to fail? Are they not really using psilocybin spores?

      When fruiting conditions start, you really need to up your FAE for Pans. At least double what cubes need, and without letting the humidity drop. And the thinnest of casing layers, of like 1/4 inch deep, can help keep the sub moisture in and create a better micro climate.

    • @soulflesh15
      @soulflesh15 Год назад +1

      @RevShifty yea, I think they needed a bit more fae. Ended up slapping a martha tent together in a hurry, but it's kinda working. Not a real canopy, but just enough for a like half a dozen trips.

    • @RevShifty
      @RevShifty Год назад +1

      @@soulflesh15 That's good enough IMO. They're completely different than cubes, and some varieties are more prone to canopies without much isolation work, but it sounds like you're doing fine regardless. Best of luck these are real gems.
